Chapter 876: Chapter 876: Will It Be the Same_1

But this wine is not something that everyone can taste.

In the moonlight, the man carefully shielded the girl in his arms, then gently supported the back of her neck and kissed downwards with tender and passionate movements, laden with deep affection.

They were like lovers reunited after a long separation, with every single action cautious and careful.

He treasured her as the jewel of his heart, yet it always seemed like his love was never enough.

The moonlight outlined the girl’s soft figure as well as the man’s sturdy form.

Feeling the strength around her waist, Hannah quietly tiptoed, but the man steadied her, willingly bending his back for her.

Even the waves lapping at the shore composed the most beautiful and romantic symphony.

It was hard to let go and hard to part.

Arnold Simmons stepped back slightly, staring intently at the young girl’s flushed cheeks, her eyes misty as if veiled. He chuckled softly, speaking the words that pleased her the most with joy.

"I’ve missed you, every single day."

She smiled, cupping the man’s cheeks and kissing him, her voice tender, "Mr. Simmons, I’ve missed you too."

The sea breeze was cold.

It blew in gusts, chilling to the very heart.

Yet it carried the girl’s soft words to Louis Snyder’s ears, stabbing his heart like a knife.

It mercilessly reopened those old scars, blood gushing out, excruciating pain, nearly suffocating him.

Louis kept his hands in his pockets, looking up at the dark sky, the stars twinkling but not reaching the depths of his pitch-black eyes.

He didn’t rush out, nor did he get angry.

What overcame him was a sense of pain and powerlessness, as if he were isolated in a separate space, with only the sound of his own breathing and heartbeat in his ears.

Beat after beat.

He suddenly remembered lying in the hospital room when Hannah brought dinner, only to see him and Tiffany Lynch talking intimately.

Had she felt like he did now at that time?

The sharp edges of the rocks behind him gradually cut through his skin, but the young man seemed to feel nothing, sliding down slowly until he collapsed onto the soft fine sand.

He leaned back, the stars above turned to icy tears.

The thick taste of blood in his throat almost made him faint.

So you’ve had someone you liked all along, haven’t you?

Jackie Qualls knew, George River might have known, but only he had been a fool from start to finish.

The irony was that even so, he still couldn’t let her go.

Louis didn’t even know how he had returned to his room, leaning against the door.

The interior was dark and empty, without light and without stars.

"Louis, you like braised pork; how about I make it for you every day... Don’t you like it anymore? Then I’ll make something else."

"Louis, I’ve brought you something, can you come out and take it... Not convenient? Well, I... Okay, I’ll go back first. Be careful while filming."

That humble tone of voice, her timidity and cowardice, she was so fragile it seemed like anyone could step on her.

Seeing her, he would remember how he once was, and the feeling of resistance and disgust would surge like a tide, drowning him countless times.

How long had it been? So long that he had long since moved out of that dilapidated rental house. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

He had tried to escape that place he considered a nightmare countless times, but now he found himself missing the life and energy there.

Or perhaps, he missed that person who wasn’t very smart but would give him everything just for a word from him.

Hannah.

Louis lowered his head, curling his entire body in on itself.
