Chapter 1073: Chapter 1071: Kadi’s Way
Before long, Igor arrived at the cow shed where he had parted ways with Kadi.
However, he did not find any trace of Kadi. It seemed that the chill he felt truly served as a warning.
"Kadi?" Igor called out tentatively, but there was no response.
Could something really have happened to Kadi in such a short time? Igor couldn’t help but think to himself.
It was Kadi’s first time coming down the mountain, and he was unfamiliar with the situations below. Coupled with his peculiar appearance, it would naturally make many people confused. Let alone whether Kadi’s appearance could frighten people, his clumsy style of doing things would also offend people.
Unable to find any trace of Kadi, Igor began to worry. After all, Kadi was his good friend, and he didn’t want anything unfortunate to happen to him so soon after coming down the mountain!
Igor carefully searched the area around the cow shed once more but still found nothing. There was not a single trace of Kadi, nor any mark left behind. Everything indicated one possibility, that Kadi might have encountered an accident.
Don’t panic, don’t panic, Igor silently reassured himself, reminding himself that he was no longer an impulsive youngster. Over the past two years, he learned a lot on Guru Mountain and couldn’t let emotions control him.
Tracking is a skill the Hunter is most proficient in. Igor recalled Meslo on Guru Mountain, the Hunter with the speed of a leopard who had taught him about sensing smells. Although Igor wasn’t a Hunter and couldn’t track using Secret Sensing Skills, he had at least been exposed to some training, giving him some confidence in tracking someone.
He carefully observed the surroundings, noting no significant changes, meaning nothing intense had happened here. The straw in the cow shed looked the same as before, seemingly untouched or overturned by any struggle...
These observations suggested to Igor that Kadi had not been frightened or put up much resistance. Of course, Kadi wouldn’t easily be frightened, considering his appearance. However, Igor couldn’t understand why there was no resistance at all. Kadi wasn’t weak; he wouldn’t just surrender without a fight.
Calmly reflecting, Igor realized he might have been too hasty. He rubbed his temples, trying to calm down, recognizing that he couldn’t lose his composure over a sudden incident. He had to analyze the current situation carefully. There might be many similar scenarios in the future, and if he couldn’t handle this, he really had no business being an Adventurer.
Igor pondered deeply; there were no signs or traces left behind, indicating that Kadi wasn’t forcibly taken. Thus, Kadi might have left on his own accord, which could mean two things: either he was lured away and willingly followed someone, which would be troublesome, or he left after noticing something wrong, which would also be troublesome...
Thinking it over, Igor found both prospects to be troublesome.
Since the trouble had appeared, backing down wasn’t an option. Two years of special training on Guru Mountain should yield results, and it was time to see the outcome of that training.
Even though he wasn’t a Hunter able to track using Secret Sensing Skills, having learned Hunter skills, Igor could still sense the Spirit Power of his surroundings.
Everything has a spirit, and Igor’s understanding of Spirit Power had transcended the usual level, allowing him to discern the surrounding circumstances through Spirit Sensing. Even in the dark, he could "see" clearly, a skill he learned from Jemma on Guru Mountain. Besides Hunter skills, he acquired many special methods of Spirit Sensing.
Igor expanded his Spirit Power, which stretched out like tendrils, exploring in all directions. Everything the tendrils touched transmitted immediately to Igor’s mind, enabling him to "see" the surroundings. Igor’s reach wasn’t as extensive as Jemma’s, allowing him only to explore within a semi-cloud distance.
Igor noticed several figures left behind in this area. These figures were vague because the residual Spirit Power was very scant, making them appear blurry. Through the blur and clarity of these residual Spirit Power figures, Igor deduced their paths, a deduction method taught to him by Goodley on Guru Mountain. Using the thinness of residual Spirit Power, one could perform a deduction. At Goodley’s place, numbers formed various possibilities, leading to the best possibility, while for Igor, it came as a series of images formed by residual Spirit Power. Perhaps this difference stemmed from the distinctions between professions. Scholars typically utilized Numerical Sensing Skill for deductions, whereas Igor relied purely on piecing together images for deduction...
Igor vaguely saw these figures heading towards Gaga County, appearing as a cautious small group.
However, none of the residual Spirit Power included Kadi’s figure. What was this guy up to?
Upon seeing these residual traces, Igor breathed a sigh of relief. The absence of Kadi’s residue indicated that he wasn’t taken by these people. That these people left residual Spirit Power here implied they were Adventurers with Class, so as long as it wasn’t them apprehending Kadi, he should be fine. This was a point Igor felt somewhat confident about.
Igor continued expanding his detection range, his tendrils extending outward until they couldn’t reach any further...
No other residual Spirit Power was detected, implying only a few Adventurers with Class had been here.
Since Kadi wasn’t taken by these Adventurers, could he have been taken by Non-Adventurers?
Could Non-Adventurers take away Kadi? Igor needed to ponder this. In his view, Non-Adventurers couldn’t so much as touch a hair on Kadi’s head...
Yet things were getting strange—where exactly had Kadi gone?
Igor thought back to what Kadi had told him before.
If something unexpected occurs, I’ll use my way to tell you where to regroup!
Kadi’s way? Igor scratched his head. What way was that? He had no clue!
Apparently, he didn’t know Kadi well enough, not even understanding Kadi’s way...
What kind of way was it! Igor fell into deep thought. The feeling was quite painful as he was in deep thought, yet still had no clue!
