Chapter 90: Ch 90: Secret Investments and Startup Celebration

The sun was shining soft and bright, illuminating the world gently as the bus moved smoothly along the roads. Not even a tiny bump could be felt thanks to the excellent suspension.

The curtains were drawn, keeping the bright sunlight from flooding inside and allowing the passengers to rest in comfortable dimness. Inside the bus, nearly everyone was sleeping peacefully.

PD Xu Cui was dozing in the seat nearest to the door, his head resting on the mini table as he snored softly away. Behind him sat Zhao Yichen and Han Jiho, with Han Jiho resting his head on the table with a small pillow, while Zhao Yichen slept with his head against the window, murmuring incoherently in his sleep.

Behind them, Lin Xuanyu and Gu Chengze were also sleeping. Gu Chengze sat with his upper body straight and proper, as if he were awake. The only thing giving him away was his gently swaying head. Meanwhile, Lin Xuanyu slept "cutely," his mouth slightly agape.

On the third row next to them, Mo Yan lay peacefully on the window seat, sucking on a bottle of milk that Su Wanyan was feeding her. Meanwhile, Su Wanyan, who was scrolling through her phone with her right hand, held the baby bottle in her left, feeding Mo Yan calmly and expertly.

In front of them, Mo Xingxue and Shen Guoxing were both sleeping peacefully. Shen Guoxing was leaning her head on Mo Xingxue’s arm, while Mo Xingxue was holding Shen Guoxing’s head to keep it from slipping off. Although Mo Xingxue was holding on tightly, she too was already dead asleep—it was only maternal instinct that kept her grip steady.

In front of them, Qin Yuran and Song Meiyu were also asleep. Qin Yuran was in the aisle seat, her head on the mini table with her hand cushioning it. Her head was turned to the left, as if looking at the sleeping Song Meiyu, who was facing Qin Yuran’s direction. Connecting the two was a wired earphone, making the moment warm and intimate.

Meanwhile, at the seats behind all of the guests, many staff members were also asleep, hugging the equipment assigned to them tightly. The bus radiated a calm and serene atmosphere, cooling down the growing heat from outside.

Su Wanyan turned off her phone, calmly placing it on the table. She then shifted her attention to Mo Yan, who had already finished drinking her milk. Su Wanyan smiled and calmly put the empty bottle in Mo Yan’s travel bag. She then gently unstrapped Mo Yan from her baby seat to burp her.

After Mo Yan let out a loud burp, that caused Su Wanyan to laugh loudly but fondly, Su Wanyan gently returned Mo Yan into her baby seat, strapping her firmly and securely again. Su Wanyan took her phone and continued scrolling through Weibo.

As Su Wanyan read article after article from the medical industry, she also came across some posts about Mo Xingxue. She immediately gave those positive ones likes, a small smile on her face.

While Su Wanyan was scrolling, she stopped her motion and stared at an ad in front of her. It was for a startup company. The ad had a clean, appealing design that made it easy on the eyes. Su Wanyan clicked on it and was immediately greeted by well-written text. She smiled and patiently read through all of it. Fortunately, the contents were easy to understand, even for someone like her who didn’t know much about business.

Su Wanyan reached the bottom, where it said they were looking for investors and had left their contact number. Su Wanyan smiled and immediately copied the number, contacting them.

A pleasant day to you all.

Su Wanyan started, calmly tapping her right hand on the armrest. Immediately, the person on the other side replied quickly.

Good morning, kind sire/madame! What can we do for you today?

The other replied, causing Su Wanyan to chuckle and shake her head at the humor coming through the screen.

Are you guys by chance still looking for investors?

Su Wanyan typed away, an unreadable glint in her eyes. She glanced at Gu Chengze in the corner of her eye and unconsciously let out a chuckle.

Ah, yes.

The other replied, before sending all the information again, as if wanting to keep Su Wanyan interested. Su Wanyan smiled and shook her head.

I think your business has a bright future. Will you be willing to have me as an investor?

Su Wanyan typed again, cutting off the rambling of the other person. Fortunately, it worked as the sender slowed down.

...Are you certain?

Reading that, Su Wanyan let out a soft chuckle.

Of course I am! You guys need 1 million yuan for commencing your plan, no?

Su Wanyan asked, leaning back on her seat, looking peaceful and laid-back.

Ah, yes! You can just send it to the bank account we left on the ad.

The person replied, even through chat, their disbelief clear to Su Wanyan. Su Wanyan smiled again. She opened one of her bank apps. What greeted her were many zeros that Su Wanyan couldn’t even figure out how many there were in her account.

Su Wanyan calmly navigated the process to send money, and after handling it, she immediately sent it to the company.

Did you get the money?

Su Wanyan asked kindly, even putting a cute emoticon.

Yes! We’re on it already, Miss! Thanks for trusting our company.. although, don’t you want to sign a contract first before sending the money?

The other speaker kindly asked, expressing their worry about Su Wanyan’s money.

Oh, this is okay. I trust your company won’t do that, no?

Su Wanyan asked, a teasing smirk forming.

We won’t, Miss! Our loyalty is to the company, as you are now a major investor, we are loyal to you, Miss.

Su Wanyan smiled reading that. So they were described as in the novel.. that makes sense.

After talking a few more times and exchanging pleasantries, Su Wanyan finally put away her phone. She looked at Mo Yan sleeping peacefully and quietly gave the little baby a peck on the cheek. I’ll make sure you, your jiejie, and your mom will live a good life, Su Wanyan vowed inwardly. She then looked at Gu Chengze in her row, glaring at him. Even if it meant stealing from him, Su Wanyan thought, laughing lightly.

Meanwhile, in a far-away rundown office, the staff members were celebrating the good news from their CEO. "The tough days are over, guys!" The CEO repeated herself, her voice filled with excitement. The staff cheered again, howling and whistling like a bunch of high schoolers who had just won a big game.

While the company was noisy and lively, a woman was seen sitting there calmly, looking at the CEO intently. The CEO looked up at her, and when their eyes met, the CEO turned her gaze away, coughing lightly. Earning a soft chuckle from the woman who was looking at her with hearts in her eyes.

"This investor trusted us, so in return, we must repay it tenfold," the CEO said, as if she wasn’t giving a motivational speech but instead launching a campaign. "Do you all hear me?" the CEO asked after her magnificent and marvelous speech.

The staff members nodded, cracking their necks and hands as if they were about to enter the zone. Seeing that, the CEO smiled and nodded in satisfaction. "Now, let’s go back to work," the CEO said, clapping her hands energetically.

The staff members nodded and started leaving her office. After they dispersed, only the CEO and the woman who was sitting alone remained. The CEO slumped back on her chair and began typing furiously.

The woman smiled at the sight of that. She moved behind the CEO and towered over her, before gently massaging the back of the CEO’s neck and shoulders. The two continued their work, but as the woman pressed on a certain spot, the CEO let out a soft moan, causing the woman’s actions to pause for a moment.

But after getting over that, the woman continued working normally as if nothing had happened. The two continued in silence again, and after working for thirty full minutes, the CEO stretched out her stiff neck and upper body. As she attempted a side-to-side exercise, she couldn’t help but flinch at the pain she felt at her waist.

She then glared at the woman who was guilty of that, but instead of feeling sorry, the woman just shrugged. The CEO glared at her, then sighed. "There’s no point arguing with you," the CEO murmured, causing the woman to chuckle.

"Who was it that opened their door last night?" the woman asked, leaning down to the CEO’s ear, who immediately pushed her away, turning beet red as a tomato. "You.. you get away from me, psycho!" the CEO said, looking like a cat that had its tail stepped on. "Begone thot, go away! I’m a man of God!" the CEO said randomly.

Instead of being offended, the woman just smiled and reached out her hand to the CEO’s hair. "No," the woman said simply, patting the CEO’s hair as she grumbled. The woman smiled but couldn’t help turning thoughtful again. Twenty, huh? The woman thought, before smiling and looking at her adorable CEO.
