Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Everyone is Searching

It could be said that in the strict life of trainee practice, many trainees viewed Jackie Qualls as if he was a moon in the sky; it seemed as if fatigue diminished with just a glance at him.

But now, Best Actor Qualls was anxious to find Hannah...

Everyone was puzzled.

Tiffany Lynch was the first to speak up, standing and looking at Jackie across a distance, "Mr. Qualls, Hannah left as soon as the interview was over. We have no idea where she went. She seemed quite anxious."

She finished speaking, and gave a small smile. Her almond eyes seemed to harbor unspoken feelings, but she maintained an elegant and gracious demeanor that was hard to decipher.

Lucy Taylor couldn’t help but scoff and turn her face away.

Jackie Qualls just glanced over, his eyes met hers, a flicker of recognition crossed his gaze, which quickly returned to indifference, "In that case, I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll leave first. Keep up the good work, everyone."

"Thank you, Mr. Qualls!"

"Safe travels, Mr. Qualls!"

"Come watch us practice tomorrow as well, Mr. Qualls!"

Everyone stood up to see him off, except for Tiffany Lynch whose face turned somewhat rigid as she returned to her seat.

Jackie Qualls left, taking with him James Landon who was still stubbornly searching for someone.

James Landon was not satisfied. He stopped passing staff to inquire where Hannah had gone.

The staffer shook his head, appearing as if he wanted to say something but dared not to.

James Landon, talented in songwriting but clueless about interpersonal communication, with a measure of emotional intelligence close to zero, naturally did not grasp the implications in the staffer’s gaze.

Jackie Qualls, however, did catch on. He laughed lightly and said, "Someone called Hannah away, didn’t they?"

"Mr. Qualls, we can’t say much about this," the staffer smiled awkwardly and scratched his nose, "She probably went to look for her friends."

James Landon frowned, sounding a bit frustrated, "What do you mean, probably? How can you not know where someone that size has gone?"

The procedure after a trainee’s performance is usually an interview first, then returning backstage for the producer to lay out tomorrow’s plan and announce some procedures.

Although not a significant matter, without a special reason, absence is generally prohibited.

So, the words of the staff seemed nuanced.

Jackie Qualls understood, pausing slightly, and his face grew colder than before.

The staffer forced a smile, "Since neither of you has anything to do, I should go now. The producer is waiting for me."

Moonlight was approaching, splashing the whole sky with a stroke of darkness. A light breeze brought a slight salty sea air, with the sound of waves rolling and muffled laughter of adults and children in the distance.

The man stood on the shore, his deep eyes mirrored the moonlight, like a curved crescent moon immersed in the sea, silent and mysterious, and dangerous.

From behind, cheerful footsteps could be heard. The man did not turn his head and crushed the cigarette in his hands.

"Guess who I am?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

The young woman in flat shoes was only shoulder-height to the man. She tiptoed, stretched her arms from behind to cover the man’s eyes.

His narrow eyes lifted, inducing a pleasant tingling sensation.

The young woman couldn’t help but laugh.

Arnold Simmons reached out and grabbed her soft hand in his palm, squeezing it tenderly, his voice a bit hoarse from the smoke, "Aren’t you bored?"

"I’m not bored."

Hannah pouted, pulled by the man to stand in front of him, blinking, "Mr. Simmons, did you come to watch my performance?"
