Chapter 913: Chapter 913: Selected_1

Hannah just stared at him quietly, her gaze laden with puzzlement.

Her pupils were darker than the pitch-black night, yet paradoxically, they seemed all the more lucid, looking as deep as a shattered starry sky.

Hayes blurted out as if possessed, "Hannah Winter, are you wearing colored contact lenses?"

Otherwise, why would her eyes look so beautiful?

It was a bizarre question and, after asking it, Hayes wanted to slap himself.

Hannah frowned, her face a mix of seriousness and concern, "Hayes, have you lost your mind?"

Feeling the heat rush to his head and aware of the scrutinizing gazes of those around, Hayes hurriedly straightened up and averted his gaze, murmuring without much force: "No."

The assistant beside hastily tidied up the scripts and materials that Hayes had knocked over earlier.

Louis Snyder watched the scene from behind the camera, his grip on the script tightening, and even though his demeanor remained gentle and harmless, the expression in his eyes darkened completely.

Jack then spoke up, "Let’s continue."

Although Louis was essentially a shoo-in for the part, the proper audition process still had to be carried out.

The role of the second male lead had been replaced too abruptly, and the performances of the few actors who came to audition were all barely passable.

It wasn’t that their looks didn’t fit the part — their lines weren’t fluent, and their acting was awkward.

Unexpectedly, Louis seemed exceedingly familiar with the scenes and lines in the script, as if he had prepared for a long time.

In the end, it wasn’t so strange that he was chosen.

All the while, Hayes ruffled his hair in irritation, wanting to say something but ultimately holding back, and left early.

Jack, now the director with plenty of tasks at hand, couldn’t shake off the habit of worrying about Hannah’s work. Before leaving, he specifically reminded her, "Louis’s fans are vicious, they hassle you and berate you every day. If I could find an actor better than him, I definitely wouldn’t have chosen him. When filming starts, remember to keep your distance from him."

After saying this, he glanced again at the boy beside him who seemed eager to learn and excessively obedient, and felt a sense of dissonance.

Hannah listened intently, nodding obediently, "You’re always worrying about so much, aren’t you afraid of going bald early?"

Jack tugged at the corner of his mouth, subconsciously touching his head, and after realizing, he glared at her, "Stop jinxing me."

Hannah flashed him a radiant smile.

Jack sighed and adjusted the slightly ill-fitting floral shirt he was wearing before leaving with the rest of the crew.

There were still many things to be busy with in the production team.

Louis quickly caught up with Hannah, who was walking ahead.

Even in winter, there was good sunlight, and it bathed the young man, giving him a vibrant, youthful glow, even without the specially tailored school uniform for the play.

At the moment, he was looking down at the person beside him with an indescribably focused and tender gaze, "Sister, were you satisfied with my performance just now?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

The boy’s intense and stubborn affection was even more emphatic than before.

Hannah stopped walking and looked up at him.

Under the tree, the dappled sunlight fell mostly on her, making her fair skin appear even more delicately white and tender.

She responded to him with a smile.

Louis thought of another scene he had witnessed and couldn’t help but compare. He realized that her smile now didn’t come close to how soft and clingy it was when directed at that man.

It just wasn’t the same.

The burning blade cut into his heart, yet the smile on the young man’s face grew even more innocent and pure.

Hannah simply glanced at him and gave a rather fair assessment, "Not bad."
