Chapter 673: Chapter 673: Reconciliation

Seeing the little butterfly not speaking up, Hilary Quin nudged her.

The little butterfly nearly lost her balance. "Auntie, why are you pushing me?"

Hilary’s smile stiffened, "What are you talking about, child? When did I ever push you?"

The little butterfly wanted to say something, but when she saw the ferocious look in her aunt’s eyes, she had to keep her mouth shut. She felt a little distressed, stomped her foot, and ran off.

All Hilary could do was quickly chase after her.

The meeting ended on a sour note.

Even though Owen Hanson and Hilary Quin weren’t welcomed, for the sake of the show, all the participants eventually gathered in the courtyard.

All the foodstuff that was won today was handed over to James Landon to handle. Owen Hanson, being a man, felt ashamed to just sit there and had to rise and go to the kitchen to help out.

The children were huddled together, playing.

Seeing no one around and the machine still being adjusted, Hilary Quin got up and sat next to Hannah.

No dishes were being served yet, only a plate of melon seeds was on the table.

Red melon seeds, slippery when wet, hard to hold on to, even harder to crack open.

Yet Hannah was eating them with great pleasure, a smile resting at the corner of her mouth as she watched Hilary Quin sit down next to her.

Hilary appeared more casual than she had throughout the day, as if she wanted to make small talk. "The air and scenery here in the mountains are nice, but there’s one thing that’s not convenient – it’s quite troublesome if you want to keep up with the news from outside."

With a faint smile on her face, Hannah reflected the crescent moon in her teacup and responded lazily, "Hmm."

Hilary wasn’t bothered by Hannah’s indifference as you’d expect. Seeing Hannah continuously looking at the distant rice field, she also took a glance, but saw nothing.

She took her gaze back and began speaking on her own, "Hannah Winter, I’m somewhat like your mentor, aren’t I?"

Hannah chuckled faintly as she set her teacup down on the table, making a low sound. "I’m not interested in the outside world, but if it’s something you’re telling me, I might be interested in hearing about it."

Her eyes, filled with a smile, looked clear and gentle under the moonlight.

Even Hilary, a fellow woman, was somewhat dumbfounded. When she finally came to, she snorted, "I’ve always thought you were pretty competent, being so popular in the talent show, with so many powers and interests involved behind the scenes. Even I had no choice but to vote for that woman Tiffany Lynch. You were able to fight for your own justice on your own... it’s just a pity..."

"What’s the pity?" She chuckled, "You think I’m not ruthless enough?"

Hilary scoffed, "If I were you, I would definitely not allow Tiffany Lynch to stay by my side. You probably don’t know yet, but the person behind her is George River from Prideful Entertainment."

Seeing no response from Hannah, Hilary frowned and unwillingly explained, "George River is the big shot, the heir to the River Clan Group. A rich and powerful man like him is willing to invest money in a little trainee to swap her ranking, don’t you feel curious about their relationship?"

Hannah lightly curled her lips into a faint smile, and then lightly said, "Boyfriend, sugar daddy... It couldn’t possibly be that Tiffany Lynch is his stepmother, could it?"

Hilary nearly choked at her words and stared at Hannah before saying, "Because the previous investigation implicated the River Clan, George River has been giving Tiffany Lynch the cold shoulder for quite a while. But recently I heard that Tiffany Lynch has been running to George River almost every day, and it won’t be long before they make up. By then, you’ll have to look out for yourself!"

Hilary was in the mood to watch a good show, she felt uncomfortable being outmaneuvered by Hannah.
