Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Kill to Your Heart’s Content

"Did I hear that right? Brothers, he said... ’What if I say no?’ HAHAHAHA!"

The Martial Artist mimicked Qin Li’s cold expression, a mocking sneer on his face as he laughed. "Damn it, kid, don’t try to act tough with me! Just look at this pathetic crew you’ve got. One big, dumb brute; one pretty boy who’s all show and no go; and two unbelievably ugly women. Tsk tsk, what a lineup. I’m fucking dying to laugh. I have no idea how you lot even made it here. Say no? The consequence of saying no is..."

As the Martial Artist spoke, his body shot toward Qin Li like a bolt of lightning. He swung his right arm viciously, sending a fist whistling through the air toward Qin Li’s face. A deep, cyan light flared up around his body!

"Die!"

The moment the word "Die!" left the Martial Artist’s lips, his fist, large as a bowl, was already right in front of Qin Li! 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Qin Li could even feel the scorching wave of heat in the air. This Martial Artist’s combat technique was a Fire Attribute one.

"Despicable!"

"Shameless!"

Bu Yunyan and Leng Yao hadn’t expected the man to attack so suddenly. Moreover, his strength seemed to be even greater than Hu’s. All they could do was watch helplessly, their hearts leaping into their throats. At this moment, there was no time to blame Qin Li for provoking these people.

BANG!

A massive bang echoed through the air. A scorching wave of heat blasted outward in all directions. Leng Yao, who was closest to Qin Li, grabbed Bu Yunyan and hastily retreated several steps, barely avoiding the blast.

As for Qin Li, he stood in the same spot, not having moved an inch. His opponent, the other Martial Artist, was sent flying backward into his group of companions. He let out a blood-curdling scream before fainting.

Qin Li stood there with a puzzled look on his face. He glanced down at his fist. The instant their fists had made contact, he had clearly felt the Innate Purple Qi inside his body surge like a tidal wave down his arm and madly pour into his opponent!

In that instant, a strange image had appeared in Qin Li’s mind: a complete map of his opponent’s meridians, showing exactly where his Primordial Power was abundant and where it was scarce.

Then, right after, Qin Li "saw" his opponent’s meridians get completely wrecked by the Fist Technique from his Only I am Venerable technique. The once-clear network of meridians was instantly tangled into a chaotic mess!

The opponent’s group was instantly stunned. The reason they had let their companion go over and provoke them was that the man’s strength had already reached Profound Level, Tier Eight!

That was a true expert! Yet facing a short young man in his early twenties, he couldn’t even withstand a single blow! What terrified them even more was that they hadn’t seen any colored light flash from Qin Li’s body.

There were only two possible reasons for this: one, he wasn’t even at the Yellow Level; two, he hadn’t used his full strength. In other words, he had won with extreme ease!

The first was obviously impossible. But the second... that was impossible too! The injured Martial Artist was not only a Profound Level, Tier Eight, but the combat technique he cultivated was a rare High-Level one! Even if this young man was at the ninth tier of the Profound Level, he shouldn’t have been able to win so easily!

Just as the group was reeling in shock and suspicion, they heard the young man say something...

"That weak?"

Qin Li muttered aloud, but inwardly he was overjoyed. ’I never thought that combining the Innate Purple Qi Technique with the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands, Only I am Venerable technique would have such an effect. I don’t have time to figure out which one deserves more credit. In any case, this is all my own power!’

He didn’t expect that his soft muttering would completely enrage the dozen or so men.

"Kid’s courting death!"

"Damn it, he’s too arrogant!"

"Brothers, slaughter him!"

"Kill them all!"

With a series of metallic scrapes as weapons were drawn, the remaining dozen or so men all drew their weapons and surrounded Qin Li, their faces twisted with rage.

The Royal Martial Artists guarding the valley entrance glanced over from a distance but made no move. Their only task was to prevent anyone from entering. Anything else, life or death, had nothing to do with them.

Hu dragged his massive chopper, raised his aura to its peak, and let out a furious roar, "Whoever dares to hurt my brother, I’ll fight you to the death!"

"Just protect the two of them!" Qin Li’s voice was icy, completely different from his usual gentle tone.

Hu was momentarily stunned. Just as he was about to speak, he saw Qin Li’s figure blur into an afterimage. His Treasure Sword unsheathed, he was already charging toward the dozen or so men!

"’Strength reigns supreme? Kill them all?’"

An icy question escaped Qin Li’s lips, but in his heart, he no longer had any intention of showing mercy. ’In this world, being low-key and forbearing only gets you trampled on even harder! For thirteen years, my mother, Qin Hanyue, cultivated from an ordinary woman to the Celestial Level. Because she had her reservations and dared not reveal her power, even scum like Physician Wu dared to harbor wicked intentions toward her. She was ignored by the Qin Family for thirteen long years. If it weren’t for the marriage arrangement with the Shangguan Family, they would have continued to ignore her. No one would have paid any attention to us, mother and son, until my so-called father arrives twenty years from now! In the end, wasn’t it all because we had no value for them to exploit?’

Qin Li had no right to criticize his mother’s outlook on life, but he would never choose to live that way himself!

’It’s just killing! Who’s afraid of whom!’

Weaving through the crowd like a butterfly darting between flowers, Qin Li’s sword hissed with a cold, purple flame. Any weapon it touched, no matter what it was, was instantly severed! And with no loss of momentum, the blade continued on toward its wielder!

A few terrified screams immediately erupted from the group. No one had expected this young man to be so audacious as to try and fight more than ten of them all by himself!

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Several streaks of purple Sword Qi sliced across the throats of a few enemies. Their Protective Gang Qi was completely useless. A thin red line appeared on their necks. After Qin Li’s sword passed, they tried to scream but found no sound would come out. Only then did a wave of excruciating pain wash over them. Their mouths gaped open, their eyes nearly bulged from their sockets. Fear and tension caused all their muscles to clench, and then a torrent of blood suddenly erupted from their necks!

THUMP... THUMP... They all collapsed to the ground. At that moment, only one expression remained in their eyes.

Regret!

"Ah!"

The survivors, who had just watched nearly half their companions die in an instant, all let out terrified screams. Their second reaction was to curse their parents for not giving them two more legs as they turned and ran!

’Brotherhood? Camaraderie? Passion? To hell with all of it! When you run into an enemy this terrifying, you’d be a fool not to run for your life!’

But was escaping... really that easy?

Qin Li’s figure moved like a ghost as he caught up to one Martial Artist. A cyan light flared around the man’s body; he had focused all of his Primordial Power into his back, forming a thick layer of Protective Gang Qi!

’No backbone!’ Qin Li sneered inwardly. While still in mid-air, he viciously kicked the Martial Artist’s back. With a BANG, the man vomited a spray of blood. The kick had landed squarely on a vital acupoint on his back, shattering his Protective Gang Qi. He fell to the ground, dead on impact.

In Hu’s eyes, Qin Li’s body was like a wisp of smoke; he couldn’t even make out his physical form! If a Profound Level Martial Artist like Hu felt this way, it went without saying for Leng Yao and Bu Yunyan.

Even the Royal Family’s Profound Level Martial Artists in the distance were watching the scene with utter shock, their mouths agape. These battle-hardened, fearless, iron-willed soldiers all had the same thought at this moment: ’Thank goodness we didn’t get into a conflict with that group just now. It seems His Majesty was right when he said it. The common folk... are full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers!’

When Qin Li finally came to a stop, the nameless Treasure Sword in his hand glinted coldly, without a single trace of blood on it. On the ground, however, bodies lay strewn about in disarray.

Qin Li’s clothes were also spotless. But the almost tangible killing intent radiating from him was so intense that people didn’t even dare to look at him for more than a second. Qin Li walked slowly toward the Martial Artist he had knocked unconscious with a single punch earlier.

The man had already woken up. Staring at the scene before him as if in a dream, his eyes were filled with disbelief and profound fear.

"Don’t... don’t kill me... Sir... I... I was wrong..." Snot and tears streamed down the man’s face as he begged, "Please don’t kill me, I... I’m very rich..."

PFFT... With a muffled sound, a foul stench filled the air.

Qin Li’s expression grew even colder. Without a word, he bent down, picked up one of the enemy’s swords from the ground, and gave the pissing and shitting Martial Artist a flat, indifferent glance.

With a flick of his hand, the sword shot out and pierced the man’s heart. The sycophantic pleading stopped abruptly.

Sensing the distant Royal Martial Artists sizing him up, Qin Li shot a cold glare back at them.

SHING! SHING! SHING! SHING... With the sound of weapons being drawn, more than half of them instinctively drew their swords, staring with extreme vigilance at the distant young man who radiated killing intent.

Qin Li curled his lip, turned around, and said to Hu, "Let’s go."
