Chapter 695: Chapter 695: Are You Unhappy?

Vincent couldn’t bear the injustice.

Tears fell onto his palm, leaving a stain. He rubbed his hands furiously, as if he wanted to peel his skin off.

A delicate white face seemed to float before his eyes. He muttered repeatedly, "Don’t despise Vincent, Hannah, please don’t despise Vincent..."

The cold wind scattered the heavy clouds above the night sky, and the moonlight seemed to filter through a layer of white gauze, creating a gauzy haze.

The two of them stopped talking. The courtyard fell completely silent, except for the distant sound of frogs croaking in the rice fields, and the farther off noise of a bustling crowd.

The sounds carried by the wind only emphasized the silence of their small world.

The youth stood still, his tall stature allowing him to gaze down upon the warm and gentle face beside him.

Soft moonlight fell upon her, giving her an ethereal beauty; her dark eyes were pure, like snow melting in a flower’s heart, reflecting both the flower’s delicate charm and the snow’s pure white.

The youth fixed his gaze on her. His beautiful, clean eyes now held a different affection. He softened his voice, "Did you feel unhappy seeing me today, sister?"

His eyelashes trembled slightly, and he exuded a clean, gentle aura. The only thing that wasn’t soft were his eyes, which shone like stars in the cold night.

He stared at the woman beside him, as if he wanted to etch every part of her onto his own eyes, with a tinge of melancholic persistence.

Hannah glanced sideways, meeting the youth’s gaze. Her bright, black eyes held a deep smile, "What do you think?"

Her attitude was neither distant nor indifferent, her voice becoming even softer.

Louis bowed his head, looking a bit lost. He reached out, grasped the end of Hannah’s sleeve and held tightly. He softened his voice, "Sister, I really miss you. But you haven’t contacted me. I’m always worried, have you forgotten me?" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

He clung to her sleeve, wanting to pull her into his embrace, his eyes full of deep affection.

Hannah remained expressionless, pulling her sleeve from the boy’s grasp. Even when she saw his pitiful face, she did not waver. Her voice was lazy, "I’ve been very busy with work, you are not a kid who needs someone by your side 24/7."

Her tone casual, like a man brushingly off his exasperated lover.

"Really?" The youth bowed his head, with strands of black hair falling over his eyes, hiding the faint hint of a flush. He sounded as if wronged yet resigned, "But you always used to like being with me. You would cook for me and take care of me."

Remembering the past, his brow wrinkled. But the discomfort quickly faded, and his voice softened.

She had always warmed him with her affection, although she was merely a year older, she cared for him like a child.

But she never knew, her concern was almost suffocating him, like being forced underwater, unable to breathe. His heart was filled with restlessness and disgust, nothing more.

But when he actually lost it all, he started to panic.

As if torn harshly from a world he was used to.

He just wanted to go back.

The boy’s voice seemed to carry an unwelcome plea. His smile was obedient and flattering, "Sister, can you be good to me like before?"
