Chapter 599: Editing.
Leo and the family returned home after a week, Elvin had confessed to Cherry, and just as Leo predicted, Cherry knew about it all along. She had seen the mail on Elvin’s phone and read through them. Elvin didn’t feel bad that Cherry read his email, because she was using his laptop for work at that time. He felt bad because his wife knew exactly what was happening to him, but she had to handle it all alone.
When the family came back home, the people got busy with their daily lives. Snow took over the office and Lily went back to the school. She was taking part in many things at the same time, because she wanted to be friends with capable people who would later grow up to be the pillar of the society and so, this was her way of saying, "I will have rich and well versed friends, and not like Uncle Elvin because he took away my sandwich to pamper his wife."
Leo was left speechless by this, because he knew that his daughter would not spare anyone, and specially those who dared to be affectionate towards her father. Yes, she disliked the brotherhood because she wanted to have that.
The young man’s tasks were simple, take the Little Ancestor to the school and then come back home to tend to the twins. He would cook food for them, and then he would take them to shower, and the whole cycle would repeat everyday. Many times Leo would take them to the public events where he was invited, and at the side, he was researching about the history of the Repteline and the Goddess of mercy.
After two weeks, of coming back home, it was his birthday, and Snow asked, him what he wanted to do. Leo thought about it and said, "I have no idea, it has been really long since I have planned for my own birthday."
Snow smiled and said, "Fine, then leave that to me."
Leo nodded and said, "I will be going out in the morning, gonna see Mom and Dad been some time, and I also want to visit the shrine of the Goddess and ask the High Priest about a few things."
Snow nodded and then asked, "Also, Cherry sent a message."
The young man asked, "What is it?"
Snow smiled and replied, "She asked you to go a little easy on Elvin, these days he is going back home with more bruises than fair skin."
Leo chuckled and said, "If she wants me to do that, she needs to request her Goddaughter. The little goblin bribed Kyle and Jock with the caramel she made the other day. She told them that Elvin bullied her when he met her. The guys are more protective of her than me."
Snow was surprised and she asked, "Seriously?"
Leo nodded with a smile on his face. Snow stood up from the bed and went out to deal with Lily.
...
Dawn arrived at school the next morning and submitted the report to Asta. The lady gave it a rough read, but then she was surprised. She said, "Mr. Celestus, you should head to the class. I will take care of the submission process."
Dawn nodded and left the staff room. Meanwhile, Asta held the report tightly and went to find the economics teacher to get his opinion on the entire thing. From what she understood about the report, economic research was beyond her reach. However clueless she was, she could tell that the report was significant.
Dawn came to the class and directly made a beeline to his seat. He sat down and looked at Saffron, who was gazing at him as if he had a flower on his face. He asked, "What happened now, Saffie?"
Saffron leaned over and asked, "Say, how long have you been practicing?"
Dawn rolled his eyes and said, "Focus on your studies. Also, you are not allowed to eat junk food from today."
Saffron opened her eyes wide and stood up from her seat as she yelled, "Just because you have gotten stronger, do you think you can bully me?"
Her strong reaction made the entire classroom look at them. Dawn looked at her with a raised eyebrow and said, "Yes. I can. Do you have any objections?"
His tone immediately deflated her. She sat down and asked, "So, can you take it slowly?"
Dawn fished out his books and asked, "Are you so weak that you cannot hold it back?"
His remark poked her ego. She asked provokingly, "Are you challenging me?"
Dawn nodded and said, "If that is what it takes. I am challenging you."
Saffron slapped the desk and said, "Fine, what is the stake?"
Dawn said, "If you fail to keep the promise, I will not teach you how to fight. If you can follow the routine I set for you, I will teach you after the college entrance exam."
His tone was calm. However, Saffron took the bait and said, "Fine, we are on."
Dawn smiled faintly as he began to read. The day was progressing mundanely when suddenly, a burly person wearing a tracksuit walked inside the classroom. Dawn sensed a change in the calm vibe of the class. Everyone suddenly became uptight except for Trevor Hymn. He narrowed his eyes, and just as he thought about what could be wrong, the burly man said, "What are you all waiting for? You have five minutes to gather on the school grounds."
Grace stood up and said, "Sir, the college entrance exam is just around the corner. Can we please take this time to study more?"
Her request was not excessive. They would have agreed if it were any other teacher, but this guy gazed at Grace and said, "Five minutes. Anyone late will have to do two laps."
Then he left, and Grace sighed. Dawn stood up and said, "Saffie, let’s go."
Saffron nodded, and they all came to the locker rooms. The boys and the girls were given separate locker rooms. They would carry their sportswear for the Physical activity sessions. Dawn changed into a white t-shirt and black tracksuit pants. They all quickly changed, and Dawn sensed a gaze locked on him during this whole time.
He did not have to think much to guess Trevor glared at him. Thinking about this enmity, Dawn smirked. These past few days, he had been waiting for an opportunity to make this guy pay for what he had done. However, from the investigation Saffron gave him, this guy was backed by his father, who had a few connections and could get away with the things he had done.
Dawn did not believe in scaring his enemy. He would not be at peace for as long as his enemy remained alive. He was taught and experienced that if the enemy were not dealt with once and for all, they would return for revenge again and again.
He was strong enough to kill Trevor but did not wish to meddle in complicated situations. So, finally, Dawn concluded that he would make a move against Trevor during the college entrance examination. Not only Trevor but even his father must not be spared because it was his father who was enabling him to be a pain in the ass.
Dawn changed his clothes and came out of the dressing room. He found Grace and Saffron walking with the rest of the girls and followed everyone to the ground. He could not help but feel that something was up. He tried to recall anything odd, and surely, he found out how the teacher was related to Trevor.
This guy was named Simone Hallows. He had a bad reputation in the school because he was overly strict with the students and often beat them in the name of punishment. In the Fortune Nation, teachers enjoyed a certain privilege. They could punish the students reasonably—for example, laps on the ground or some workout.
Dawn recalled that Simone preferred boxing as a workout and was brutal enough to bully students. None of the students could handle his fist, and they all curled up with just one punch. While thinking, they all reached the ground. Simone said, "Go on, warm up."
Dawn watched the other students. They all began to stretch and skip on their spots. He followed their actions, and then Simone said, "One lap."
Dawn found that this person did not like to talk much, but his eyes were brimming with malice. However, Dawn did not wish to act unless he made an obvious move. He followed the students slowly and ran around the ground.
Saffron was already gasping, and her pace was slowing down. Dawn was following right beside her, and he said, "Saffie, inhale the air when you move your left foot and exhale when you step forward with your right."
The girl took his advice and adjusted her breathing. She experienced instant relief and was surprised. Trevor did not miss out on this situation and said, "Classmate Dawn, do you not know that it is forbidden to talk when we are running?"
Saffron wanted to say something, but Dawn patted her shoulder and told her to say nothing. Trevor smirked and said, "Instructor, report!"
Then he ran to Simone’s side, who barked loudly, "Student Dawn, come over here."
The young man ran over with a calm expression, then he asked, "Yes, Sir."
