Chapter 526: Dragon Breath
As I held back from skipping through to the new additions, I skimmed through the rest of my old Dragon Skills
Just like Dragon Scales received a Dragon Wings’ upgrade, everything also got upgraded to varying degrees.
’Does it keep going like this?’
When it came to the least notable upgrade, Dragon Stomach definitely won that prize. The basic form of the skill was already sufficient for most cases, but I wasn’t exactly complaining.
After all, while situations when I wouldn’t be able to consume food for 3 months were very rare, it wasn’t exactly farfetched. An extra month of food storage was certainly welcome.
That being said, it was only a very negligible upgrade when compared to Dragon Blood.
Just the fact that its usability had quadrupled was pretty amazing, yet that was just the tip of the iceberg. Being able to exercise an even stronger form of Full Dragonization was just insane.
[ ’Full Dragonization’
Description: Returning to one’s origin has always been a legendary state that countless people sought, you can now do it easily! (It’s not just a theory anymore...?)
*You can enter a Full Dragonization state and have the body of a ’Young Adult Stage Dragon’, {once per day for a limited time of 5 minutes}.
*If the usage period is exceeded, a sealing penalty will be applied in proportion to the amount of time in extra usage. ]
Furthermore, while the number of uses remained the same for this specific ability, the amount of time was quintupled!
Considering how much damage I managed to do in one minute, 5 minutes was in fact a very large amount of time. Especially when the growth stage had been boosted.
’Don’t I really have a good chance at surviving now?’
My expectations for the next Full Dragonization event were high enough to vaporize a part of the pressure that I constantly felt.
On the other hand, the change in ’Dragon Aura’ was definitely the most subtle of them all. Just like the skill only displayed it in parenthesis next to Dragon Domination, the System itself didn’t say much.
[ *You are able to use ’Dragon Fear’. ]
Aside from a very basic statement, no further explanation was provided.
’One more thing for later.’
Naturally, compared to figuring out such a side ability, the new ones took full priority.
’It really came out as an ability.’
This was something that I jokingly thought about ever since I decided to undergo Draconic Evolution, but I didn’t think that it would end up becoming a reality.
’Do I just breathe it out?’
In the eyes of an ignorant bystander, such an ability was not only simple and silly but also very redundant. However, for actual Elemental Masters, the ability to breathe out elements was an ability that defied logic itself!
To begin with, humans weren’t creatures that could naturally manipulate Elements. Rather, in order to do so, they had to undergo a harsh path of training.
Starting from discovering their respective Attributes to finding the right Elemental Art, before undergoing the troubles of Elemental Strengthening, and the cost of Elemental Accumulation...
All the way up until one could truly draw out Elements from their Elemental Seed. Yet, this ability claimed to eject elements out of nothing. It didn’t put up any sort of pre-requisite!
’Dragons don’t practice Elemental Arts anyway.’
In that case, what was the source of such Elements supposed to be? How was it even supposed to accumulate before being ejected?
’Let’s just give it a try.’
In the end, the only real answer could be a practical one!
Without further ado, I went ahead and aimed at an empty part of the wall before giving the mental command to start.
At first, I couldn’t help feeling the silliness of fully opening my mouth while waiting for the breath to come out, but just a second later, all that silliness was completely washed away as something really started to accumulate.
’For real?’
The little Elements that I had regenerated over time weren’t being drawn out, rather, the Elements suspended in the air started gathering in front of my mouth!
Just as one would expect from their very first Dragon Breath, the one I envisioned was the classic fire breath and as a result, foreign Fire Elements were actually joining together in the shape of a tiny pellet.
Just this much was already fascinating to me, but there was no way I was stopping here. Although I wasn’t sure if this was enough for an effective Dragon Breath, I tried to release everything I accumulated over 30 seconds.
In that instant, the tiny pellet exploded into wild Fire Elements. For a second, I was worried it might backfire, but the wild Fire Elements quickly pressed forward in a uniform manner.
woosh!
Just like that, a small circle on the wall was burnt to the point of melting. In a split second, the accumulated Fire Elements were exhausted by producing a short-lived ray that went all the way to the wall.
The affected area left a lot to be desired, but...
’Unbelievable.’
Even deep inside, I could only blurt out words of praise. I could effectively deal that much damage with the correct methods and preparations, but what I just did was no different than cutting a mountain using a kitchen knife that I borrowed from a stranger.
Although I could do the same using my Sword Energy, the kitchen knife’s feat was far more impressive.
’How does this work?’
Despite being a group of Elements that I didn’t personally refine or elevate using my Fire Cell, these Fire Elements were capable of producing damage of the same level.
’...Is this also related to Laws?’
While I was undeniably a newbie when it came to the field of Laws, I had some faint understanding of what Affinity meant. If that set Affinity allowed me to call upon a certain level of power regardless of the source of elements...
’It makes sense, at least when using my skewed logic.’
Contrary to common belief, it was far easier to make assumptions when you didn’t know too much about the topic at hand. After all, everything was plausible if there were no facts to refute it
’In any case, more tests need to be carried out.’
In the end, the only conclusion that I could come to was ’inconclusive’. However, considering the other ability I gained, I might have ended up receiving the perfect testing tool.
