Dust blew across the barren stone quarries of the Udon region.

Standing still near the high, jagged walls of the Prisoner Mine, Ben observed the labor camp. Covered by a Disillusionment Charm, the magician blended flawlessly into the gray rock face, invisible to the patrolling guards.

Down in the quarry pit, emaciated men and women struggled to carry massive blocks of stone across the dirt. Whips cracked sharply through the dry air. Beast Pirate guards yelled harsh commands, striking anyone who slowed their pace.

Waiting patiently, the magician did not intervene. He watched the shifting patrol routes, counted the armored guards, and mapped the layout of the iron cells.

The sun slowly dipped below the horizon, plunging the harsh quarry into darkness.

Torches flared to life along the walls. Ordering the labor to cease, the guards locked the exhausted prisoners inside heavy iron cages. The Beast Pirates then retired to their barracks or took up their night watch positions along the perimeter.

Stepping out from the rocky wall, Ben raised his wooden wand. Tapping the top of his own head, a clear, shimmering bubble of clean air formed around his face, sealing tightly at his collar.

Walking silently toward the main guard pavilion, he tapped into the Creation quirk of Momo. Formulating the chemical structure of a heavy, fast-acting sedative capable of dropping a bull elephant in five seconds, he released the compound.

Thick gray gas poured steadily from his palms.

Rolling silently across the dirt floor like an unnatural fog, the mist washed over the Beast Pirate guards. The sentries inhaled the vapor instantly. Weapons clattered to the rocky ground. The guards collapsed in a heavy wave, snoring deeply before their armored heads even hit the dirt.

Bypassing the sleeping patrolmen, Ben moved deeper into the facility. Approaching a heavily reinforced, isolated cell block hidden in the back of the mine, he inspected the thick iron locking mechanisms.

Pointing his wand at the heavy metal, a simple incantation broke the security.

Alohomora.

The internal tumblers clicked rapidly. The heavy iron door swung outward on squeaking hinges.

Inside the pitch-black cell, a large, shadowed figure shifted quickly. Kawamatsu the Kappa shifted into a low, defensive stance.

"What do you want, intruder?" the kappa demanded, his eyes adjusting to the dim light.

Ignoring the drawn weapon, Ben raised his wrist. Tapping a glowing Kimiyo bead, he opened a secure communication channel.

A small, three-dimensional hologram of Kin'emon projected into the damp air of the cell.

"Ben-dono," the samurai asked, his voice echoing softly from the bead. "Is there a problem in Udon?"

"There is someone here you should speak to," the magician replied, stepping aside to reveal the defensive kappa.

The hologram froze. Tears instantly welled in Kin'emon's projected eyes. "Kawamatsu! You are alive!"

Dropping his blade in pure shock, the kappa gasped. "Kin'emon? How is this possible? You look exactly as you did twenty years ago."

Explaining the situation rapidly, the samurai detailed their time-travel escape from the burning castle. He outlined the upcoming Fire Festival raid on Onigashima, summarizing the growing alliance. Finally, Kin'emon delivered the crushing news of Kanjuro's betrayal.

"Listen to Ben-dono's plan," Kin'emon urged his old friend. "He is leading the strategy for the alliance. Follow his instructions."

The hologram flickered and vanished as the call disconnected.

Sheathing his weapon, Kawamatsu bowed deeply to the magician. "Thank you for helping to liberate Wano."

"No need for thanks," Ben stated simply. Reaching his hand forward, the magician cast the Golden Fleece.

Warm, radiant golden light washed over the kappa.

Years of starvation, toxic water, and physical neglect vanished in mere seconds. Withered muscles expanded back to their natural size. Lingering injuries sealed seamlessly, and vibrant energy returned to his green skin.

Staring at his own restored hands in disbelief, Kawamatsu offered another deep bow of gratitude.

Opening a tear into his spatial dimension, Ben pulled out several large plates of roasted meat and fresh fruit. Handing the food over, he gestured for the samurai to eat.

Devouring the meal ravenously, Kawamatsu listened as the magician asked for basic intelligence.

"Who holds the most influence among the general population here?" Ben asked, crossing his arms. "Who can rally these prisoners into an organized fighting force?"

Swallowing a large piece of meat, the kappa answered immediately. "Boss Hyogoro of the Flower. He is held in the main blocks with the rest of the workers. The yakuza and the samurai all respect him deeply."

Nodding, Ben filed the information away. "When the time comes, wait here in the prison until the day of the Fire Festival. Continue to act weak."

Finishing the last piece of fruit, Kawamatsu wiped his mouth. Stepping out of the hidden cell together, they walked back into the main quarry pit.

Flicking his wand repeatedly, Ben cast the unlocking charm across the entire cell block. Iron bars clicked open simultaneously down the long rows of crowded cages.

Pushing the doors open warily, thousands of prisoners stepped out into the cool night air. Murmurs of confusion spread quickly through the crowd. Spotting the unconscious Beast Pirate guards littering the ground, the murmurs turned into shocked whispers.

Stepping into the moonlight, Kawamatsu searched the gathered crowd. Spotting a small, frail old man with blue hair standing near the front, the kappa walked forward.

"Hyogoro-dono," Kawamatsu greeted respectfully.

Squinting in the dark, the old yakuza boss gasped. "Kawamatsu the Kappa? You survived all these years?"

Gathering the confused prisoners closer, Kawamatsu explained the impending Fire Festival raid and the miraculous return of the Akazaya Nine.

Shock rippled through the massive crowd. Some prisoners wept openly at the mention of the Kozuki name. Others shook their heads in denial, their spirits broken by years of backbreaking labor and systematic starvation. The debate grew loud, echoing through the rocky quarry as men argued over the futility of fighting Kaido.

Growing bored of the endless talking, Ben raised his hand. Channeling a massive amount of magic, he cast a wide-area Golden Fleece.

A brilliant wave of golden light swept across the entire prison camp.

The effect was instantaneous. Emaciated bodies filled out with healthy, dense muscle. Chronic coughs stopped. Poorly healed bones fused perfectly into place. The prisoners stared at their restored hands, feeling the strength they possessed twenty years ago rushing rapidly back into their veins.

Lowering his hand, the magician addressed the massive, suddenly healthy crowd. His voice carried no passion, remaining completely flat and analytical.

"I am not going to beg you to fight with us," Ben told the thousands of warriors. "It is entirely up to yourselves. But know this: we will defeat Kaido with or without you."

Absolute silence fell over the quarry.

"If you choose not to stand with us, the fight will simply drag on a bit longer," the magician continued evenly. "But we will definitely defeat Kaido. It is already written in his fate. Now it is up to you if you want to participate in that victory."

Pacing slowly, Ben looked over the silent, staring crowd.

"You can liberate Wano so that you can tell your future generations you were among the men who brought down the Beast Pirates," Ben offered. "A warrior is not someone who wins all his fights. A warrior is someone who tries and tries again. Even if it takes a hundred attempts, he will give up his life before backing down or admitting defeat."

Stopping his pacing, the magician delivered the final point. "It is up to you if you want to defeat Kaido and his men."

The words sank deep into the restored samurai and yakuza. Wano was a proud, fierce warrior nation. Backing down from a fight carried significantly more shame than losing a life on the battlefield.

Muttering broke out among the ranks.

Stepping to the front of the crowd, Hyogoro drew himself up to his full height.

"I will fight," the old boss declared, his voice ringing with renewed, unquestionable authority.

Another samurai stepped forward beside him. Then a yakuza boss from Ringo joined them. Soon, the entire quarry surged forward, raising their fists high into the night air. A massive, deafening roar of rebellion echoed through Udon, shaking the very stone walls of the prison.

Raising his hand to quiet the cheering crowd, Ben snapped his fingers.

Hundreds of wooden crates and heavy barrels transferred seamlessly from his spatial dimension, dropping onto the dirt floor of the quarry. Fresh water, cooked white rice, roasted sea king meat, and strong sake spilled out before the starving men.

"Eat the food," Ben instructed the warriors. "Eat to your fill. I will come every single night to deliver fresh supplies like this."

Crossing his arms, he delivered the final, crucial instruction.

"But during the day, you must continue to act weak," the magician ordered strictly. "Play your roles exactly as you normally do for the next two weeks. Go to the quarries. Break the stones. Do not let the guards suspect your health has returned. We need a complete surprise attack on the night of the Fire Festival."

Nodding in solemn understanding, the prisoners tore into the massive feast. They shared sake and meat in quiet, joyous celebration, honoring the return of their strength and the impending war.

Allowing them ample time to eat and drink their fill, Ben waited patiently near the sleeping guards.

Once the food vanished, the warriors cleaned the evidence. Returning to their respective iron cells, they pulled the heavy doors shut behind them, recreating the atmosphere of imprisonment.

Observing the men sitting in the cages, Ben noticed a glaring issue. Acting weak would not hide the sudden return of healthy muscle mass and sealed scars. Any guard walking past the bars would instantly recognize the changes.

Drawing his wooden wand again, the magician pointed it toward the long rows of cells.

A subtle, hazy gray shimmer cascaded over the entire prison block. The wide-area illusion settled directly onto the prisoners' skin. Instantly, the healthy warriors appeared frail once more. The illusion painted fake bruises, hollow cheeks, and emaciated limbs over their restored physiques. To any outside observer, they looked exactly as broken and starved as they had yesterday.

"This illusion will mask your restored health," Ben explained to the disguised men. "I will come again tomorrow."

Stepping backward into the shadows of the quarry wall, the magician triggered his spatial magic. Folding the air around his body, Ben teleported away from the Udon region, leaving a fully restored, motivated, and perfectly hidden army waiting patiently in the dark.
