Chapter 1208: Chapter 1208: Your Idol

It was unclear when it had started, but Jinyue had already aligned herself with her owner.

The people from the Imperial family were all a bunch of hypocrites who loved to save face and boasted endlessly.

Hannah always said this, and as time went by, Jinyue also believed it without doubt.

Would they ever return?

Hannah said they would.

Comforted, Jinyue followed closely behind her master, walking on a tree-lined path along the river, "Master, if you go back, what about the antagonist?"

Hannah stopped in her tracks, standing in the golden afterglow, her eyes shimmering with fragmented light and shadows, "A human’s life is both short and long; he will eventually forget."

Jinyue stared blankly and then lowered her head, dragging her little burlap bag, stepping on Hannah’s shadow one footprint at a time, silently thinking to herself.

The antagonist will not forget.

Although eating dog food sometimes was irritating, the sudden shards of glass were even more wearing.

If the master really wanted to stay in this world, it wasn’t impossible; the live streaming platforms were all shut down, many people couldn’t go back, one more master wouldn’t matter.

Nobody would notice.

Probably...

Jinyue hopped joyfully, the bottle caps she collected in the torn burlap bag clinking together, tinkling "Master, the other day I eavesdropped outside the hospital room, I seemed to hear the woman... Tiffany Lynch mention a name."

Hannah continued walking indifferently, "Which name?"

"I can’t remember, it seemed to be something like..." Jinyue scratched her head, "Duck meat?"

She truly couldn’t remember; she just thought the name was odd.

It didn’t sound like someone from the storyline.

Hannah didn’t stop walking but only looked up to greet the warm light cast from the distant horizon, a warmth filling her eyes, yet carrying a hint of pure... malice?

"Besides her, no one else would be so idle."

Jinyue caught up and asked, "Who is it?"

Hannah replied, "It’s your idol."

Jinyue was confused.

Idol?

What idol?

She couldn’t remember ever admiring anyone.

That evening,

Hannah accompanied Arnold Simmons to a private party.

The host of the party was one of Arnold’s business partners, who, though not hugely invested domestically, had a significant market abroad.

Hannah didn’t quite understand the specifics of what he did nor was she very interested.

The man was a foreigner and spoke Mandarin with an odd accent, but it was clear he was making an effort to learn.

The man first chatted a few sentences in a foreign language with Arnold, then turned to look at Hannah, his face showing surprise before awkwardly saying, "Mrs. Simmons, very beautiful."

At first, Hannah thought he was insulting someone, but fortunately, she appreciated the second half of his remark.

She liked sweet-talking men, and the same went for women.

As long as they complimented her well, they could all be good friends.

She smiled gracefully, nodded in response, "Thank you."

The man clearly spaced out for a second but quickly regained his composure due to his good upbringing.

He said he wasn’t accustomed to speaking Mandarin and switched back to his native language, speaking to Arnold, "I know your wife; she is incredible. In my country, her advertisements are everywhere, a very charming Eastern lady. Once the party is over, could you please help me ask for her autograph?"

He was a somewhat reserved little fan.

When his business partner sincerely praised his fiancée, Arnold felt a slight acidity in his heart.

He was jealous.

However, before Arnold could respond, Hannah had already replied to this "foreign fan" in fluent foreign language.
