Chapter 308: Chapter 308: Worthless
Hannah’s foot injury hadn’t fully healed after a few days, and the doctor warned her not to get it wet or to dance.
She was heartbroken and insisted that the program recording can’t be delayed for even a day.
Arnold Simmons played the role of a "tyrant" for a moment, made a call, and postponed the program recording indefinitely.
In other words, they had to wait until the young lady’s foot injury fully healed.
Upon receiving the news, the producer looked stunned. Although the notification didn’t clearly explain the situation, it seemed apparent that this decision was directed at Hannah Winter.
Previously, he assumed that the higher-ups were backing Tiffany Lynch since she had always played a prominent role in the show. He only tolerated it because she was assigned by Prideful Entertainment and he thought that Lynch was the person whom the big boss wanted to protect.
Who knew that they’ve gone around in such a big circle, only to discover that they were wrong about the person.
He wondered how Hannah, an individual trainee without even a company behind her, had the audacity to defy him.
Now he understood- she had someone backing her up.
On reflection, the producer was terrified that if this big boss started settling scores with him, he would be finished!
Even as the producer was worried about his job, Hannah, on the other hand, didn’t show any intention of wanting to replace him, not to mention those staff members who had mistreated her - she wanted them to stay as well.
Nothing fancy, she just enjoyed watching those who had previously flaunted their power in front of her become humbly pleasing.
They would surely compliment her beauty and excellence as a way to please her.
Those were the words she loved to hear the most.
Arnold pinched the young lady’s nose while smiling, "No ambition."
Hannah thought to herself, wealthy patrons were indeed useful.
Although Arnold spent a lot of time at the hospital keeping Hannah company, he still had work to handle.
Hannah obediently read her books on the side, and only when he was done with his work did she eagerly pounce on him.
Arnold quickly caught her in his arms, and she spoke in a soft voice, "Mr. Simmons, I don’t like the smell of disinfectant."
Arnold gently squeezed her soft little face, captivated by her, responded lightly: "Even if you don’t like it, bear with it."
Her wounds haven’t healed yet.
Upon hearing his words, an idea came to Hannah’s mind, she leaned in and whispered in Arnold’s ear, "Mr. Simmons, when I say I don’t like the smell of disinfectant, you should respond ’change the air’ with a cool face. That’s what suits your domineering boss identity."
Arnold frowned, looking down at the young girl in his arms.
He gently patted her bottom a few times, saw her face filled with grievance before he finally said, "Read fewer novels."
Where was she getting these weird ideas from, day after day?
Hannah, after being ’hit’, started to sulk and hid under the covers for a long time. No matter what, she didn’t want to come out.
Arnold stood at the bedside, his gaze landing on the bulge in the bed, after a while he finally said, "I’ll take you out tomorrow."
Hannah then poked her fluffy head out from under the covers, her face flushed from holding her breath, "Really?"
The sunlight outside the window was at its most dazzling, casting a little bit of light on the spotless floor, but it couldn’t compete with the brilliance in her eyes.
Arnold reached out to brush off the messy hair on her face, his fingers gently rubbing her crimson lips, "I won’t deceive you."
It seemed like he was becoming more inclined to compromise with her.
Even knowing that it was not a good sign, he couldn’t stop himself as if he was under a spell.
As soon as he saw her smiling face, he felt relaxed and happy. But when she cried, even if it was fake, he felt heartache and discomfort.
That was his weakness.
He never had one before, but he did after meeting her.
The person in his arms smiled broadly, her soft hands clinging to him, giving off a subtle seductive vibe despite her innocent appearance.
