Chapter 397: Chapter 397: Overwhelming with Power
Tiffany Lynch opened her eyes, "George, let it be, it wasn’t Hannah’s intention."
George’s eyes turned colder, looking at Hannah, "So you’re saying that just because it wasn’t intentional, it’s okay to just stand there and watch someone fall into the water?"
Before falling into the water, Hannah was standing right in front of Tiffany Lynch. It was only because Hannah moved that Tiffany fell into the water.
What George was suggesting was that Hannah shouldn’t have moved, thereby preventing Tiffany from falling into the water.
This reasoning made even the onsite staff somewhat uncomfortable.
Hannah had a calm demeanor, not bothering to care about George’s sharp gaze, "Based on what Mr. River is saying, is this some moral blackmailing?"
George narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone indifferent, "Apologize to Tiffany. If you do that, this matter is over, and I won’t hold you accountable."
He intended to give Hannah an opportunity to apologize.
Upon hearing his words, Tiffany Lynch’s tightly closed eyes twitched, her knuckles turned white.
It wasn’t out of coldness, but concealment.
She knew George well; the privileged scions of great families always possessed a kind of pride. They were cold-hearted and indifferent to those they didn’t care about, and showed no mercy whatsoever.
Just like how George was once able to ruthlessly abandon Hannah Winter who was with him for two years.
Because he never cared from the start, so his abandonment was effortless.
But George’s current words showed mild concern for Hannah.
"Apologize?" Hannah raised an eyebrow, her gaze falling on Tiffany Lynch’s closed eyes, her smile bright and dazzling, "Mr. River, what gives you the right to make such a demand of me? If I still loved you as I used to, I would even be willing to kneel to your little darling, but now..."
Hannah looked distressed, her voice soft and delicate, "Mr. River, are you intending to use your power to oppress me?"
George looked impassive, meeting Hannah’s playful smile in return, his words biting, "Since you refuse to repent, you won’t be shooting the advertisement today."
Upon hearing this, the set fell silent.
The director even came over, seemingly trying to speak up for Hannah, but George was unyielding, "I’ve said she’s not allowed to shoot, and she won’t until she learns how to apologize. Then we can talk about the shoot."
The director, who glanced at an unsuspecting Hannah, sighed, "I really can’t make any decisions in this case, I’ll handle it with President Cooper."
President Cooper was the one in charge of the advertising campaign.
"I’ll handle things on President Cooper’s end." George said one last time to Hannah, "Without my command, Hannah Winter is not allowed to accept any advertisements under the River Clan."
This was a clear intention to blacklist her.
Hannah faced George, her eyebrows slightly tensed, her voice tinged with sadness, "If Director River insists, what more can a weak woman like me say?"
As she said this, she feigned wiping her tears with her back turned.
George’s steps faltered slightly, and he felt a small sting in his heart.
Feeling something amiss, Tiffany Lynch looked up at the man beside her, and softly asked, "George?"
His previously wavering heart hardened once again, and he hugged the woman in his arms tighter, "Tiffany, I’ll take you to rest first."
No one thought that the situation would escalate to this point.
Everyone was part of the same circle, and although many stories of superior men sheltering their lucky favorites were known, this was the first time anyone had personally witnessed such an obvious display of power.
