Chapter 842: Chapter 842 In the beginning_1

Jack Stewart couldn’t help but curse George River’s ancestors for eighteen generations, hurling insults like treacherous scoundrel and jerk with great fervor.

Matthew Quach pouted and looked up at Hannah, "I’m not young anymore; I understand everything you guys are saying. That man is not a good person."

He silently thought to himself, even Hannah doesn’t know.

In fact, Matthew Quach had seen George River before, on the night of the group’s formation. Although he was just sitting in the audience at the time, from his angle, he could clearly see that man.

He knew it when he saw the way that man looked at his sister; he probably liked her. But later, when he heard Mom complaining at home, he learned something else.

That man had hurt his sister, snatched her first place and gave it to another woman.

What a jerk.

He thought to himself at the time that when he grew up, he would definitely avenge his sister.

Hannah didn’t understand what was going on in Matthew Quach’s mind, only helplessly tugged at Jack Stewart’s clothes, "There are children here."

Jack Stewart realized what he was doing, suppressed the urge to rant, and called an assistant to take the child back.

Matthew Quach reluctantly left, not forgetting to give his family address to Hannah before leaving, insisting she must come to visit him.

Hannah waved her hand at the wronged Matthew Quach.

On this side, Jack Stewart had already closed the car door and asked again, "You didn’t agree to go, right?"

After saying this, he nervously looked at Hannah’s expression through the rearview mirror.

She had gone for an audition today, so she wasn’t wearing any makeup. After running around outside, the flush on her face hadn’t faded yet. She leaned back in the car seat, looking drowsy.

"No."

Jack Stewart breathed a sigh of relief, "That’s good. I was worried you were being lovestruck again. At first..." He paused, "Never mind, the past is not worth mentioning."

Those memories surely aren’t pleasant; he still gets upset thinking about them. Just when he saw Hannah finally stand up from the shadow of that jerk, he couldn’t let her fall back in again.

The car traveled some distance and while waiting at a red light, Hannah suddenly said, "George River just told me he broke up with Tiffany Lynch."

Jack Stewart’s hand, holding the steering wheel, tightened, pretending to reach for a water bottle, "Actually, that news has already spread in the industry. I didn’t tell you because I was worried about you..."

He unscrewed the bottle cap and passed the water to Hannah in the back seat.

Hannah took a sip of water and, seeing Jack Stewart’s defensive look, suddenly laughed, "Worried I’d make the same mistake again, huh?"

Jack Stewart huffed, the meaning was self-evident.

The car started, the cold wind howled outside, and on this rare sunny day, not many pedestrians could be seen on the roads, but the number of vehicles seemed to have doubled.

Probably all taking advantage of the holiday to go out for trips.

Hannah looked for a while, not knowing how to explain the past to Jack Stewart, and finally just sighed, "Actually, I really don’t like George River."

Jack Stewart responded noncommittally, "Mm-hmm, you don’t like him."

Hannah emphasized, "Really, I don’t like him."

This time, there was a long pause before Jack Stewart’s voice was heard again.

"Yeah, I believe you."

After all, such a man had nothing to make Hannah obsessed. If there really needed to be an explanation, it was probably those two years he had charmed her.

Now, she had finally woken up.

He looked at her again through the rearview mirror.

...She was asleep, a picture of sweetness.

The green room.

A few days later, Hannah received news that she passed the audition, but the production company’s intentions seemed a bit odd.

They said she had passed and asked Hannah to cooperate with the publicity first.
