Chapter 375: Chapter 375: She’s Too Ugly
Writing scripts for talent shows is easy, the difficulty lies in the uncooperative participants.
The producer intended to pair Hannah and Tiffany Lynch together, which he believed would make the show more attractive. After all, the "can’t stand or live without each other" trope is trendy these days.
Such a wonderful idea.
The producer personally invited them both, persuading and cajoling until Tiffany Lynch relaxed her expression a bit.
Indeed, this arrangement wasn’t going to hurt her in any way.
Hannah’s public popularity is so overwhelming that it even surpasses the Lynch’s.
When it was Hannah’s turn, the producer started to smile but was abruptly interrupted by a calm statement from her side, "I won’t do it."
The producer’s smile froze on his face as he tried to convince himself.
Her backer is Second Master Simmons.
Who is Second Master Simmons?
Someone who could end him with a single word. So he put up with Hannah and seized the opportunity to ask, "Could I kindly ask why not?"
Hannah maintained her aloof expression, answering seriously, "She’s too ugly."
The producer was stunned. What a reason?
Tiffany Lynch was furious. She immediately stood up from the sofa, "Hannah Winter, what do you mean?"
Hannah looked up at her, casually mentioned, "The literal meaning. Don’t you understand, Miss Lynch?"
"Hannah Winter, don’t push it too far!" Tiffany Lynch was so angry that her face turned pale, biting her lips harshly.
On the contrary, Hannah sat there as if she was leisurely strolling in her backyard, lazily said, "It’s not the first time I’ve upset you, so what’s so surprising about it? I thought people like Miss Lynch, who are not above using underhanded tactics, would enjoy such things."
She smiled slightly, her eyes twinkling with genuine amusement.
This enraged Tiffany Lynch to the point of losing her mind. She finally fell back heavily onto the sofa, pointing at Hannah, her voice weak with anger, "Hannah Winter, when I agreed to pair up with you I was doing you a favor, don’t take it for granted."
Hannah lounged, crossing her long legs, chuckling: "Miss Lynch, it sounds like you are accusing me of not appreciating your generous offer. If one didn’t know better, they might think you’re trying to abduct an innocent lady."
Tiffany Lynch shot her a look, her eyes sharp as a knife.
"Oops, I misspoke." Hannah laughed, clapping her hand to her forehead as she met Tiffany Lynch’s gaze, she added, grinning, "Not abducting an innocent lady, but abducting an exceptionally beautiful lady acclaimed for her enchanting beauty and grace."
Tiffany Lynch, her face turning blue with rage, pointed at Hannah and was unable to utter a word, "Hannah Winter, don’t presume that I am begging you!"
The producer watched the interaction unfold with a shiver of thrill.
Nothing else matters. Even this staged conflict might be the making of their pairing.
Although Tiffany Lynch has a strong support base, it barely measures up to that of Second Young Master Simmons. As long as Hannah refuses, the producer dares not make decisions unilaterally.
He can only play peacemaker, "Or you two can discuss it again."
Tiffany Lynch fiercely refuted, "No need for discussions! It’s not like I value Hannah Winter!"
As Tiffany tried to leave after her outburst, the producer managed to halt her and gave her a meaningful look.
That was stupid.
Right now, if she could attach herself to Hannah, her popularity would surely surge, and not just that, her image would also be cleaned up.
Hannah boredly stirred her teacup. The sound of porcelain hitting glass was crisp and pleasant to the ear. After a while, she asked again, "Have you figured it out yet?"
Meanwhile, the producer was pulling at Tiffany Lynch’s sleeve.
He wouldn’t be putting up with this if it weren’t for the money!
Tiffany Lynch stomped her foot, had no choice but to sit back down, although her face was still a bit grumpy. She had a condescending air around her, "Since the script has already been written, let’s follow it. I will suffer this disadvantage just this once, for the rating’s sake."
