Chapter 69: Recharge

Firlia stood by the table, organizing her documents.

Lirael checked the draw weight on the newly purchased composite bows.

Caelindra wrote rapidly in her portfolio, muttering about supply logistics.

Thirty Barbarians stood in war armor, conducting their final equipment checks.

Overlooking the chaos, Kane leaned over the war map.

’Too many variables,’ Kane thought, tracing a route with his finger.

’Menual is hiding something else. I can feel it.’

"Everyone out for ten minutes," Thora announced.

She simply appeared at the manor door, speaking with the calm certainty of a woman who owned the space.

Silence swept through the courtyard instantly.

Firlia paused mid-sentence.

Caelindra froze with her quill hovering above her parchment.

Nobody dared to argue.

Thora possessed a tone that demanded obedience, a quiet authority born from being with Kane before anyone else even existed in his world.

"Ten minutes," Thora repeated smoothly.

Firlia rolled up her documents without a word. Caelindra snapped her portfolio shut.

Lirael set the bow gently on a crate.

Brak vanished three seconds before anyone else even registered the command, his survival instincts perfectly tuned.

Once the courtyard emptied, Thora walked directly to Kane.

Slipping her hand into his, she guided him into a private corridor tucked between the east wall and a storage building, hidden from the street and the upper windows.

"We have forty-eight hours before they cross the border," Kane started, his mind still trapped in tactical planning.

"I know," Thora interrupted softly.

"Ten minutes."

’She reads me better than my own system,’ Kane realized, feeling the buzzing in his skull begin to slow down.

Sinking gracefully to her knees on the stones, she looked up at him.

"You’ve been standing over that map since before dawn," she scolded gently.

"You think better when your mind isn’t spinning out of control. I know how you work."

Her fingers skillfully unfastened his belt, tugging it open with practiced need.

"Thora, Now’s not-"

"Let me do this," Thora whispered, her voice low.

"Then you can go save the rest of the empire."

Looking down at her, Kane felt a sudden wave of affection.

She was there from the very beginning.

Reaching down, he buried his hand in her soft hair, not to control but to anchor himself in her warmth.

"Thora...," Kane murmured, his voice already rough.

She paused, looking up at him questioningly, lips parted and glistening.

"After this war is over," Kane promised, holding her gaze.

"We talk about what comes next. Not the empire. Just us."

A beautiful expression softened her features.

It wasn’t surprise, and she wasn’t performing for his ego.

It was the look of a woman who had been endlessly patient, finally hearing the words she didn’t even know she desperately needed to hear.

"After the war," Thora agreed, a small smile touching her lips.

Pulling him free, she wrapped her warm hand around his hardening cock, giving it a slow stroke as it swelled to full, veined rigidity in her grip.

She leaned in and took him into her mouth with a wet glide, her lips stretching around his girth as she sank, taking him deep in one smooth motion until he bumped the back of her throat.

Fuck... look at her, Kane thought, his breath catching.

On her knees for me like this, so fucking perfect.

She took her time, moving with unhurried precision.

Her tongue swirled around the sensitive underside with expert flicks, tracing every ridge while her cheeks hollowed with each sucking pull.

Hot saliva coated him as she bobbed deeper, her throat relaxing to swallow around the head of his cock, milking him with tight contractions.

The wet sounds of her mouth, soft gurgles and lewd slurps, filled the space between them as she worked him with filthy devotion. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Gods, that mouth...

One hand cupped his balls, gently massaging them while the other stroked the base she couldn’t fit, twisting with pressure.

She knew exactly how to please him, sucking harder on the upstroke, letting her tongue flutter against the slit on the downstroke, then plunging back down until her nose pressed against his pelvis.

Her eyes watered slightly from the depth, but she never broke rhythm, moaning softly around his cock so the vibrations buzzed straight through his shaft and into his tightening core.

Leaning against the cool stone wall, Kane let his eyes flutter shut, jaw clenched as pleasure surged through him.

I’d kill for this woman.

Muffled sounds echoed faintly around them.

Distant city chatter filtered over the walls while warriors shifted impatiently outside the gates.

Thora kept sucking him with relentless intensity until his thighs trembled and his cock pulsed hard between her lips.

When he finally erupted, she took every thick spurt down her throat with greedy swallows, milking him dry until he was spent and shuddering.

When she finally finished, Thora stood up and straightened her clothes.

Cupping his face with both hands, she studied his expression for three seconds.

"Now you’re ready," she declared proudly.

Turning on her heel, she walked casually back into the courtyard.

Adjusting his belt, Kane followed her out thirty seconds later.

Nobody in the reformed group uttered a single comment.

Firlia studied her documents intensely.

Caelindra reviewed her open portfolio.

Lirael went back to testing the bows.

The warriors stood perfectly at attention.

Refusing to make eye contact, Brak silently handed Kane a cup of water.

Drinking it quickly, Kane tossed the cup aside and clapped his hands together.

"Alright," Kane announced, his voice carrying renewed, lethal energy.

"Here’s how we move."

Calling out orders, he positioned his troops in under twenty minutes.

"Sira, take the first group of ten to the manor’s rooftop," Kane instructed, handing her a composite bow.

"I want elevated angles covering all main approaches into the district."

"Already calculating the distances," Sira called back, gesturing for her squad to follow her upstairs.

"Brak, you command the second group," Kane continued.

"Take the veterans. Secure the street-level perimeter. Distribute those five siege crossbows at the choke points."

"We are setting up a defensive line, Chief?" Brak asked eagerly.

"You’re making a statement," Kane corrected him.

"Anyone approaching this manor needs to see Bloodfang warriors in full war armor before they see anything else."

"Understood," Brak grinned, grabbing an iron-alloy shield.

"The final group moves with me," Kane finished.
