Chapter 296: Chapter 296: Something To Say

"Was it you who did this?"

Lucy Taylor had approached without notice, staring at Tiffany Lynch.

Tiffany’s face became slightly more expressionless, but her satisfaction was evident in her eyes. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Lucy scoffed, "I’ve seen backdoor tactics, but never as disgusting as yours."

Climbing the social ladder wasn’t unheard of in the talent show or entertainment circles. Lucy herself had benefited from it. However, despite doing all this, she still fell behind Hannah Winter.

She accepted it.

But Tiffany was not willing to concede. "I am merely reclaiming what is rightfully mine."

The center position was hers. If it hadn’t been for Hannah’s sudden interference, she wouldn’t have had to resort to such measures.

So, it was all Hannah’s fault.

In the crowd, the producer, seeing Hannah’s continued silence, presumed she accepted the decision. Just when he was about to announce the replacement, the same person suddenly spoke up.

"What if I refuse?"

Hannah looked up, a hint of humor in her eyes.

The producer, growing impatient, raised his voice, "Do you intend to drag everyone else down with you? What will you do if something happens during the recording? Are you going to jeopardize the performance of dozens of others for your own sake?"

Hannah, looking at the producer before her, spoke calmly and seriously, "I’m not injured, and I don’t agree with the replacement."

The producer had lost his patience entirely. True or not, appeasing the investors by changing the person would make no difference to him. "Enough, you don’t need to say all these pointless words."

He paused, then raised his voice once more. "I hereby announce that the main song’s center position will be replaced by Tiffany..."

"Wait." Hannah suddenly interrupted the producer, her profound gaze resting on his face. She uttered a slight smirk, "I have something to say."

The producer cast her a cold look, "What else do you want to say?"

Replacing a center position was not a big deal. Even if it angered some fans, in the end, it would only increase the heat around the show.

A trainee without any backing, no matter how popular, was dispensable if the show’s investors did not favor her.

A stone that could be stepped on at any time.

People seemed to accept Tiffany Lynch as the new center. Although they felt a mixture of astonishment and regret for their fellow trainees, who existed much like ants, no one dared to speak up for Hannah.

Tiffany had already moved to the front of the line, ready to accept her glory.

However, Hannah’s words shattered Tiffany’s beautiful illusion.

But on second thought, it was merely a last-ditch effort. Nothing to fear.

Hannah requested to speak privately with the producer.

Initially, the producer was not intending to agree. After all, it was just a change of center position. Wasn’t he, the producer, able to decide that?

However, looking into her deep, ocean-like eyes, the producer found himself unconsciously nodding in agreement. For a moment, as if bewitched, he felt drowsy.

Hannah and the producer stood in a corner for approximately one minute.

Everyone was curious about their conversation.

Some people speculated whether it was some sort of...secret arrangement.

Looks of disdain were evident.

May Hoffman stood aside, looking at the direction where Hannah and the producer stood. She looked aloof and weary, like someone who hadn’t slept for days.

Everyone kept a distance from her.
