Chapter 1075: Chapter 1073: Employment

The big guy looked at Igor standing still and got displeased: "What, didn’t you hear what I said!"

"Why should I clean up the mess left by this Exotic Fire for just one gold coin? Isn’t that too little?" Igor was not afraid of the big guy at all. Even though the opposing side was imposing and looked fierce, he was entirely unfazed.

Igor could sense that this flame was no ordinary fire, because the ground after the fire had burned was all blue-black. This was clearly Kadi’s handiwork! Kadi had too many strange things on him; after learning a bit of the Wizard’s Spirit Sensing Ability from Yuga, he could control many natural elements. The fire that sprayed out from Moonflow Stream’s White Swamp was played with by him in no time. Kadi was like a container, able to continually absorb these natural elements and then pour them out.

This fire that suddenly arrived, was definitely released by Kadi!

"Didn’t expect that a little Fighter like you would know about Exotic Fire!" said a mysterious man wearing a hood, his tone filled with disdain.

Igor was taken aback; how did he suddenly become a little Fighter? Did he have a label on his face? How could he not be a Fighter? However, Igor did not react with strong dissatisfaction; instead, he felt that this group of people, despite looking mysterious, were actually inept because they couldn’t even identify his profession.

Actually, Igor didn’t know, given his current Spirit Power State and its outward appearance, it was hard for anyone to clearly say what his profession was now.

He learned a wide range of skills, his use of Spirit Power had reached a highly proficient level, but these abilities were hard to showcase outwardly. The Spirit Power he displayed now was steadfast, and coupled with the sword on his back, most people would assume he was a Fighter.

Wizards and Scholars do not have weapons, they mostly carry Magic Staffs and canes. Hunters usually have daggers and bows and arrows. Alchemists often have empty hands, and Adventurers and those outside mainstream professions are not paid attention to in terms of what they carry.

Therefore, the first impression people have of seeing Igor is naturally as a Fighter.

"Giving you gold coins to serve us is already a great favor, what are you unhappy about, dawdling, what are you thinking about!" The Thin and Tall Pole impatiently said at this moment, clearly displeased with Igor’s silence.

"What are you really saying!" Igor was unafraid of this group and felt they were like clowns, endlessly chirping away. With all this fussing, the suspicion on the ground could have already dealt with the lingering Exotic Fire.

"Hey, this kid really doesn’t know what’s good for him!"

"I guess his bones must be itching!"

Igor stared at them blankly, thinking to himself, could it be possible that the meteorite forged for the first time today would be used?

Looking at the other side’s formation, it seemed they were ready for a fight, but somehow they also seemed to fear something, hesitant to make a move. Igor watched closely the movements of this group; despite tough talks, none acted, it was clear the three didn’t dare act rashly, they seemed to be waiting for that woman’s order...

"Don’t chatter!" The smoking elder finally spoke; Igor observed that aside from the woman, this elder seemed to hold a higher status among them!

After the elder spoke, the other three shut their mouths without a peep!

"Our master asks, little brother, are you willing to serve us?"

"Serve?" Igor scratched his head, unsure of the meaning of this word.

"It means we pay you, and you work for us."

"Oh, you mean hire, clarify a bit more. ’Serve’ is too vague and easily misunderstood." Igor grinned.

"So, little brother is willing then."

"That depends on the price you offer. Just one gold coin, I wouldn’t deal with this Exotic Fire for you all," Igor said, feeling even more confident as he seemed to dominate the equal conversation.

"Do you know much about Exotic Fire?" The elder exhaled a puff of smoke.

"At least, water is useless, as I guess you’ve already learned," Igor shrugged, aware this was the Swamp Flame released by Kadi, a flame he knew well.

"This fire has cost us greatly in effort and resources without being eradicated. If you can eliminate this flame, we’re willing to give you a gold bar," the elder said softly.

"Oh, really?" Igor tilted his head to look at the woman, who remained silent.

"I speak for our master, my words are the master’s words," stressed the elder.

"Alright then, a gold bar it is, but pay me half upfront, and after I extinguish the flame, pay the other half."

"You..." The big guy was displeased, just about to say something but got stared back by the elder!

"Okay, we’ll pay you half now, a gold bar is a hundred gold coins, Aelio, give him fifty gold coins!"

"Yes!" The Thin and Tall Pole opened the box he was holding; although the box was slightly burned, its contents were unscathed, and inside, it was glittering with gold, clearly filled with numerous gold coins.

Soon the Thin and Tall Pole counted out fifty gold coins, placing them in a bag and tossing it to Igor: "Count them yourself, make sure there’s none missing!"

Igor could hear the resentment in the tone, but he was equally surprised; these people dared to just openly handle a box filled with gold coins, showcasing their confidence in their strength!

"Alright, I’ll extinguish this fire for you!" Igor pocketed the bag of gold coins and confidently walked towards the place where the Exotic Fire burned.

"I’ll see what you’ve got!" said the mysterious man in a hood from the side, evidently unfriendly towards Igor.

"Just sever the connection with their medium!" Igor said and waved his hand, sending a burst of Spirit Power over the entire fire, quickly forming a white shield directly over the burning Exotic Fire.

The trio watched in amazement, not because Igor’s action shocked them, but because the white shield stunned them. They hadn’t expected subduing the Exotic Fire could be this simple!

"Alright, pay me the remaining gold coins now!" Igor extended his hand.

The smoking elder was tearful but having agreed beforehand, there was no way to break the promise.

The Thin and Tall Pole begrudgingly paid Igor another hundred gold coins, evident resentment in his gaze!

Those hundred gold coins! They were paid truly begrudgingly!
