Chapter 386: Chapter 386: That Year in the Peach Grove

George River withdrew his gaze and nodded, "Then let’s go together."

*

The shooting set had been set up.

Lucy Taylor was the first to arrive, already somewhat impatient from waiting, when she spotted Hannah from afar.

She rushed over, and was about to speak when she noticed Tiffany Lynch trailing behind Hannah. She muttered, "Since when have you two become so close."

Hannah said, "We just happened to come together."

Tiffany Lynch walked over, her smile perfect, her voice soft and weak, "Has the shooting started?"

Lucy replied impatiently, "How can we start shooting when not everyone is here yet? Are we supposed to film the trees?"

Tiffany Lynch’s smile stiffened.

Hannah couldn’t help but laugh.

Lucy glanced at Hannah again, "What’s so funny? I include you in that."

Hannah’s eyes crinkled as she laughed, "A beautiful woman has a right to be late."

The shooting began and based on the casting, Tiffany Lynch was undeniably the lead among the three of them.

After all, she was number one.

But during the shooting, she started to notice something amiss.

Even though she was lead, it was clear that Hannah got more screen time than her.

Tiffany Lynch, a proud and lofty person, wouldn’t tolerate being overshadowed.

Under a peach tree, a girl in pink stretched her hand to the falling petals. Sunlight filtered through the leaves onto her exquisite and fair face, making her extraordinarily beautiful.

For a moment, it was hard to tell whether the girl was more beautiful or the flowers were more delicate.

The shot zoomed in, even the director held his breath, "That’s right, her. We’ll take another full shot later, with her alone."

This overall shot wasn’t originally planned, but the director added it because he was pleased with Hannah. No one raised any objections.

Such a beautiful face, it would be a waste not to take more shots of it. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Although George River stood far away, he could still see the image on the monitor.

Hannah’s beauty was simply awe-inspiring.

She stood in the ethereal peach forest, her radiance wasn’t overshadowed by the delicate peach blossoms at all.

Feelings he had managed to suppress were showing signs of resurfacing.

A breeze wafted the distinctive scent of peach blossoms, carrying petals that brushed against Hannah’s face and eyelashes. She blinked, a smile forming on her crimson lips.

The purest smile.

The peach forest, the girl, her smile.

It was as if he had returned to two years ago.

The time when George River hadn’t proposed to Hannah yet. Their first encounter, a hero saving a beauty, was just like a fairy tale.

Because Hannah had a face similar to Tiffany Lynch’s, George River’s treatment of her was indeed special.

That was their only outing together, prompted by Hannah’s words, "I love peach blossoms."

At that time, he treated Hannah as just a girl he kind of liked, without any emotional or material attachments involved.

The two of them were like a boy and girl unsure about their feelings for each other.

She wasn’t as quiet as before, playful like a child who had not grown up, she would run around freely in the peach forest, and would take his hand to take pictures.

She felt sorry for the petals that fell to the ground and were trampled into the mud, "Why can’t such beautiful peach blossoms always bloom and never fade?"

He laughed at her, "The blooming and wilting of flowers are the laws of nature, there’s no such thing as a flower that always blooms and never fades."

She sighed, "Yes, so it is with flowers, so it is with people."

At that time, he thought it was just the sentimental musings of a young girl and didn’t take it to heart. But now looking back—flowers don’t bloom forever, people don’t keep their word forever.
