Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140: Not Going Anymore

"They said there’s going to be a banquet at the Yarn Family the day after tomorrow, asking us to go on their behalf because they’re not available."

Edison Lynch didn’t respond and swallowed hard.

He was really hungry, having pushed the previous events to the back of his mind.

Emily Lynch kept talking, "Heard that the Yarn Family also invited Arnold Simmons; just don’t know if Hannah will go."

She smacked her lips and mumbled to herself, "Anyway, I’m going. As long as I can see Hannah, I’m happy."

Edison Lynch, truly suffering from hunger, couldn’t make out her words. Taking advantage of Emily speaking, he snatched the instant noodles from her hand and ran off.

By the time Emily realized what happened, her hand was already empty.

"Edison Lynch, are you sick in the head, stealing my stuff? You must be sick of living!"

She stood up and pounced towards him. Edison Lynch quickly turned around, presenting her with his back.

The two of them took turns spinning, Emily Lynch so angry that she wanted to smash his head, but she couldn’t reach due to the height difference.

Out of frustration, she jumped up and down on the spot, "Edison Lynch, you bastard, give me back my noodles!"

Edison Lynch stretched out a hand to hold Emily Lynch’s head at a distance, then contentedly slurped the last of the noodle soup under her furious gaze.

Delicious.

After eating, he even had the audacity to burp in front of Emily Lynch and make a face, "Lalala, all done."

Emily Lynch, fuming, gripped her chopsticks as if they were her actual older brother’s neck.

She squeezed and the chopsticks snapped.

Edison Lynch jumped in shock, turned to run, but then his instep took a heavy hit.

What followed was an outpouring of wailing.

"Emily Lynch, I’m your brother, how dare you hit me!"

Edison Lynch covered his blackening eye, disbelief on his face.

Unfortunately, their parents weren’t home to take his side.

Emily Lynch clenched her fists tighter, "You deserve it, for stealing my noodles."

As the fist hammered down, Edison Lynch quickly gave in, "Isn’t it just a pack of noodles? I’ll replace it later."

"Replace?" Emily’s fingers cracked menacingly, "Even if you give me ten packs, you can’t quench the hatred in my heart!"

No sooner had she spoken than her fist came crashing down.

"Emily Lynch! I’m your brother! Your own brother!"

By the time she was finished with him, half an hour had passed.

Emily Lynch stood on the sofa, looking down high and mighty at Edison Lynch crouching in one corner, "Are you going to the Yarn Family banquet or not?"

Edison Lynch whimpered, then turned over, looking as forlorn as a delicate wife, "You’re bullying me."

Emily Lynch shook her hand that had grown sore from hitting, "Hannah is going too."

Edison Lynch paused, turned his head, and his face lit up with excitement, "Then I’ll go."

Emily Lynch lowered her hand, saw her foolish brother’s expression, and wanted to crush his spirits, "By the way, Arnold Simmons will be there too."

Edison Lynch shivered and shuffled back, "Then I won’t go."

A beauty is precious but life is more valuable.

That’s a big shot; he can’t afford to offend him.

The news of the Yarn Family throwing a banquet had already been out for a while.

It was initially said to be a birthday banquet to welcome home their recently returned grandson, Louis Snyder, but for some reason, it was suddenly changed.

No more mention of a birthday banquet, just an ordinary gathering.

Although the Yarn Family’s influence had waned over the years, old connections remained, and the older generation was willing to offer the Yarn Family face.

However, since it was inconvenient for the elderly to travel far, it was the younger generation who would end up attending.

George River for example, and Edison Lynch and Emily Lynch as well.
