Chapter 708: Chapter 708: Accomplish Together

Otherwise, Hannah wouldn’t have been able to help herself from going on strike after just a short while. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

All Vincent could see was Hannah; the astonishment and praise in the eyes of others were insignificant to him.

Hannah nodded, lightly tapping Vincent’s forehead with the green foxtail in her hand, she smiled and said, "You’re doing wonderfully. Two more left, you can finish them up."

Vincent nodded, his heart filled with joy.

The staff members were on the verge of tears. What was originally Hannah’s task was now being taken over by an idiot who had popped out of nowhere.

Worse still, they didn’t dare make a sound for fear of disturbing him, and so they could do nothing but watch.

Pitied but afraid to speak up.

Who would have thought someone constantly smiling would be so frightening when their face is cold? They were nothing like their weak and delicate onscreen persona.

Just as Vincent had completed the second project and was about to start on the third, the assistant director finally returned with his crew.

He was relatively smart. Knowing Vincent must be a villager, he directly brought Benjamin Wilson along, as well as a few other villagers armed with wooden sticks and hemp ropes.

To those unaware, it looked as if they were about to administer vigilante justice as in feudal times.

Well, almost.

Benjamin Wilson and his gang barged in aggressively, and upon spotting Vincent who was crouching next to Hannah, charged straight at him.

The staff members instinctively tried to intercept them, but the assistant director loudly proclaimed, "They are all people I brought in. They are simply here to take this fool away."

The fool, of course, was Vincent.

Everyone thought it over, realizing that after all this is their own village’s matter, so they didn’t stop them.

Benjamin saw Vincent, and Vincent naturally noticed him too. Forgetting everything in his hand, he bristled up, anger and a trace of subconscious fear flashing in his eyes.

But in front of Hannah, he didn’t want to back off. Instead, he squared up to them in an anomaly for his usual disposition.

Benjamin was taken aback by Vincent’s sudden defiant stance, but, stuck in his ways, he blurted out, "You little beast, who allowed you to run around? Follow me now or you will regret the consequences."

He made threatening remarks while a few villagers advanced with wooden sticks, ready to use violence to subdue Vincent.

Vincent was surrounded in the middle.

Benjamin noticed Hannah standing aside, he couldn’t help but explain, "Miss Winter, don’t be frightened. This kid’s just a fool from our village. We are going to remove him now. We won’t let him tarnish your sight."

"Is that so?" she chuckled lightly, her voice chilling. "But why do I find all of you far more repelling than Vincent?"

Her words were gently uttered, not resembling a malicious curse, but feeling like a cloud drifting across the sky, stirring up endless imaginations.

Benjamin couldn’t get angry, instead, he approached her with a forced smile, "Miss Winter, you don’t know. This fool isn’t from our village. Nobody knows from which mountaintop he appeared. Initially, Widow Shaw planned to take him in. But who would have thought he would bite and injure her before running away at night. He later fell into the river and became a fool."

He relayed this as if it were an amusing anecdote to woo Hannah over, without considering whether such behavior was lawful.

The onlooking staff members showed disagreement on their faces. The backwards feudal practices of the village were in stark contrast with their beliefs and understanding.
