Chapter 754: Chapter 754: Doing Very Well Now
"You used to like him a lot."
There was a slight coolness in the gentle voice.
Hannah sighed helplessly, "You just said it yourself, that was the past. Didn’t you also say that my choice in men was poor when we first met?"
Arnold Simmons frowned, "It was bad in the past."
Hannah laughed and comforted him with a soft voice, "Yes, it was bad in the past, it’s much better now."
Arnold Simmons was content, holding her and gently rubbing his chin against her head.
Although he only had one drink, meeting her made him feel drunk. The displeasure in his heart could almost be ignored.
Indeed, there was a moment of unease.
As a man himself, he knew very well what George River’s intense gaze meant.
He could ignore all other men, except for George River, the man who once captured his little girl’s heart.
"Arnold Simmons, I don’t like George River."
Soft words reached his ears.
Hannah stood on her toes, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck, her lips touching his earlobe, the purity of her skin contrasting against his, "I didn’t like him in the past, don’t like him now, and will never like him in the future, I will only ever like you."
She thought that she didn’t need to explain all this, but she found out that Arnold Simmons could be quite jealous, more than she could have imagined.
Arnold Simmons leaned down to kiss her, "Remember what you said."
Remember it for the rest of my life.
They left the rooftop and made their way back to the room, not meeting anyone along the way.
Hannah poked her head out of Arnold Simmons’s embrace, her hair was a little messy, her cheeks flushed red, she was alluring, "Arnold Simmons, aren’t you worried at all?"
Arnold Simmons gently wiped the smudged lipstick off her lips, "What is there to worry about?"
She clung tightly to him, leaning her whole body into his arms, "Back on the terrace, they were planning to attack the Simmons Clan."
Arnold Simmons leaned back against the headboard, the girl in his arms, his hand caressing her porcelain cheek, a hint of cold indifference curling on his lips, "It was never really mine."
Hannah sat up, somewhat puzzled.
She didn’t understand the intricacies of the business world, but she knew that Arnold Simmons was the head of the Simmons Family. Even if others were unhappy, no one would dare go against his orders.
Arnold Simmons raised his hand to rub her head, and explained to her gently, "In the Simmons Clan, I only own five percent of the shares, strictly speaking, it’s not really mine."
His actions were gentle, and even while discussing such things, he never seemed bothered.
Who would have thought that the head of the Simmons Clan only owned five percent of the shares? If it weren’t for his ruthless tactics and successful alliances with other shareholders, his position wouldn’t be secure.
But even after securing his position, he still faced opposition from all sides.
The old man of the Simmons Family was always wary of his own son, showing blatant favoritism, despite them sharing the same bloodline.
If he truly disliked him, he could simply not have brought him back home. But, he had brought him back, yet never once fulfilled his duty as a father, even allowing others to bully him.
Hannah felt a pang of heartache. She hugged him tightly, her voice shaking, "It doesn’t matter, I can take care of you, we don’t need other people’s things."
The man chuckled softly, lightly patting her back and whispering reassurances, "Good, you’ll take care of me."
