Chapter 525: Chapter 525: Is There An Impulse?
After all, the position of the first female lead was still vacant. Despite the amendments made in the script, the significance of the lead actress remained the same.
The character setup was commendable, yet under the foil of the antagonistic Hannah, whomever took the role was destined to be eclipsed.
"Who knows who was audacious enough to apply. Every single one of those who auditioned for the role withdrew when they learned Hannah Winter was joining. Not if they had any other resources on hand anyway."
"Ah, to tell you the truth, there were rumors on the internet that it was Tiffany Lynch who came in through the backdoor. I don’t know if they’re true or not."
"Her? I don’t think so. Wasn’t the issue of swapping tickets between her and Hannah Winter still unresolved?"
"You know about it too?"
"Who doesn’t? It’s the talk of the town. If it were truly Tiffany Lynch, we’d be in for a great show."
"Ah! Look over there, someone is... it’s Hayes Edwards! What is he doing here?"
The appearance of Hayes Edwards caused quite a stir among the females in the cast. Luckily, there was no filming scheduled for the day, so everyone gathered around him.
*
Hannah had just opened the door, about to check on Jack Stewart and when he would be back, when suddenly, she was pushed back into the room.
The door closed.
Huffing and puffing, Hayes Edwards still had his mask and hat on, and covered Hannah’s mouth, looking terrified.
Hannah patted his hand to signal him to let go.
Coming to his senses belatedly, he felt the warm breath from Hannah on his palm. His face turned red and he quickly let go, still feeling the sensation of her breath on his palm.
His face burned, he stuttered, "What... what are you looking at? Are you enchanted by my handsome face?"
Pure vanity.
Hannah leaned against the wall, looking at Hayes Edwards in front of her, puzzled, "Why every time I see you, you’re sneaking around? Are you stealing something?"
She sparkled under the soft light at the entrance, her eyes bright and full of life, like stars unfolding.
Hayes Edwards lost his breath for a moment, blurting out, "Yes, stealing your heart."
There was a brief silence in the air.
It was so quiet that Hayes Edwards could hear his own heartbeat. He realized what he had just said, intending to take it back, but instead he adamantly looked at Hannah, waiting for her reaction.
How would Hannah react?
Would she shy away, or playfully hit his chest, saying "stop it"?
Considering his irresistible charm, it was unlikely any girl would not fall for him.
As he indulged in this romantic fantasy, a smirk gradually lined his face.
The next second, he felt a warm sensation on his chest, soft and delicate.
His heartbeat quickened.
Then, he was pushed backward, nearly tripping. Fortunately, he steadied himself in time.
His hat was crooked, and he looked slightly awkward.
Hannah, with her hands crossed, appeared calm and composed, "Instead of taking your role in the play seriously, what are you doing here?"
Feeling somewhat wronged, Hayes Edwards rubbed his chest and followed Hannah, "I came to see you."
Hannah sat down, "What for?"
Hayes Edwards pouted, avoided answering directly, circled around the question, "Have you been feeling an urge recently?"
Hannah looked at him, puzzled, "What kind of urge?"
"Well..." Hayes Edwards couldn’t help but lean in closer, locking eyes with those clear, crystal-like pupils of the girl, momentarily dazed, "The urge to stand on the rooftop."
