Chapter 341: Chapter 339: You’re Not Worth a Damn

Qin Li hovered in midair, his gaze fixed. He glanced at the sharks gathering on the sea’s surface, drawn by the scent of blood, and sighed softly. Then, like a bolt of lightning, he shot toward the island that housed the Sea Tide Gang’s lair.

As his speed increased, Qin Li could feel the Crystal Core in his Dantian—formed from condensed Innate Purple Qi—continuously emitting a surging wave of energy. The Primordial Power within his Dantian was like boiling magma, on the verge of combustion.

The gale-force winds generated by his speed hammered against his Protective Gang Qi, creating a piercing shriek that sliced through the night sky.

When Qin Li was still over twenty li from the Sea Tide Gang’s island, he suddenly felt powerful waves of energy. His expression changed. ’Could the Sea Tide Gang have a peerless master among them? Otherwise, how could these energy waves travel so far?’

Qin Li pondered this but didn’t slow his pace. Soon, he could hear the sounds of a fierce battle and resounding war cries. Up ahead, it seemed a large area of space was continuously distorting. Clearly, both sides in the fight had reached the realm of Shattering Void, and the battle was incredibly intense!

Qin Li’s lightning-fast arrival immediately drew attention. On an extremely spacious martial arts training ground, where the Sea Tide Gang once lived, stood a dozen or so people.

In midair, two figures—one in black, one in white—were locked in a fierce battle!

The people on the training ground were momentarily stunned by Qin Li’s arrival, but no one said a word. They didn’t even give him a second glance.

Though the night was dark, for cultivators of their realm, there was little difference between night and day. Thus, Qin Li could naturally sense the immense air of superiority wafting from them.

Clearly, they didn’t consider him worth their attention at all.

In the sky, the Snake Woman was fighting a woman in white. The woman’s movements were elegant, her speed unparalleled. One moment she was there, and the next she had vanished, only to reappear in a different spot. With every gesture, vast sections of space would collapse!

But She She was by no means weak. With a series of cold cries, the pitch-black short sword in her hand continuously tore through space. Every so often, she would clash palms with the woman in white.

Each time they did, a deafening boom like a thunderclap would rock the heavens.

The energy shockwaves Qin Li had felt earlier were the result of the direct clash of pure power between these two. When Martial Artists are of similar strength, a direct confrontation of power is a common form of battle.

Whichever of them had less profound or less formidable Primordial Power would be the one to lose ground.

As Qin Li watched, astounded, he also felt utterly bewildered. The people on the training ground—men and women alike—didn’t seem very old. Even the woman fighting She She in midair looked quite young.

Furthermore, with their level of power, they could have never crossed paths with someone like Chen Haichao. Qin Li couldn’t imagine any place outside the Land of the Far West that could produce such a group of young, yet monstrously powerful, individuals.

Then again, these people were likely over a hundred years old, merely possessing techniques to retain their youth, just like Bing Mengyun.

But no matter how he looked at it, Qin Li found the battle between She She and the woman in white to be utterly baffling.

"Senior Sister, kill that Demoness!"

"That’s right, kill her! Hmph. To attack a group of weaklings in broad daylight, slaughtering every last one of them... it’s the work of a beast!"

"Senior Sister, don’t show any mercy! There’s no point in letting someone like her live!"

The people below, likely seeing that the two were locked in a stalemate, couldn’t help but shout encouragement for their companion.

Qin Li frowned. He looked at the group of more than ten people and said coolly, "Could you have your companion stop for a moment? I believe there’s been a misunderstanding."

"Who are you? We saw you arrive. We don’t have time for you right now, so just wait over there. We’ll deal with you later!" a young woman in a green dress said, shooting Qin Li a dismissive glance.

A handsome man in a sapphire-blue robe was far less polite. "Misunderstanding? What misunderstanding? Are you in league with this black-clad Demoness? Perfect. I’ll take this chance to enforce justice on heaven’s behalf and eliminate a fiend like you!"

Qin Li couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger at his words. These people didn’t seem evil, but their actions and speech were far too tyrannical. Still, because they seemed to possess some sense of justice, Qin Li patiently explained, "Everyone, this island is the lair of a pirate gang. They have committed every evil imaginable in Hai City of the Yan Kingdom. They are nothing but scum..."

"Enough!" the young man in the sapphire-blue robe shouted, cutting Qin Li off with a sneer. "Do you think we don’t have eyes? Or do you take us for fools? What a joke! You two are the real scum, you wretched pair!"

"Exactly, Second Senior Brother! Why are you even talking to him? This kind of degenerate must have crawled out of some Mysterious Land around here. We should just get rid of him!" a young man in cyan martial attire sneered.

"Maybe there really is a misunderstanding, Second Senior Brother, Seventh Senior Brother. Aren’t we being a little too hasty? The woman in black never once claimed to be a villain..." one of their group, a cute-looking girl in a yellow dress, murmured softly.

"Little Junior Sister, what do you know? If that woman in black doesn’t defend herself, it’s a tacit admission! Besides, do you really think villains walk around with ’I am evil’ carved on their foreheads?" the girl in the green dress retorted, admonishing the girl in yellow.

By now, Qin Li’s expression had darkened. This was clearly a group of young people out on a training excursion or searching for Heavenly and Earthly Treasures. It seemed they either hailed from some unknown region within the vast Great Sea, or they had to be from the Land of the Far West. It was unlikely that any family or Sect on the entire Eastern Continent could produce so many young masters at once.

Each one of these young people seemed unfathomably powerful. Qin Li couldn’t even gauge the strength of the yellow-dressed girl, the only one who had spoken a good word for him!

"Who are you people?" Qin Li asked, his expression indifferent as he faced the young man in the sapphire-blue robe. "What evidence can you provide that the people on this island shouldn’t have been killed? Also, try not to act like a mad dog, snapping at anyone you meet. We have no past grudges or recent enmity, so how could I have offended you? You called us a ’wretched pair’? I’m afraid I can’t accept that label. You can have it back."

"Kid, you’re courting death!" The young man in the sapphire-blue robe clearly hadn’t expected this equally handsome youth to have such a sharp tongue. He was instantly fuming with rage and sneered, "You’re not worthy of knowing who we are. If I say you slaughtered the innocent, then you slaughtered the innocent. Now, I’m going to eliminate you, you piece of scum!"

Another tremendous BOOM echoed from the sky. The violent turbulence from the collapsing space raged across the heavens, so fierce it seemed to blot out the light of the sun and moon, plunging heaven and earth into darkness.

Just then, two figures descended from the sky as if by unspoken agreement. The Snake Woman’s hair was slightly disheveled. The woman in white wore a light veil, through which a devastatingly beautiful face could be faintly seen. Her aura was calm, and she appeared to have a slight edge over She She.

Apparently, even while engaged in their fierce battle, the two had been paying attention to the situation below. The Snake Woman, fearing Qin Li would be at a disadvantage, had dodged an attack to descend.

The woman in white, perhaps fearing for her own sect members or perhaps disdaining the chance for a sneak attack, also drifted down gracefully.

"What happened?" the woman in white asked, giving Qin Li a cool, expressionless glance.

"First Senior Sister, this man is an accomplice of that Demoness. I was just about to deal with him!" the young man in the sapphire-blue robe said respectfully to the woman in white.

"I heard you say the people on this island were all pirates. Is that true?" The woman in white’s eyes were incredibly deep, like ancient wells without a single ripple, yet they seemed capable of seeing into the very depths of a person’s soul.

Qin Li glanced at the woman and said flatly, "Of course it’s true."

"First Senior Sister, don’t listen to their nonsense! If we hadn’t stumbled upon them, that Demoness would have slaughtered everyone on this island! How could someone like that possibly be a good person?" the young man in cyan martial attire said with a sneer.

The woman in white ignored the young man’s words and continued to look at Qin Li calmly. "What proof do you have?"

"Proof?" Qin Li let out a dry laugh. While this woman in white wasn’t overtly aggressive, her calm dismissiveness and condescending attitude were far more irritating than any belligerent shrew.

"I have proof, of course. But who are you to demand it? Why should I show it to you?" A faint smile played on Qin Li’s lips. He understood the Snake Woman’s pride, and he, too, had a pride of his own.

Before they could react, Qin Li continued, "Judging by your appearance, you must be from some Sect. So, let me ask: does your Sect not have a single enemy? From Ancient Times until now, has it never once annihilated another power? Recklessly interfering in others’ grudges is a huge taboo! But to strike without distinguishing right from wrong is simply insane! So I ask you, why should I present any proof to a pack of imbeciles? You aren’t worth a damn thing to me!"

"How dare you!"

"You wretched creature, you’re courting death!"

"Kid, you must be tired of living, daring to speak to us like that!"

"First Senior Sister, let me take care of this scum! He must be lying!"

Qin Li’s words sent the group into an uproar. They all looked as if they wanted to eat him alive. Never before had anyone dared to berate them so bluntly to their faces, let alone with such sharp, insulting language!

The woman in white stared coolly at Qin Li, a flicker of anger finally showing in her eyes.
