Chapter 531: Chapter 531: Helping Others for Pleasure

Someone jealously joined in badmouthing Hannah when Tiffany Lynch made her remarks.

"This Hannah Winter is quite ambitious. She just made her debut with the group and now she wants to go solo. That’s a bit selfish."

"Ah, everyone in this industry has ambitions. It’s not for us to criticize."

They continued chatting when Richard Lee came to disperse the group, and everyone dutifully disbursed.

Only Hannah and Tiffany remained where they were.

The atmosphere did not seem too tense.

Hannah even looked a bit happy. Her gaze fell onto Tiffany and she said indifferently, "Miss Lynch, you are always so interesting. You go out to film but then you want me to back off. Are you hoping for me to quit the play? Will you cover the breach of contract?"

Tiffany gave a small sigh, displaying a considerate and gentle demeanor, "I just don’t want you to end up with a rigid relationship with the production team. It’s not beneficial for your future growth. This industry is not as easy as you think."

Hannah nodded, "Well, we’ll see how it goes. There is no end to friction. You might need to keep an eye on the trending topics for a few more days."

Her words were light, but the amusement in her eyes deepened. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

However, it didn’t reach her eyes, which made her seem insincere. It seemed like she was smirking or scoffing.

Tiffany’s face fell, but her voice remained as gentle as ever. "What do you mean by that, Hannah?"

"What I mean is..." Hannah stepped closer, stood right before Tiffany, her gaze elliptically running over her forehead to her eyes. She replied, a smile on her lips, "You saved quite a bit of money for trending topics. Don’t thank me. Helping others makes me happy."

Now that they were alone, Tiffany allowed her smile to turn cold, "Hannah Winter, you know there’s no advantage for you to keep this up. The entertainment industry has never been about meritocracy."

Hannah nodded, "So, you admit you’re not as good as me?"

"When did I say I..." Tiffany was so angry she was almost snapping, her voice sharpened.

Hannah ignored her, looking off in another direction instead.

Tiffany subconsciously followed her gaze.

It was Jackie Qualls.

Dressed in his costume, he looked ethereal in a white robe, a black jade pendant hung which swayed with his movements. He seemed like an immortal under the moonlight, exuding a gentle aura.

Like a fragrant orchid in the midst of jade trees.

He was headed in Hannah’s direction.

Yet Tiffany, thinking Jackie approached them because of her presence, adjusted her countenance into a sweet smile and was about to greet him. But, Jackie walked past her directly towards Hannah.

"Hannah, your costume has been altered. The director wants you to come and try it on."

Hannah looked excited as her eyes lit up, "Is it the red one?"

Jackie nodded, his face blush as though thinking of something before looing away.

Hannah, however, laughed brightly, "I’ve said before that costume is way too conservative. It doesn’t show anything which doesn’t suit the character at all."

She continued chatting in her own world.

But Jackie couldn’t help but cough lightly. Warm amusement danced in his eyes, "Go now, the director is waiting for you."

It wasn’t until Hannah was far away that the long-ignored Tiffany found an opportunity to speak, "Jackie."

She called the man.

Jackie stopped in his tracks, and eventually turned around. His voice was calm but distant, "What’s up?"

Coldness.

That was the only thing Tiffany could feel from him.
