Chapter 1117: Chapter 1113: A Different Kadi
Igor now feels an almost worshipful admiration for Kadi!
Kadi’s explanation directly restored the setting that had already collapsed for him. Although he didn’t know how long it would stand this time, at least it was standing again!
If it weren’t for the presence of others, Igor would have wanted to pick up Kadi and kiss him, for he couldn’t otherwise express this inner excitement!
"He’s lost his memory?" The musical instrument vendors began to gaze at Igor, thinking that amnesia must be a distressing affair.
"Yes, yes, he’s lost his memory, so he can’t even remember what instrument he originally used!" Kadi continued, speaking every word with caution now, fearing that the identity they were pretending might be exposed.
"Such a poor child, how did he end up with amnesia..." The vendors were quite curious about this memory loss, as they rarely encountered such people in their lives.
"That’s quite a long story, alas!" Kadi sighed.
The vendors turned their attention back to Kadi, as it was apparent looking at Igor wouldn’t reveal much; better to listen to what his companion had to say.
"It’s terrifying for a wandering bard to lose his memory." One of the vendor’s helpers said, a burly man evidently doing the heavy lifting.
"Yes, very frightening; he can’t remember anything and can’t perform any recitations, all those wonderful poems just disappear into the air, which is really a depressing thing!" Kadi said while gesticulating, fully immersed in his role-playing, and the exaggerated gestures convinced the vendors that every word of Kadi’s was true.
"Without his recitation, I can’t play various roles, I don’t have his talent! Such a pity, I can’t exhibit my special skills as a performer, and he can’t sing his poems!"
Kadi’s portrayal had reached a profound level, even leaving the supposedly amnesiac Igor momentarily stunned!
"Without his memories, I can’t exhibit my talents either!" Kadi sighed, his tone filled with sadness and helplessness!
"I think you’re showing your talents quite well now!" The vendor’s helper said, evidently sympathizing deeply with Kadi’s predicament.
"Ah, you don’t understand, I’ve put a lot of effort into trying to help him find his memory!"
"How so!" The vendor became interested in Kadi’s words, clearly drawn into the story Kadi spun!
"I hope to awaken his memory, taking him on a journey again, wearing this performer outfit every day, hoping he’ll recall his past upon seeing my appearance! Only then can we continue our adventures in the world!" Kadi spoke with growing emotion, as if everything he said was true.
"Your unwavering dedication to him is truly touching!" The burly helper listened, moved to the point of feeling emotional.
"He’s my brother, how could I abandon him!" Kadi continued his exaggerated gestures.
"So how did he end up losing his memory?" The vendor, engrossed in the tale, couldn’t help but ask Kadi.
"It was greed that led to it!" Kadi sighed again, "He’s an adventurer with class, and to pursue higher levels, he took risks and ended up losing his memory. Truly sacrificing much for little gain!"
"Affairs among adventurers with class, we don’t understand." The vendor frowned, clearly without a grasp of such matters.
"Yes, to recover his memory, I’ve also had to take risks, touching upon that force which transcends both adventurers with class and non-professionals, and ultimately, alas!" After saying so, Kadi also let out a deep sigh.
"Did you also join the Alchemy Workshop!" The burly helper’s eyes lit up, clearly intrigued by Kadi’s actions.
"Ah, blame my ignorance, not listening to advice in time, acting conveniently, not joining big organizations, but believing the words of a dark wizard!"
"Oh, so you didn’t join the Alchemy Workshop!" The burly man felt a bit disappointed.
"Our current plan is to find the Alchemy Workshop!" Kadi then said, perceiving something different from this burly man.
"Really!" The burly man became excited.
"Of course it’s true, I’ve truly put in effort for my brother, becoming this strange way, I don’t expect to return to my former self, I just hope my brother can regain his memory and become a wandering bard again, so we can continue adventuring in the entire world!"
Kadi spoke endlessly, as if the story had been rehearsed countless times in his mind.
The burly helper and the musical instrument vendor listened with zest, simultaneously moved by Kadi’s selfless spirit!
"You’ve had it rough!" The vendor said.
"It’s alright, brought him here to see if an instrument might help jog his memory!"
"You’ll take the instrument for a try, what does he usually like to use—do you remember!" The vendor suddenly showed kindness.
"A habit, using this!" Kadi didn’t know what Igor could play, so he randomly picked a harp.
It was a harp, favored by most wandering bards because it was small and portable.
"Quick, try it with him!" The vendor urged eagerly.
Igor quietly watched as Kadi walked over, barely recognizing this Kadi.
This Kadi was practically a master liar, opening his mouth and weaving endless tales, and among what he just said to the vendors, was any of it true!
Although Igor knew Kadi spoke this way to maintain the setting, he still felt somewhat uncomfortable with this Kadi.
He felt that this Kadi was not someone he knew.
"Brother, the harp you’re most familiar with is here!" Kadi handed Igor the harp.
Igor took the harp with trembling hands, looking at Kadi, full of doubt, inwardly saying, where did you learn such a skill at lying!
Kadi ignored Igor’s doubts, continuing his role, believing their setting was now perfect, with all flaws erased by his performance, and Igor should be grateful to him!
Seeing the unresponsive Igor, Kadi shrugged and sighed: "Ah, it seems it’s still not working, it seems my brother’s memory recovery relies on the Alchemy Workshop’s circus to help!"
