Chapter 510: Chapter 510: Didn’t Lie to You

Arnold Simmons turned to his side, his eyes deep and filled with a grave sense of crisis. His gaze fell on the dense forest shrouded in the night in the distance, as he listened to the report from his subordinate over the phone.

As he had suspected, the Simmons Clan had started to make their moves.

Before the news was even confirmed, they had impatiently issued an obituary.

Sensing a gaze from behind, Arnold turned to see his little lady propping her cheek up with a beaming smile on her face.

Her gaze fell on his legs.

Upon thinking of something, Arnold hung up, pushed open the French windows, and walked in.

Hannah tilted her head curiously and remarked, "Mr. Simmons, look at that, a medical miracle! You can walk again."

She raised her eyebrows, extending a snow-white little arm towards him.

Arnold took her hand with a somewhat helpless expression, pulling her into his arms, "Are you angry?"

"I wouldn’t dare." Hannah nestled softly into Arnold’s chest, her voice sounding sweet and mirthful. "If I were truly angry, today Mr. Simmons claims a lame leg, perhaps tomorrow your hand would be broken. I cannot afford such mischief."

Arnold gently massaged the girl’s hair on top of her head, his gaze fell solely on her beautiful face as he softened his tone, "I genuinely was injured. Although it wasn’t my leg, the doctor did recommend not to move around too much during this period."

He lowered his head to look at the girl in his arms, seeing her pouting, he couldn’t help but drop a kiss on her lips, and continued, "I didn’t lie to you. The wheelchair is still at home, you can go check if you don’t believe me."

Hannah huffed in response, pushing him away. She crawled a few steps onto the other end of the bed, maintaining a distance between them, "Who knows if Mr. Simmons prepared all those props just to fool people."

After saying so, she turned her back to him angrily, hugging a pillow tightly and refusing to look at the man behind her, leaving only a petite figure.

After a while without any movement from the man behind her, she couldn’t help but become curious.p>

If it were like before, Arnold would have comforted her by now.p>

Why was there no movement this time?

Did he faint?

Hannah thought back to when she took him to the hospital. The doctor indeed suggested that the patient should rest in bed and not go out easily during this period.

But Arnold, on the other hand, was discharged from the hospital on the second day of his stay.

Not to mention he rushed back home all the way from overseas immediately after leaving the hospital.

She had no idea why he did so.

Hannah pursed her lips, and after a while, she couldn’t resist turning around.

She opened her big black eyes, looking around, but she couldn’t find Arnold anywhere.

Just as Hannah was about to get up to look, she was scooped up and pinned back onto the bed in the next second.

Before she could utter a cry of surprise, Arnold kissed her rosy lips.

The kiss was soft, full of affection, as precious as a gem.

Only after Hannah began to resist, did Arnold, somewhat reluctantly, release her, "Still angry?"

Inhaling his cold scent tinged with the chill of the night, she couldn’t help but avert her gaze, murmuring softly, "I’m not angry."

For a moment, it seemed as if their roles had switched.

Arnold sat with Hannah in his arms at the head of the bed, patiently comforting her, saying all the right things.

He only said things that would please her.

He lavished praise on her beauty.

There was no one more beautiful than her in this world.

In no time at all, Hannah couldn’t help but giggle. She fell into Arnold’s arms, listening to the strong beating of his heart.

Arnold gently stroked her soft, black hair in his arms.
