Chapter 599: Chapter 599: Apologize in Person
Once everyone had arrived, Teresa Gordon went straight to today’s topic, "I assume you’ve all seen the online discussions. Tiffany Lynch, Ginny, Heather Harrison, the fact that you three have rigged the voting is now fully public. The internet is loudly calling for your withdrawal from the group, and I’d like to hear what you guys think about this."
Having this matter discussed online was one thing, but publicly announcing it in front of all the team members was another.
Once the vote-rigging incident was disclosed, the other group members’ attitudes towards them had changed, and even conversations with them had decreased.
Ginny and Heather couldn’t help but tear up again. Only Tiffany seemed indifferent, her gaze focused on Hannah sitting across the room.
Hannah, propping up her head with one hand and fiddling with a pen in the other, noticed Tiffany’s gaze and gave her a smile.
It was devoid of malice, utterly innocent.
She silently mouthed two words, "Keep going."
Just this expression made Tiffany fell a weight on her shoulders, like she had fallen into a swamp, and the only person standing on the shore was Hannah Winter.
Tiffany needed help and Hannah was the only one she could turn to.
This was the greatest humiliation she had ever experienced in her life.
Teresa struck the table, sweeping her gaze over the three of them, "Don’t any of you three have any thoughts about this?"
Ginny and Heather exchanged a glance, then, following their company’s instructions, lowered their pride, stood up, and bowed. "This incident was indeed our mistake. We deeply regret causing such trouble for everyone, and sincerely apologise to you all."
Teresa turned to Tiffany, "And you?"
Tiffany clenched her fist, forcing herself to stand up and echo the same sentiments as the other two.
Teresa signaled for the three to sit down.
The company had already made a decision on this matter. Even though the scandal of vote rigging was public, they viewed it as generating online traffic; in this era, as long as there are clicks, there’s money to be made.
However, Teresa also believed what mattered the most at this juncture was Hannah’s attitude.
Hannah was crystal clear about what had led to today’s chaotic situation.
Although the Simmons Family had considerable influence, it rarely involved itself in the entertainment industry. If Hannah chose to go solo, Arnold Simmons had the power to provide her with superior resources, which would render this group unnecessary.
If this were a simple pleasure entertainment narrative, Hannah would undoubtedly accept without thought, as nothing is more comfortable than winning without effort.
But that was not possible.
Tiffany despised her. The more she did, the more she reminded Hannah of that person.
Having been born enemies, Hannah knew better than anyone how to completely shatter a person’s rationality, just like what Tiffany did to the protagonist in the original plot.
If the group disbanded, the public would soon forget about this scandal. Given Tiffany’s status as the lead, she could quickly make a comeback, which would be terribly uninspiring.
As they waited for Hannah’s answer, each passing second was tormenting.
Teresa wasn’t in a hurry to urge her.
After a long while, Hannah, with a bright smile on her lips, looked at Tiffany and asked, "Shall we do a live-stream?"
Tiffany was taken aback, not understanding at first. The other two felt the same, but likely presumed that it couldn’t be good news.
Hannah continued, "It’s one thing to say it to me, but I believe people would prefer to hear your apologies directly."
"Hannah Winter!" Tiffany slammed her fist on the table, her face losing all color, "I’ve already apologized. Isn’t that enough for you?"
The playful glint in Hannah’s eyes deepened. She nonchalantly replied, "No, it’s not enough."
