Chapter 409: Chapter 409: It Won’t Happen

Hannah grabbed his shirt, looked up at him, and asked, "Do you admit that the reason you approached me was because I was pretty?"

Arnold Simmons lowered his eyes, his gaze colliding with a pair of eyes full of stardust, in which he found his own reflection. "Yes." he responded.

The girl grinned, pushing her luck, "Am I the most beautiful girl in the world?"

Arnold bowed his head, his breath falling on her slightly pursed red lips, his voice husky and deep, "Yes." he affirmed.

He always indulged her like this. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

He enjoyed teasing her when they first met and saw her angry blushing face. Now, he showered her with all the sweet words she liked to hear.

Just because he couldn’t bear to see her cry.

"What if one day you see someone more attractive than me, will you stop liking me?"

She asked her last question carefully, blinking her eyes and waiting for his answer.

His breath hitched, his eyes darkening. He leaned in to kiss her red lips, his last words spilled from his lips, mumbled yet intimately definitive like an oath, "There will never be anyone more beautiful than you."

Because in my eyes, you will always be the most beautiful.

There won’t be anyone else.

I won’t like anyone else.

I never will.

Late into the night, Hannah’s air conditioning still hadn’t been fixed. Hannah complained about the heat, so Arnold booked another room for them.

The location of the Peach Tree Inn was rather remote, despite having visitors all year round, and the hotel was not up to standard, but it was good enough for one night.

Arnold was woken up the next morning by the ring of a telephone. He opened his eyes, still half-asleep, and rubbed his eyes wearily with a hand.

It had been a long time since he’d slept so soundly.

Looking down, he saw Hannah asleep with a peaceful expression, a soft blush on her face, her curled eyelashes lightly fluttering, her breath slightly warm.

It seems she was woken up by the ring of the telephone, her eyebrows furrowed in annoyance.

Arnold smoothed her frown with his hand before getting out of bed to answer the phone.

When he returned to the room after hanging up the phone, Hannah was already awake, lying on the edge of the bed, looking at him with half-closed eyes, her voice muffled and sleepy, "Mr. Simmons, where did you go?"

Arnold walked over, helped her sit up, and held her in his arms, "I answered a call."

He paused, seeing Hannah still looking at him, he added, "Work-related."

Hannah’s face softened, she clung to him tightly, her eyes full of genuine charm, her voice soft and sweet, "Mr. Simmons, I really don’t want to leave you."

He leaned in closer to her, their cheeks brushing, "Then don’t go back."

Thinking about it, there were still nearly two months left until the end of the show.

Two months without seeing her.

Hannah giggled, tickled by his breath, and quickly pushed him away, combing her messy hair, "That won’t do, I haven’t achieved my goal yet."

Arnold stared at her profile, "What goal?"

Hannah looked at him, her eyes bright and clear, her voice determined, "I want to be a superstar, I want to make Mr. Simmons the most envied man in the world."

Arnold reached over and pulled her into his arms, "Without trying, many people already envy me."

Hannah frowned, muttered, "That’s not the same."

Envy and jealousy are different.

Arnold stopped teasing her and handed her the contract that he had prepared overnight.
