Chapter 390: Chapter 390: Climbing the Tree

Tying a red ribbon to the peach tree was a mere act to calm the heart. However, this was a private peach orchard, and the owner didn’t permit visitors to do so.

Back then, Hannah Winter had gone back and forth, spending nearly a month before finally persuading the owner of the peach orchard.

The owner, a woman over 50, seeing Hannah’s sincerity, couldn’t help but sigh, "I don’t know who that lucky man is to have won you. He is blessed in his three incarnations."

Blessed?

Yes, the man was indeed fortunate. But for Hannah Winter, it was a nightmare.

George River was unaware of all this. When they came here together, he had indeed heard Hannah mention it, but at the time the owner of the peach orchard did not permit it, so he persuaded Hannah to give up.

Unexpectedly...

His throat seemed clenched, and his voice was hoarse as if squeezed out, "Why didn’t you tell me sooner?"

Hannah looked at him, "What difference would telling you make? Would you fall in love with Hannah Winter because you were touched?"

George River pressed his thin lips together, staying silent.

Because he knew that if it were him in the past, even knowing this, he would have thought Hannah Winter was just making a fuss, meaningless.

He might even find it annoying.

A flicker of emotion crossed his eyes, and he couldn’t help asking, "So why tell me now?"

Hannah looked at him, "Because I want you to help me take it down."

This centuries-old tree was as high as several stories, its trunk thick and robust, capable of bearing the weight of an adult.

Having a billionaire like the President climbing a tree though, was somewhat indecorous.

But Hannah’s voice was too gentle, her eyebrows drooping, slender long eyelashes trembling, with porcelain skin and black hair she looked fragile as a china doll, making one want to fulfill even such a rude request for her.

George River unbuttoned a few buttons at his collar and looked at Hannah’s fair profile, "Are you sure you want this?"

The girl looked up, her eyes brimming with a gentle and fragile light, "May I?"

He could not refuse.

She was like a fascinating siren, born with a pair of pure and clear eyes, doing things even ruinous to the nation while still maintaining her gentle purity.

He said nothing more and rolled up his sleeves to the elbow.

He climbed the tree.

Even though George River exercised regularly, he was not familiar with climbing trees, but under his masculine charm, even doing something as unseemly as this, he retained his unique appeal.

Hannah was engrossed, watching from below, occasionally pointing out directions.

By the time he reached the red ribbon on the treetop, George River was drenched in sweat, even staining his white shirt, but he didn’t mind.

From this angle, with a slight downward glance, he could see the petite figure below the tree.

She looked up, her delicate white face bathed in fragmented sunlight. Although there was distance between them, it seemed like he could see his reflection in her eyes.

Just like in the past.

The remaining two meters, the man jumped down, landing steadily in front of the girl, handing over the red ribbon, "Here you go."

The proud and handsome man stood in front of the slender and petite girl, his gaze fixed on her, reaching out his hand. For a moment, petals fell, fluttering down like a beautiful rainfall, as beautiful as a sweet youthful romance.

Hannah, hands behind her back, looked up at the man in front of her, her eyes and brows curved in a smile.
