Chapter 2958: Wool Over Their Eyes
The Champions of Olympus returned back to the surface using the emergency gate that is placed at the bottom floor of the Ruins of Etna. This can only be activated by relics provided by the Olympian Gods which is why only they can activate it when they are in the room. Seeing that only the first seal shows signs of deterioration, they immediately reported it back so that the seal can be fixed by another demigod that has that kind of ability.
When the Champions of Olympus finally vanished from the room, the space suddenly began to shift as the statues of the Olympian Gods that were in pristine condition started to turn old and looking close to breaking. The entire room finally returned to what it truly looked like and it was none other than a very old looking altar that is not dedicated to the Olympian Gods but the Primordial Calamity Typhon.
"I guess having a deal with that jerk came in handy. I still do not like how he demanded such a thing but I can at least acknowledge his strength." Namea stated as she was the one that encountered Eldritch first when he descended to the floor that they are currently in.
Eldritch was the one that descended first as his true goal was not really the chimera or anything but an item that can transform his skill into a more powerful one. He already showed the effects of the skill earlier and that is the controlling of the flesh golems to basically revive a dead monster. He still needs more fine tuning but Eldritch believed that this kind of thing is needed if he intends to proceed with his plans in the future.
Even though Eldritch did not want to admit or like, the Primordial Calamity Typhon is not an entity that he can demand something from. Even his patron god told him that he cannot defeat the Primordial Calamity Typhon despite devouring some lesser dark gods. The Primordial Calamity Typhon is the bane of all that is divine and that is something that even the dark and distorted gods fear as their power is still rooted in divine energy.
Since it was Eldritch and not the Champions of Olympus that reached the lowest floor first, the Primordial Calamity Typhon did not bother warning his apostles about it. In terms of strength, there is two amongst his apostles that can deal with Eldritch as they are in the same level. It also adds that Eldritch did not appear hostile which is why the Primordial Calamity Typhon gave it a mission instead of having his apostles kill him.
The Primordial Calamity Typhon knew that its plans must not be revealed now or else everything will be back to square one. The Primordial Calamity Typhon allowed Eldritch to have the item that can transform the skill that he wants in exchange for his help. Eldritch was ordered to halt the progress of the Champions of Olympus in the sixth floor but he must make sure that the he does not know the details about the Primordial Calamity Typhon.
Eldritch did not find this bothersome and easily accepted the task in exchange for the skill upfront. He was sent back to the sixth floor where all of the monsters he killed have already respawned. He then experimented on the chimeras there until the Champions of Olympus reached him. The fight happened and it was enough time for all of the Apostles of Typhon to coordinate with each other to hide an entire dungeon floor’s real look.
It took all of the present Apostles of Typhon to create an illusion that was enough to fool even demigods that can see through lies. In fact, the Apostles of Typhon were glad that Alcides did not come as he would have seen through the illusion spell that they have crafted. It is said that Alcides eyesight is different from other champions as he can see through lies and illusions.
"It was still quite task to fool Diane who is the Champion of Artemis. The fact that the illusion managed to fool the famed huntress then a little bit of weakening is fine." Nodal stated as all of them actually had to sacrifice having a weakened body for a few days to make the illusion almost real.
The Primordial Calamity Typhon did not have such power to do so but they have Mera who is incredibly great in crafting potions. With their alchemist and the abundant energy that the Primordial Calamity Typhon can release, they were able to create the last floor into a space where it fools even reality. An illusion so close to reality that even a lesser god might be fooled if they do not have ocular abilities.
"It only bought us time though. They will surely send someone to fix the Seal created by the God of the Seas Poseidon as we made it look like it has deteriorated a little." Mera stated as the reality is quite different from the illusion.
The Seal of Poseidon has already been completely destroyed and his statue has crumbled to the point that only rubble is left. The next seal was also broken just today which is the Seal of Ares and all of the golden apples they stole was used to counteract that. The next seal that they need to destroy would be the Seal of Hera which needs the sacrifice of a divine healing relic which is why they need the Golden Fleece but they have to postpone it as there would be some demigods that will definitely come.
"They will come to the dungeon to fix the already broken Seal of Poseidon. Do you think that the God of Seas Poseidon will come to fix it himself?" Lernea asked.
"I do not think that is possible because the Olympian Gods cannot descend here because of the energy of our master. Did you not see that even the champions earlier did not even use divine descent despite them having difficulties against Eldritch? If they used that then they would have been able to easily deal with Eldritch or at least pressure him more but they did not." Nodal stated as a large shadow is cast upon them again.
"We greet our master!" All of the Apostles of Typhon stated as they kneeled.
The large suddenly then became smaller and smaller until it became compact. The shadow became the same size as that of an adult man and morphed into that shape. They were now in the presence of a shadow vessel created by the Primordial Calamity Typhon.
"You have done well, my apostles. You managed to also hide the true state of the seals even if I did help out a little. I guess I should reward all of you for this." The Primordial Calamity Typhon stated as he waved his hand and a tyrannical energy came out of it that seeped into the bodies of his apostles.
The Apostles of Typhon suddenly found themselves having stronger bodies as if their bloodlines have been purified to some extent. All of them have monster bloodlines but it is not pure just like any being that got them through transfer. With the energy that was given to them by the Primordial Calamity Typhon, all of them had their bloodlines purified to a high degree that some of the sealed skills have been unlocked.
The Apostles of Typhon marveled at the new power they received as a reward for destroying the second seal. If they destroy all five seals then the Primordial Calamity Typhon will definitely purify all of their bloodlines and they might achieve the status of a lesser god. The Primordial Calamity Typhon told them the secret of divinity that becoming a god is all about being recognized be it terror or respect. Also, all of them are actually classified as demigod beasts since they are no longer human which means the hurdle is easier for them to become a lesser god.
"Thank you for the gift, master." The Apostles of Typhon stated as they bowed to the floor as they know that the Primordial Calamity Typhon likes such show of reverence.
"I see that all of you have become more useful now." The shadow vessel of the Primordial Calamity Typhon stated as it created a shadow throne to sit on.
"We thank you for the praise but it seems that there would be demigods that come to ’fix’ the Seal of Poseidon. The spell that the master has taught us can only be performed if at least five of us are present. In order to collect the fleece, a group of five is also needed as we will need to infiltrate a divine realm." Lernea stated as she has the best way of speech amongst all of them when talking to the Primordial Calamity Typhon.
"All of you do not need to worry about the dungeon because I have full control over it now." The shadow vessel of the Primordial Calamity Typhon stated as he snapped and the room suddenly shifted to what it looked like in the eyes of the Champions of Olympus.
