Chapter 1028: Chapter 1028 We Haven’t Been Introduced
It was much quieter than before, as if sulking.
None of the assistants beside him dared to disturb him, all were earnestly packing up. Hearing footsteps approaching, they were just about to advise her not to go up and bother him when they saw it was Hannah and prudently shut their mouths.
Everyone in the group knew that these two were old classmates, and had the relationship of an artist and a manager. Jack Stewart wasn’t the unscrupulous manager that the outside world made him out to be, switching careers to exploit Hannah’s value.
His kindness towards Hannah was apparent to everyone.
"Jack Stewart."
The gentle and soft female voice, like a pale pink flower petal brushed by the wind, fell upon the ears.
Jack Stewart paused in packing his stuff and the next second continued, not even lifting his head.
Hannah approached again, settling herself on the chair right in front of him, leaning on the desk, cradling her little face and looking at him, "Classmate Jack Stewart?"
She tilted her head, and behind the lenses, her eyes still shone charmingly and playfully.
This time, Jack Stewart finally reacted, looking at her with annoyance, "Not calling me Director Stewart anymore?"
Realizing what that meant, she chuckled and deliberately called out, "Director Stewart."
Jack Stewart was so frustrated his grip crumpled the papers in his hands.
Seeing his irritation, Hannah waved her hand, "Alright, I know you don’t like it, I won’t call you that."
Only then did Jack Stewart loosen his grip, tossing the stuff aside. He didn’t sit down but stayed standing and saw that Hannah’s hat was slightly askew. He instinctively reached out to adjust it for her.
He realized what he was doing only after he finished and withdrew his hand, speaking with hesitation, "What are you doing here?"
"Just checking on you," Hannah lifted her head, suddenly earnest, "Were you upset during the interview just now?"
Jack Stewart quickly replied, "No."
After speaking, he met Hannah’s gaze, saw the laughter in her eyes, and immediately understood, somewhat helplessly taking a seat opposite her, "How did you know?"
Hannah’s eyes curved confidently, "Of course, I could tell."
Jack Stewart paused then laughed, "If you were that clever, you wouldn’t have been deceived by a man before."
The last sentence, he said subconsciously, but still in a softened voice.
After speaking, he looked at Hannah with some concern.
Seeing that she remained composed, far from the lovestruck look she once had, he breathed a sigh of relief and added quickly, "Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring it up."
Hannah smiled nonchalantly, "It doesn’t matter, I don’t care."
Then silence suddenly fell between the two once more, and no one noticed when the few assistants had left the spacious venue.
It was deathly quiet.
Hannah looked up at the empty seats, then at the darkened exit, where she could vaguely discern a figure...
"He accompanied you to Fashion Week before, didn’t he?"
Jack Stewart suddenly spoke.
It was clear who he was referring to.
Hannah retracted her gaze, pausing for a while before nodding with a smile, "Yes, he did accompany me."
Jack Stewart pursed his lips, murmuring something indistinct, then Hannah’s voice reached him again.
"Jack Stewart, should I introduce you two?"
Jack Stewart snapped back to reality, his lips moving as if struggling to speak, and after a while, he said dryly, "Why introduce us, it’s not like we’re meeting the parents."
After saying that, he wanted to slap himself.
Parents? Where did that come from?
Hannah exhaled pointedly, looking somewhat dejected, "But I’ve never had the chance to introduce him to anyone."
Jack Stewart answered without thinking, "He doesn’t need an introduction, everybody knows him."
Even though Arnold Simmons had never formally appeared in public, the name was unfamiliar to very few.
