Chapter 1145: Chapter 1145: Coming

"Louis, there are many guests today who have collaborated with the Yarn Family in the past," Grace Yarn said. "The River Family and the Simmons Family will also send representatives. It would be good for you to come out and meet everyone; it will help you in the future."

Interactions between businessmen do not seek deep friendships; having met once and leaving an impression ensures that future partnerships discussions won’t be too awkward.

When Grace Yarn said this, it represented that she indeed planned to hand over a part of the Yarn Family’s industry into Louis Snyder’s hands.

Whether it was for Louis or Minna Yarn’s benefit, she always carried a deep sense of guilt.

After a long silence, Louis finally spoke again, "I understand. I’ll come down right now."

From behind the door, the young man’s voice seemed a bit muffled.

Grace Yarn took Louis’s response as him still adjusting, and without urging him further, having said all she needed to, she turned and went downstairs.

Although today’s attendees were mostly young people, as hosts of the banquet, it wouldn’t be appropriate for them not to make an appearance.

Downstairs, the dessert area.

Emily Lynch busily transferred small cakes from the table next to her while shoving them into her mouth.

After only a few bites, she looked towards the entrance, murmuring, "Why hasn’t Hannah arrived yet?"

Edison Lynch stood to one side, dressed in an eye-catching light-colored suit, with his overlong hair styled in a carelessly rebellious manner.

He glanced at his phone while watching warily around him, of course not forgetting to tease his sister, "Eat, eat, eat, that’s all you do. Aren’t you afraid your dress will burst at the seams?"

Emily bit her fork and glared at him, "Seems like you only remember the good and forget the beatings. Do you need another lesson?"

Hearing this, the recently healed wound ached faintly.

Edison Lynch grimaced, his smile more of a sneer, "Eat, eat, just keep eating."

After speaking, he turned his head and muttered softly, "No one would believe you don’t gain weight."

"Edison Lynch."

Emily Lynch glided over silently, a dinner knife in her hand.

When Edison turned around, he met his sister’s particularly fierce gaze, and without a second thought, he conceded, "I didn’t say anything."

Emily Lynch didn’t believe him.

Just as she was about to enforce her point, Edison suddenly pointed behind her and exclaimed, "Look, look, your goddess has arrived."

After speaking, he ran off in a flash.

Hannah had indeed arrived, but so had Arnold Simmons.

Edison Lynch had no chance to hide; he had been dragged here purely under his sister’s threat. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Emily had said that if Edison didn’t go, she would sell all his gaming gear and report him to their parents for having seven gaming alt accounts.

Edison Lynch chickened out.

Gaming alts were his children; who else could be hurt if not his very own children?

The banquet hall.

The expensive crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling cast a gentle glow, and amidst the clinking of glasses, elegantly dressed people engaged in quiet conversation, their faces smiling, though the nature of their words inevitably carried a transactional undertone.

Interest, the foundation of every businessman.

Moments later, a commotion came from the entrance.

Those holding flutes of champagne did so with a certain restraint and breeding.

One after another, they turned their heads, following the sound.

The banquet hall was never short of handsome men and beautiful women, but pairs as well-matched as this were a rarity.

The man was clothed in a dark suit, tailored to accentuate his sturdy figure. Handsome with deep-set features, his eyes and brows were filled with indifference and detachment.

Like the piercing cold of winter snow, beautiful yet forbidding.

It wasn’t until this winter snow drifted onto a beautiful flower that the bone-chilling cold finally turned into warm spring water.
