She actually went behind his back and did something so foolish.
She was overambitious and in the end, even dragged down the entire River Clan.
George River had slogged through another half month at the company, and finally, he came to the hospital today.
Old Sir River was still lying in the hospital bed. He had woken up once in the morning, but his spirit was poor, and even his speech was becoming incoherent.
During this time, it had always been the River Family’s old butler by his side.
Seeing George River arrive, the old butler merely sighed and shook his head.
George River’s condition wasn’t good. Normally very particular about his neat attire, his suit was now crumpled, his eyes filled with red blood vessels, and dark circles under his eyes.
As if he hadn’t slept for a long period of time.

The old butler had served in the River Family for decades, much of that time by Old Sir River’s side.

They called him a natural-born king, said he was above the rest, and that he was undoubtedly the best heir of the River Family.
His family background gave him such a high starting point that it made him mistakenly believe he would never fail in his life and that he was already good enough.
Arrogant, contemptuous of others, and self-centered.
This was evident from his attitude towards Hannah Winter.
He always believed that everything should be as he wanted it to be.
Such a person, perhaps, could only come to terms with reality after being hit by it repeatedly.
Hannah was the first blow reality dealt him, and the crisis faced by the River Clan was the second.
George River stayed at the hospital until the evening before leaving again.
After leaving the building, he didn’t go anywhere but just sat in his car.
He smoked one cigarette after another.
He seemed almost in a state of collapse, just leaning back in his seat, eyes closed, thinking of only one thing.
If he really lost everything he had now, the River Clan, money, and power, how would he explain to his grandfather, and what would he have to compete with Arnold Simmons?
In his life, he had never faced such a predicament.
As glorious as he had been, now he was just as wretched.
Those who had once crowded around him with congratulations were likely now mocking him as a fool.

The film crew had changed their shooting location.
To facilitate filming, Hannah had been staying at a bed and breakfast near the crew recently.
Today’s shooting went rather smoothly. The male lead, who had been too shy to speak his lines, somehow suddenly had a breakthrough.
A particularly complex shot even went through in one take.
The director was laughing, asking if it was because Arnold Simmons didn’t come to visit today, so the actor felt more relaxed.
With such a comment, the male lead became embarrassed again.
