Back at the grand coliseum located in the academy, both students and teachers could be seen marching into the infrastructure as they chatter amongst themselves in various emotions.
"I heard that this year’s rookies turns out to have the best potential of the decade"
"What!! You must be joking!?"
"It’s true, I got the info from a friend of mine who got the info from one of the lecturers organizing the tournament"
"Damn.... That is shocking"
"I wonder if my sister made it to the round of 32? I haven’t seen her since the beginning of the tournament"
"Well you are about to find out so buckle up"
And while all these people were their various conversations, Morris could be seen walking towards the coliseum with a worried look on his face.
’I haven’t seen Kaelen for almost five days now, I wonder where General Cao took him to?’ He thought with a pensive look on his face while he slowly got closer to the coliseum.
"What is making you look so worried?" But out of the blue, Morris heard a voice he knew all too well. But that voice didn’t move him as he calmly replied without even turning his neck to see who is right behind him.
"Am worried about Kaelen, I haven’t seen him for five days now"
"Oh you shouldn’t be worried about him, isn’t he not with General Cao? You don’t have to worry about him, he might have even gotten stronger while he is away" Apparently, the person who is currently having a conversation with him is none other than Ethan, his personal bodyguard.
"Yeah you are right, I can’t believe I even got worried in the first place" Morris conceded with a wry smile on his face. When Ethan saw this, a small smirk crept up on his face while he shook his head helplessly.
Not long after, both Morris and Ethan walked into the coliseum with the other students and lecturers surrounding them. When they got into the coliseum, they saw a two signs at the entrance of two hallways which entails ’Participants’ and ’Spectators’.
"Well this is where we separate" Morris suddenly said while looking at the sign
"No problem, good luck" Ethan responded while he stretched out his hand for a fist bump. When Morris saw this, a small smile suddenly appeared on his face as he accepted the fist bump while he replied.
"Sure"
And without giving it a second thought, both Morris and Ethan quickly separated as they went into the two hallway. Once Morris got out of his hallway, the interior part of coliseum came into his view.
The interior was nothing short of magnificent. Rows upon rows of tiered seating stretched up to dizzying heights, filled with spectators eager to witness the feats of magic and strength. Above the seats, banners of vibrant colors fluttered in the breeze, each one representing different factions or groups.
The sheer scale of the place was overwhelming, a testament to the importance of the Pacesetters Rookie Tournament.
When Morris looked further up, he could see half the pillars of the academy with some of their disciples standing behind them.
’That must be the VIP area’ Morris thought with a serious look on his face while he walked towards on the path that leads to an empty chair
One of these pillars is Carmilia, the Ice Queen, who sits gracefully in the VIP area of the coliseum, her presence exuding a cold, commanding beauty. Her silver hair, tied elegantly behind her, glistens under the light as if it’s made of frost itself. She wears a pristine gown of pale blue and white, intricately embroidered with snowflake-like patterns.
Her icy blue eyes are sharp, giving her an air of unapproachable power. Around her, the temperature seems to subtly drop, making her immediate surroundings feel cooler.
The person standing behind her is a young woman with soft hazel-colored hair and light brown eyes, with a demeanor that is noticeably colder than her gentle appearance suggests. Despite her delicate features, there’s an underlying intensity to her presence that hints at both strength and resolve.
Seated beside her is Vlahiç, the Fleeting Spear, his aura vastly different from Carmilia’s. Calm yet has an oppressive aura around him, Vlahiç carries a spear by his side, which gleams with an ominous silver light. His sharp, rugged features and short, cropped black with a strand of silver hair give him a warrior-like appearance.
He is dressed in simple, dark attire that highlights his efficiency and pragmatism. Unlike Carmilia’s icy stillness, Vlahiç radiates restless energy, as if ready to spring into action at any moment. His gaze is focused and intense, scanning the battlefield with the sharp precision of a spear point.
His disciples behind him reflect his spirit—they stand poised, their bodies taut as if they’re ready to dash into battle at a moment’s notice, each gripping a spear of their own.
"Oh? Why isn’t Cao and Bowel here? Are they trying to neglect their duties?" Carmilia suddenly asked with an indifferent look on her face.
"I think I know why Bowel isn’t here. But for Cao, I have no clue" Vlahiç replied with a stalwart expression on his face.
"Is it concerning his kid? If so then he should just go and die. It’s his fault for breeding such a disaster, I don’t even understand why the Vice Chancellor still hasn’t even removed the title of a pillar of the academy from him yet" Carmilia replied with a more colder tone as she slowly began to turn her armchair which she has clenched tightly into ice.
’I wonder how he is doing?’ But unbeknownst to everyone in the VIP area, The soft hazel colored hair girl suddenly thought with a nostalgic feeling sparking into life within her. Apparently, this girl is none other than Lila, Kaelen’s childhood friend.
"Sorry am late everyone, I was held up with something" but out the blue, everyone in the VIP room suddenly heard a voice that reverberated across the room.
And out of the blue, the calm was disrupted by the unmistakable sound of a teleportation spell. In a flash of light, General Cao materialized in the center of the room, his presence commanding instant attention. Standing beside him were Kaelen and Guinevere, both looking slightly dazed from the sudden shift in location.
Carmilia’s icy gaze shifted toward them, her lips curling into a faint, intrigued smile. Vlahiç leaned back in his seat, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest of his chair as he assessed the newcomers with a fleeting glance.
Guinevere stepped forward, her fiery aura settling as she met the eyes of the other Pillars, while Kaelen stood tall, trying to match the imposing presence of the legendary figures before him.
’Kaelen?’ But it was only Lila who had a blank look on her face as her gaze landed on Kaelen who is beside General Cao. But her heart quickly began to beat in an abnormal pattern in as much as she still kept her composure outwardly.
Unbeknownst to her, Kaelen didn’t notice she was there as he was already preoccupied trying to stand upright in the presence of three of the four pillars of the academy.
But not long after, General Cao suddenly broke the silence, his voice resonating with authority. "Apologies for coming late, I was held up with something back in my residence."
"Oh? And what might that be?" Carmilia suddenly asked with a mischievous look on her face as she secretly glanced at Kaelen before looking at Lila behind her. When General Cao heard her question, an indifferent expression quickly formed on his face as he replied bluntly.
"Personal matters"
"Oh you don’t have to secretive about this kind of stuffs, we are siblings at this point so why not tell us what made u come late. Besides, I think I can speak for the both of us concerning what Kaelen is doing with you" Vlahiç suddenly commented while still seated comfortably.

But this time General Cao didn’t bother to give him a reply as he turned to face both Kaelen and Guinevere and said in a more calmer and friendlier tone.
"Why don’t you guys go down to the participants area and find someplace to sit?"
"O...k" both Kaelen and Guinevere muttered simultaneously before they began to step of the VIP section. When Lila saw this, she suddenly had an intense urge to call out to Kaelen and do something she supposed to do for a long time ago while stretching out one of her hands.
But in the end, it seems like something might have gotten stuck in her throat as she wasn’t able to utter anything at all.
"Don’t try me Lila" Right at that moment, Carmilia spoke up in a calm yet chilling tone while she sat upright and forward. When Lila heard her, she suddenly shuddered before she quickly erased any of those thoughts out of her head while apologizing to Carmilia.
"Am sorry Master"
