Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Play On

Tiffany Lynch smirked, glancing at the Pipa cradled in Hannah’s arms, her eyes filled with disdain. "So, Hannah, you’re going to perform traditional music."

She paused meaningfully, "No wonder you looked down on my violin performance earlier, well, there is indeed a gap between Western and traditional music, just like between you and me."

Upon hearing this, Hannah let out a soft chuckle, walking over to Tiffany and looking at her sideways, "Whether it is sublime themes or grassroots stories, music knows no borders and naturally, there is no hierarchy, just like people, who is to say who is nobler? Don’t you think so, Miss Lynch?"

Tiffany could hear the mocking undertones in Hannah’s pleasant voice, overlaid with a faint trace of amusement.

As their eyes met, one was calm and filled with mirth, while the other was filled with jealousy and anger.

As swiftly as their confrontation began, it ended.

Tiffany sneered, "I wish you a successful performance then."

"Thank you." Hannah nodded her head slightly, walking past Tiffany towards the stage.

The competition between the two had just begun.

As the late-night silence enveloped the area, people started to drift to sleep.

In their haze, they began to hear the crisp and pleasant sound of string music echoing from the stage.

The melody was smooth as the dropping of jade pearls into a clear mountain springs. People couldn’t help but discretely glance towards the stage. Before long, exclaims of wonder filled the air. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Jackie Qualls was intently watching the figure on the stage, his breath caught, unable to avert his gaze.

Under the spotlight, the moon-like Qipao was adorned by blooming brilliant red plum blossoms. A hint of blush on her face was captivating as the dawn light in the snow. She was sitting slightly sideways, cradling the pipa, her face gently illuminated by the moonlight.

Dressed in a simple white gown, she looked ethereal, otherworldly.

Her white slender wrist and delicate hand gently brushing the strings, making a powerful vibrate sound like a swan’s call, causing a rush of emotions within the audience, as if picturing an intense battle.

Her head slightly hanging down, revealing smooth white skin at the back of her neck, shimmering as if it was glowing under the light. Her closed eyes, softly fluttering eyelashes reminiscent of a startled butterfly’s wings.

With her delicate figure and gentle facial features, contrasted against the stirring music, embodying both strength and softness.

Her slim fingertips on the strings, as if an eagle flying above the horizon, obscured by the soft clouds, also obscuring the performer’s face on the stage.

Regardless, it was mesmerizing.

Even after the music ended, it still lingered in the air.

James Landon was the first to stand and applaud. Even someone as subdued and introverted as him, was visibly moved, almost as if he wanted to rush up on the stage and grab Hannah’s hand.

He may not understand the Pipa, but it was undoubtedly the best performance he had ever witnessed.

The crowd muttered under their breath.

Hannah stood up, lightly smoothing out the wrinkles on her Qipao, and gracefully stepped forward.

Down the stage, Tiffany gritted her teeth in fury.

She had sorely underestimated Hannah, not expecting her to have such a trick up her sleeve.

On the stage, they stood side by side.

Both of them wore simple white dresses, one a Western-style gown, pure elegance, and the other a Chinese Qipao, graceful allure. They presented a completely different kind of beauty.

This time, Hannah was no longer mimicging Tiffany as the old owner would, setting herself up for awkward moments.

Similarly, this was her first time trying to break the plot.

With this thought, she could barely contain the smile in her eyes.

The entire day’s confrontations, the competition between Hannah and Tiffany were undoubtedly the most dazzling.
