Chapter 1055: Chapter 1055: Go Out and Have a Look
No one responded.
The servant hurried out of the kitchen, "Mr. Simmons had to go out for a bit, said he would be back later."
Hannah nodded, her gaze falling on the chessboard as she pondered something, then asked another question, "Did he say when he would be back?"
"He didn’t," the servant shook his head, hesitantly adding, "But it should be soon, I guess."
Hannah told the servant to leave.
Now she was the only one left in the spacious living room.
The television was playing a cartoon, with two non-human characters having a great time.
Hannah reached for a coat nearby, draped it over her shoulders, and stared blankly at the chessboard for five minutes.
She then moved a black piece that was about to form a row out of place before placing her own white piece.
Half an hour later, Arnold still hadn’t returned.
After instructing the servant not to tidy up the chessboard, Hannah rose to leave.
The rain had stopped outside, and although it was already May, the temperature was still not high; the occasional wind still carried a penetrating chill.
When the controversy was at its peak online, Arnold took Hannah and moved houses.
From one villa to another.
A manorial villa with gardens, a swimming pool, and fountains; they had plenty of servants at home.
When Hannah saw it for the first time, she was also stunned for a good while, then turned and teased Arnold, "So Mr. Simmons can be luxurious too. This yard is so big, one would think they’ve entered the emperor’s harem if they didn’t know any better."
Arnold simply held her hand, "I bought it a few years ago, originally thinking it would be for my retirement."
Hannah heard another meaning in his words and pressed him with questions, "And now?"
He enveloped her in his arms, murmuring softly, "Now, I just want to hide away my beauty in a golden house."
She chuckled, moving closer into his embrace, tiptoeing for kisses on his face again and again.
When she grew tired, Arnold seized the chance to turn the tables.

Waking up at night, the servant ran in from outside in a hurry, "Mr. Simmons has returned."
Hannah lay on the couch, tightly wrapping herself with the blanket, her voice lazy and blurry with sleepiness, "Mhm."
She rolled over, clearly not very interested.
The chessboard she had been preoccupied with all day was now casually tossed aside.
The chess pieces were mixed up, no longer distinguishable who was winning or losing.
The servant still stood by without leaving, bending down, "Mr. Simmons said to have you go out and have a look."
"Not looking," she pulled the blanket over her head, her muffled voice coming through with a hint of wakefulness irritability.
Sensing the person beside her hadn’t left, Hannah couldn’t help but speak out again, "If he likes standing outside, let him stand. I am not going to..."
Before she could finish, what followed was a warm embrace.
Suddenly lifted from the couch, her sleepiness vanished significantly as she opened her eyes to the familiar handsome face in front of her; Hannah was taken aback.
Her voice was still husky and tender with sleepiness, "Where have you been all day?"
"You’ll find out soon," Arnold said as he brushed aside the messy black hair on her face, carrying her outside.
The night breeze chilled her body, instantly dispelling the warmth she felt.
Hannah instinctively burrowed into Arnold’s embrace, eyes closed, restlessly nestling, "I’m sleepy, I want to go back to sleep."
She was still sulking, her face puffily indignant, cheeks flushed, her body radiating excessive heat, probably from being smothered in the blankets before.
Carrying her, he felt a continuous warmth transferring to his body, a faint sweet scent, as if rolling in a bed of flowers.
