Chapter 252: Chapter 252: It’s a Trick

Isn’t this harmful?

Sunny Lee froze, "Aren’t school slogans written like this?"

Hannah retorted, "That’s a deception. There’s a sequel to that slogan - this one percent of talent is more important than the ninety-nine percent of diligence."

Sunny Lee was completely shocked.

She knew that Hannah was trying to comfort her, but what if her urge to cry increased instead?

Unmindful of Sunny’s devastation, Hannah went on: "Whether it’s talent or being a genius bestowed with talent, both are rare occurrences. Most people are average. Perhaps it’s due to the environment you grew up in or the blind encouragement from the people around you that has given you the impression that you are extraordinary..."

She paused, and then continued speaking to a somewhat gloomy Sunny, "...Perhaps you should change your perspective. In your eyes, I might have a beauty that outshines the worldly norms, even supplemented with awe-inspiring talent. But in your world, no matter how remarkable I might be, I’m only a supporting actor or at most, a passerby."

Everyone is the protagonist in their own world. No matter how excellent others are, they would probably just be a backdrop or a random passerby from your perspective.

Therefore, there is no need to be envious. Simply live your own life well.

What Hannah said did not seem like comfort; instead, she cruelly tore apart the illusion and beauty in Sunny’s eyes, letting her see all the harshness and cold-blooded reality.

However, it was through this method that Sunny’s heart miraculously found peace.

One should learn to accept their average nature. No matter how good others are, it has nothing to do with oneself.

It’s perfectly okay to admire, but not to be envious.

Because admiration is the desire to improve oneself, envy is the desire for others to deteriorate.

One must never lose sight of oneself.

Sunny Lee nodded, "I understand."

Hannah smirked, holding out her hand, "So, can we continue practicing now?"

Looking at the fair, jade-like hand in front of her, Sunny smiled, "Okay."

Again, voices marking rhythm resonated through the practice room. At this hour, no one was around; even music wasn’t playing. Only the camera nestled in the corner silently recorded everything.

Meanwhile, in the monitoring room behind the scenes.

There are staff on duty 24/7, monitoring everything that happens. One of them happened to witness this scene of Hannah dancing with Sunny and was taken aback, "Hannah Winter usually appears to be so defiant and indifferent to others. Who would’ve guessed she can be so kind."

An adjacent staff member also leaned over to watch the slender silhouettes on the screen, scoffing, "It’s all for show. Women are inherently crafty, and this is an audition show after all. There is nothing genuine among them. They are just trying to win audience favor."

The other staff member disagreed, "This is the middle of the night. The theme song is tomorrow. Would they need to put on such a show?"

"Hmph." The person sneered, "Just wait and see. Within ten days, these two will definitely fight. They’re just plastic siblings."

Hearing their conversation, the resting producer on the side sauntered over. He took a puff of his cigarette, squinting at the scene on the screen, "Is this Hannah Winter?"

"Yes. Should we include this segment in the highlight reel?"

This could potentially develop a positive reception for Hannah Winter.

However, against expectations, the producer chuckled coldly, cigarette in hand, "Cut it off. We’re positioning Hannah Winter as an unthinking and ruthless figure. Releasing this clip would contradict our narrative, don’t you see? What we need is attention, understand?"
