Chapter 1326: Chapter 1326 Escape
"Do you prefer a Chinese style wedding or a Western one? Otherwise, I’ll have everything prepared. What kind of flowers should we have at the ceremony? How about roses?"
He spoke to himself, as if performing a monologue with a strained smile on his face.
"Sister, how about we settle overseas after we get married? Let’s go to Sri. Although it’s a small country, I’ve heard it’s the closest place to the moon, known as the City of the Moon, with the most beautiful scenery..."
His voice trailed off, and with it, the corners of his mouth slowly lost their curve.
"If you still want to act, I can find you resources. I’m a very powerful producer now. Anything you want, I can give you... So, please, will you say something?"
The last sentence was an almost abject plea.
He couldn’t understand why, in the past, they could share their desires so intimately and talk freely about beautiful dreams, but now they had to be so estranged.
"I thought we would always be together."
He bowed his head, his eyes reddening, but still holding back tears. Deep within his eyes, there was a mix of stubbornness and resentment.
Hannah turned her head to the side, the sunlight falling on her face, yet it couldn’t warm her ruthless words, "Between us, there has never been a ’forever,’ has there?"
"I don’t believe it!"
What do you mean, no forever? He was determined to prove to Hannah.
That the two of them would be together forever.
There was no priest or music in the old church.
Just the vows Louis Snyder had stubbornly made.
A long passage, the vows spoken at a wedding. Louis knew them by heart, and then he added a few lines of his own.
Thinking about if he actually faced sickness and poverty one day, he would rather have Hannah take revenge on him, abandon him, because at least that would prove she still had feelings for him.
Even if those feelings were hatred.
Hannah didn’t respond to Louis’s vows, only moving her somewhat stiff hands, "Can you untie me now?"
Louis shook his head, clasping her hands within his own, his deep-set eyes very dark but his voice still gentle, "No, you would run away."
Hannah tried to struggle free, but he gripped her even tighter, "You can’t keep me locked up forever."
Louis remained silent and did not speak, taking Hannah back to the car, locking the car door properly before he himself got out again.
He had noticed that Hannah had torn off her necklace.
As if she did it just to provoke him.
Louis didn’t feel angry, instead, he felt quite happy.
Because Hannah was willing to do such a thing, proving that their relationship was not entirely the distant and indifferent one of strangers.
The church was some distance from where they had parked.
When Louis reached the church door, he looked back, not reassured.
His vision was sharp, and he caught sight of Hannah sitting in the car in just one glance.
But he couldn’t discern her expression,
For some reason, a momentary panic arose in his heart.
He subconsciously placed his hand over his chest, feeling a heartbeat even more vehement than usual.
Like waves, one after another.
In the distance, the sun that had been suspended above the sea horizon had now disappeared without a trace, the weather dark and gloomy, with storm clouds pressing down on the sea as though they were ready to rush over at any moment.
Weather by the sea could change very quickly.
One second it was sunny, and the next there could be a downpour.
Louis dared not delay any longer and hastened back into the church.
The church was very empty, the wooden chairs worn and simple, and a thick layer of dust had accumulated on the floor, leaving two clear sets of footprints wherever someone walked.
