Chapter 1204: Chapter 1204: Consider it a Consolation

Louis Snyder caressed the wound on his own wrist, his smile subservient.

Brother Davis looked on but felt a chill down his spine.

There was silence in the living room for a while before Louis’s voice was heard again, "Did she accept the gift I asked you to give her?"

Only then did Brother Davis remember the real issue at hand.

He had only thought this was a normal work report before, but now that he knew about Louis’s relationship with Hannah, he found it somewhat difficult to speak.

A conflicted and hesitant look appeared on his face.

Seeing Brother Davis’s expression, Louis realized something and his smile faded, his voice growing colder as well, "She didn’t accept it, did she?"

Brother Davis nodded.

The assistant Jackie Qualls had relayed the same excuse, and Brother Davis brought it back to Louis exactly.

Although it was claimed there was no immediate plan to shoot a movie, everyone in the circle understood.

It wasn’t about not filming; it was that her fiancé had prepared something better.

It was said that Arnold Simmons already owned a movie company abroad, he wasn’t sure when it was established, but at the moment it was serving Hannah alone.

This capability, this attitude, was just like King Richards building the Star-Picking Tower for Daji.

Outsiders could only sigh and feel amazed.

Louis then fell silent, looking down at his own scarred wrist.

Love was hard to discuss, and Brother Davis, not being much of an experienced person, struggled for a while before coming up with a phrase that could be considered comforting.

"Although Hannah didn’t take the script we offered, she also didn’t accept the script offered by Jackie Qualls."

This... was supposed to be comforting, right?

Louis found Jackie unappealing, and the feeling was mutual.

These two could be said to be at odds with each other. While it might not have reached a life-and-death struggle, they both had their fair share of undercuts on a daily basis.

Initially, Brother Davis thought it was just normal business competition, as did others in the circle, but now it was clear... these two were indeed love rivals.

After hearing Brother Davis’s words, Louis still showed no reaction, his head lowered, his fine bangs pressed by a hat, nearly covering his eyes.

His eyelashes fluttered slightly before Louis looked up at Brother Davis again, "Is Hannah releasing a new album?"

It took Brother Davis a moment to nod again.

Louis continued to ask, "Who is in charge?"

Brother Davis thought for a moment, "It’s still James Landon, but this time there seems to be preparation for an overseas release, so HQ Entertainment might also be involved."

This resource, this treatment, was simply heavenly.

Louis fell silent again, lowering his head and burying his face in his arms.

Brother Davis understood this feeling.

From what he had gathered from Grandma Taylor earlier, he knew about the circumstances when Louis and Hannah were together.

Thinking back, both of them would have been newcomers in the entertainment industry, still struggling at the very bottom, as evidenced by the rundown house they lived in.

Actually, such stories were quite common in the entertainment circle.

Before fame, they depended on each other for survival; once one partner found better opportunities, breakup was inevitable. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Call it heartless or selfish, but once you enter this circle, unless you are well-established and determined, the aspiration is always to climb higher.

However, looking at Hannah and Louis, it didn’t seem to fit this scenario.

Initially, he thought maybe Hannah had abandoned Louis after finding better prospects, but looking at the situation, it appeared as if Louis was the one compensating Hannah.

Unfortunately, she lacked for nothing now.

Previously, Brother Davis might have advised Louis to "focus on his own development," but now he didn’t know what to say.
