Chapter 1098: Chapter 1094: A Long and Agonizing Process

"Asher Land..." Sophie Smith walked up to him and tugged at his sleeve, "Why don’t you let Irene stay here, and then hire a professional rehabilitation team to help her? Isn’t that the same?"

Asher and Irene both looked at her with puzzled eyes. Sophie simply lowered her gaze, avoiding their questioning stares.

Irene admitted that she was truly grateful for Sophie stepping up to say such things. She then looked at Asher somewhat earnestly.

"Sophie, are you sure about this?" It was just a simple question. Sophie hesitated for a moment but then nodded.

Asher didn’t say anything more and turned to leave the room. He went to the study and called Robert Williams, asking him to arrange for a professional rehabilitation team for Irene.

Rehabilitation is undoubtedly a long and agonizing process.

In recent days, the entire Land Family was in a state of anxiety because of Irene. Sometimes, Irene’s actions were simply unreal, behaving in ways a normal person wouldn’t. Whenever she showed a craving for drugs, she would go to any lengths, nearly driven to madness. Some of the maids were even injured by her and no longer dared to approach her room.

It was time again for lunch delivery to Irene.

Downstairs, some maids were pushing and shoving, unwilling to go.

"I delivered breakfast today, so it’s your turn now for lunch." A maid pushed the tray towards another, recalling the morning with residual fear.

Irene had somehow found a fruit knife and deeply cut her arm with it. She had been harshly scolded by Asher for this, especially since he had instructed them to remove all sharp objects from Irene’s room, but who knew she would have hidden a knife...

"I won’t go, I won’t go, it’s too dangerous!" The other maid kept refusing, preferring to clean every inch of the villa rather than delivering a meal to Irene.

They argued for quite a while, and the food was nearly cold, yet no one wanted to take it up.

"What on earth are you doing?" Sophie wasn’t noticed standing behind them, having overheard their conversation clearly.

"Miss Smith..." The maids looked down, too scared to speak.

Sophie walked to their side, glanced at the food, and spoke to the maids, "Make a new meal, I’ll deliver it later."

"But..."

"What are you hesitating for?" Sophie gave them a warning look, and the maids quickly rushed to the kitchen. They were relieved Sophie offered to deliver the meal, but they also prayed Sophie wouldn’t get hurt by Irene, or Asher wouldn’t spare them.

The maids promptly prepared another meal, and Sophie did not hesitate to take the tray to Irene’s room.

Due to a recent relapse, Irene was forcibly restrained with ropes and tied to a chair.

Besides Irene, there was a doctor and several caretakers in the room, and Robert Williams was there too.

"Miss Smith." Robert approached her and took the food from her hands, "You should leave now; Miss Irene’s condition is quite unstable."

"Uh..." Sophie hesitated to speak.

"What’s the matter?" Robert inquired quietly.

"Is it really necessary to tie her up like this?" Sophie glanced at Irene’s wrists, noticing the red marks the ropes had left.
