Chapter 98: Shelf Talk"_1

Notice:

The book is going live this afternoon.

It’s probably because I’ve been writing for a long time, or perhaps due to my profession, but I am not feeling nervous or inclined to hold a microphone and lament about my struggles. I just want to have a sincere chat with all my readers.

I ventured into forensic reasoning genres out of personal interest. Long-time readers know that the male leads in my three books are all in this profession—it’s fulfilling a dream of mine to be a forensic doctor.

But this genre is really difficult to write. Selecting material, setting up plot twists, and laying out clues all need to be designed well in advance. I discuss legal issues with lawyer friends and friends from the courts (readers in the book group might have seen the screenshots I posted). It’s common for me to pour over a large number of professional books for just one scene. In summary, it’s extremely taxing on the brain and even on the hair.

I am a perfectionist after all. I strive for everything to be logical and also respect the natural progression of cases. It’s not easy to maintain this balance, but I find it endlessly enjoyable.

Because of my passion!

I love the thrill of uncovering secrets, the joy of you joining me in sifting through the cases, discerning truth from lies, tracking down clues, finding the culprits, punishing evil and promoting good, and, of course, I am even happier when you enjoy it!

Long-term readers are aware that I’m not a full-time author. Because of mask-related issues, my job has been unusually busy over the past two years, with hardly any holidays, which is why my editor scolded me for not starting a new book in eight months!

Boo hoo hoo~

I’ve really been very busy!

Ha ha, just complaining a bit—Sheng Xia, don’t protest.

Like you, I hustle every day for survival. It is only in the quiet of the night, sitting in front of my computer, that I narrate one tragic or shocking story after another, completely immersed in the joy of storytelling. I delight in the feeling of having an audience, and it gives me a unique sense of accomplishment.

Forensic doctor Zhou Ning, goofy Mr. Zhao, ace detective Xu Dayuan, defender Liu Yongxin, and many other characters all come to life in "The Novice Coroner". Their laughter and anger, their joys and sorrows, and the suspense and mysteries of each case—I hope you will continue to accompany me on this journey.

Thank you to the fans who have followed me from my previous books. Receiving rewards for the new book is the most direct encouragement and recognition for an author, and I’m so moved by your acknowledgement!

Don’t worry, I remember the updates I owe you—twelve Chapters in total. Oh, let me say it again: for each cumulative alliance leader or direct reward to the alliance leader, I will add an extra Chapter. For every ten silver rewards, an additional Chapter; if the monthly tickets exceed one thousand, another Chapter. It’s not that I’m being stingy, it’s just that I’m totally squeezed out!

Alright, after 260,000 words, I’ve finally made it to this day. At 12:20, "The Novice Coroner" officially goes live. Refresh the page if there’s any delay. Today, there are five updates—14,000 words as a gesture of my sincerity. I hope all my readers will support the official subscription. I am on my knees, thanking all you lovely readers, both old and new!

Going live is just the beginning, yet it is a test of an author’s abilities. I need your support, dear readers!
