Chapter 1080: Chapter 1080: No Fight, No Acquaintance

It wasn’t until two minutes later that the whole story was explained.

Hayes Edwards had acted on a whim; he originally used the back door to avoid fans, and had no idea he would run into Hannah and Roy Yarn on the way.

Hayes Edwards and Roy Yarn were not exactly familiar with each other, at most they had glimpsed each other from afar on the night of their initial group formation.

Now was the time for a proper introduction.

"Sorry, I didn’t know you and Hannah were friends," Roy Yarn said, returning to his quiet and introverted demeanor, looking somewhat embarrassed.

Hayes Edwards waved it off nonchalantly, "Forget it, no use holding grudges. But I never thought you, looking so gentle and weak, could actually fight like that."

He stroked his chin with a scrutinizing expression.

Roy Yarn shook his head, "I can’t fight."

Hayes Edwards: "Come on, I don’t believe that."

Roy Yarn said nothing more.

He really couldn’t fight; it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing.

The three of them sat together on the grass, the atmosphere strangely harmonious, though Roy Yarn wasn’t very talkative, still with the face of a delicate scholar.

Hayes Edwards, feeling a twinge in his wrist, leaned close to Hannah and whispered, "What’s the story with your friend here? He packs quite a punch."

He couldn’t help but take another few glances.

Roy Yarn was gazing at the distant scenery, presenting only a profile to Hayes Edwards.

Hannah glanced at Hayes Edwards and smiled at him, "He’s tougher than you."

"What do you mean tougher than me? I was just caught off guard. Let him try again now, I can be very manly too, you know!" Hayes Edwards said, rolling up his sleeves to show off his muscles.

Hannah saw through him, "Oh, the manliness of someone who’s afraid of the dark, heights, and cockroaches?"

Hayes Edwards blushed with embarrassment, instinctively looking at Roy Yarn.

Who knew that the other man had also heard and turned to look, his eyes exceptionally delicate and probably because of his personality, seemed too naive and innocent.

Had he not been the age he was, one could believe he was a high school student in a uniform.

Hayes Edwards still held his arm flexed and fist clenched from showing off his "manliness." At this moment, somewhat embarrassed and just when Roy Yarn smiled at him, he returned a very awkward and stiff smile and then quietly lowered his hand, whispering an explanation to Hannah, "How could I have expected to see a cockroach that big and flying, wouldn’t you be scared too?"

As he said this, something came to mind, and he suddenly turned to Hannah, "Didn’t you use to be terrified of cockroaches, jumping three feet high just at the sight of one from a distance?"

Hayes Edwards exaggerated with a hand gesture.

The sunlight made his new hair color especially dazzling.

He laughed with a hint of mischief but radiantly cheerful, his eyes still carrying a touch of confusion, "You haven’t forgotten that, have you?"

Hannah’s gaze lingered on his eyes, paused quietly for a moment, then curved into a smile, "Maybe I’ve grown up, so I’m not scared anymore."

Hayes Edwards let out a sigh and lay back on the grass, "That’s true, it’s been so long, and now you’re someone else’s girlfriend."

He said the last line in an especially soft voice.

It sounded like a child whose best playmate had been snatched away by someone else.

Upset and sulky.

He turned over and closed his eyes, but his ears stood at attention, eavesdropping on the conversation between Roy Yarn and Hannah.

One line after another, the atmosphere was exceptionally friendly.

Hayes Edwards felt a heaviness in his chest and couldn’t help but cough loudly, yet still no one paid him any mind, so he simply turned his back too.
