Chapter 1020: Chapter 1020: The Gap is Too Big

The distance was only a few steps, yet it felt like the difference between heaven and earth.

The reporters’ shifting cameras seemed to mock her stupidity—imagine, one day being completely crushed by her own stand-in without any power to retaliate.

Looking at Hannah’s overly long hem, Tiffany Lynch tugged at the corner of her mouth, her smiling expression somewhat twisted and stiff, a plan forming in her mind.

A red carpet mishap was absolutely a blow and humiliation for an artist.

Tiffany tugged at her own hem and took steps towards the VIP passageway.

Looking up, in the instant her gaze met the other’s, Tiffany felt as if she saw her own current state reflected in those eyes.

A face distorted by jealousy, and a hem stuck on the middle barrier.

Before she could even cry out in alarm, Tiffany tumbled directly onto the red carpet due to inertia. She faced Hannah’s direction, yet several vigilant security guards in black uniforms stood in between.

Gasps of surprise came from the crowd, followed by all cameras turning to focus on Tiffany lying on the ground.

These pictures, capturing Tiffany’s unflattering moment, would be uploaded to domestic websites at the fastest speed.

Half an hour later, both Hannah and Tiffany made it to the trending searches.

The former for a candid shot that stunned everyone, the latter for a suspected staged fall on the red carpet.

With the image Tiffany had left with the public, plus the fact that she had been exposed for paying for positive articles multiple times, people naturally assumed the worst regarding the "staged fall."

No matter how online public opinion fermented, Tiffany, far abroad, couldn’t clarify immediately.

She forced herself to calm down. Several times she tried to approach Hannah, but was stopped by a security guard standing nearby.

Because Hannah sat in the VIP area, guests not specially invited couldn’t get through.

Tiffany held back her frustration, watching Hannah be surrounded by reporters for interviews, as designer Chloe praised her as his muse, while Tiffany could only awkwardly stand in the shadows.

No one cared about her at all.

The idea of competing with Hannah for the spotlight was simply humiliating.

She had never thought before that, unnoticed by her, the gap between herself and Hannah Winter had grown wider and wider.

After waiting a long time, Tiffany finally found an opportunity to intercept Hannah as the event was dispersing, her anger suppressed as she issued a command, "Hannah Winter, have your assistant leave first."

By this time, most of the people at the show had dispersed, except for a few artists still giving interviews in the distance—no one noticed this corner.

It was eerily quiet.

Hannah looked up at Tiffany standing in front of her, adjusted the earrings dangling from her earlobes with a hand, and asked indifferently, "Give me a reason."

Tiffany’s gaze involuntarily fell on those earrings, with admiration and envy in her eyes.

A limited edition diamond earrings by Chloe, with only three pairs in the whole world, given but not sold. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

One pair belonged to the royal family, another was collected by a descendent of Chloe’s founder, and the last was just presented personally by the designer to Hannah.

"If you don’t speak, I’ll leave."

Tiffany came back to her senses, casting a final envious glance at the earrings before withdrawing her gaze, "I have something to discuss with you."

Hannah sighed, her tone a mix of helplessness and impatience, yet she told her assistants to leave, "Just wait outside for me, and if you hear me call, come in quickly."

The two assistants nodded, each giving Tiffany a look before they left.
