Chapter 505: Chapter 505 This is Reality

George River had assumed that Hannah would have been furious, ready to argue with him after what happened last night, when her votes were switched. He had even prepared his response in anticipation.

He would tell her, that this is reality.

A brutal and cold reality.

In the entertainment world, popularity alone is worthless if you don’t have a solid backing. Money decides everything.

Considering the timing, the chances of Arnold Simmons surviving were virtually non-existent. If they were lucky, they might be able to locate some remains.

To his surprise, Hannah never showed any intention to confront him. She just acted as if nothing had happened overnight.

After a moment of pondering, George River spoke up again, "If you had been smarter, you would’ve still held the top spot last night."

If it wasn’t for Arnold Simmons, he might not have really considered agreeing to Tiffany’s request.

Hannah gracefully reached for a napkin, wiped the corners of her mouth, and slowly began speaking, "Mr. River, do you really think last night’s ranking means that much? Your internet seems slow, I don’t mind lending you my phone to check."

From last night till now, all topics related to Hannah have consistently ranked first. Countless netizens demanded that the production team reveal the real results. There is undeniable collective outrage.

People seemingly feel angry for Hannah, but in reality, they’re more upset for themselves.

Everyone is struggling to survive, working from dawn till dusk for a better tomorrow. Yet all these efforts can effortlessly be shattered by money.

No one can swallow that flam.

The explosion was bound to happen sooner or later. Hannah’s incident just happened to be a catalyst, advancing the time by a bit.

Resting against her hand, the look in Hannah’s eyes was always sprinkled with a starry smile. "I never realized earlier, Mr. River, you have the potential to be furious for beauty’s sake, which is quite titillating for an outsider like me."

She was jesting with half true-half false words.

George River was distracted by her smile that he forgot his original intention, and out of nowhere he said, "All of these can belong to you."

Hannah paused for a moment, the corners of her mouth tilted upwards in a light smile, "Is my nephew trying to dig into his uncle’s territory?"

George River choked on her words, his facial expression turned cold, his tone became severe, "Hannah Winter, you should know, there’s a feud between Arnold and me."

Hannah brushed it off, casually playing with her long black hair, revealing the diamond earrings she wore. "That’s between you two, I don’t care."

Her words were casual, the diamond earrings swinging lightly with her movements, refracting a shimmering lustre, coldly glowing.

George River couldn’t help but feel his mouth go dry at the sight, he shifted his gaze away, it was only after half a glass of wine he regained his senses.

He found it amusing.

The person he had been watching on TV was now sitting right in front of him. Despite knowing her for a while, it still felt quite shocking.

Most of the shock probably originated from Hannah’s captivating face and the allure she exuded with every frown and smile.

Her casual demeanor suggested that none of it mattered to her, but it was precisely this aloofness that made her more attractive and irresistible.

"Arnold Simmons is dead."

After a long pause, George River said coldly.

He was waiting for Hannah to burst into tears, maybe she would experience an epiphany, like before, come running back into his arms crying.

Even though he had abandoned her, their relationship had always been a transaction. He didn’t think he owed Hannah Winter anything.
