Chapter 1013: Chapter 1013: That Extra Bit of Thoughtfulness

He did have feelings for her.

Only in this way could she act even more recklessly in the things she was about to do.

"Jimmy..." she leaned her head on the man’s shoulder and tried to move closer, but her hand was captured in the next second.

A very heavy grip.

Tiffany Lynch couldn’t help but cry out in pain, her eyes welling up with tears that also contained fright.

Probably having recognized the person before her, Jimmy Simmons’s eyes briefly flickered with a dark light before returning to their usual appearance as he rubbed his temples, "Tiffany, what are you doing?"

He had drunk quite a bit at the banquet earlier, and his head was still a bit foggy now.

With her hand released, Tiffany Lynch gripped her wrist, only feeling embarrassed as she returned to her senses, "I... I just saw you feeling unwell... and wanted to help."

Remembering her bold move just now, Tiffany Lynch felt her face burning hot, yet she didn’t regret it in her heart.

Instead, she felt some uneasiness and confusion.

She tentatively started with a soft and sweet tone, looking at the man before her, "Jimmy, you’ve drunk tonight, let me take care of you, shall I?"

The meaning behind her words was already very clear.

Jimmy Simmons rolled down the car window, took out a cigarette from the pack to fiddle with in his fingertips, and smiled at the woman in front of him, "Tiffany, such matters can be left to the servants."

Tiffany Lynch’s face immediately turned pale, and her heart sank.

She thought that Jimmy must have understood her intentions, but seeing his demeanor, she couldn’t grasp his stance.

Her uneasiness grew, and a familiar sense of fear came rushing in. Acting on impulse, she blurted out the question, "Jimmy... what do you think of Hannah Winter?"

The question was formulaic, but the real purpose was to probe.

The name Hannah Winter was like a nightmare weighing down on Tiffany Lynch, rendering her breathless.

But what about for Jimmy Simmons?

The first time he heard this name from Tiffany Lynch’s mouth, he thought the woman must be arrogant, disdainful, and vulgar, seeking nothing more than money.

Whether it was his lifesaver or the girl who had shone in his youth, he had been more inclined to believe Tiffany’s words.

Having obtained information about Hannah Winter from Hank Ward, seeing her relationship with Arnold Simmons, he even found it amusing that Arnold would fall for such a woman.

It must have been infatuation.

But then one day, he actually saw her.

A fleeting glance...

That feeling was probably like finding the only blooming rose amidst a wild profusion of flowers, resplendent and fiery, crashing directly into his line of sight.

Everyone desires beauty, and upon first meeting, he wanted to conquer. Seeing her again, standing beside Arnold, blooming with a smile, soft and lively, that gave birth to a craving to plunder.

But for a man like him, love was merely a decoration in a life of ennui, even if it was a girl he had long pined for, in his grasp she only seemed bland and tasteless. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

The extra bit of interest he had for Hannah was probably because she was Arnold’s woman.

He told himself so.

But a woman like her, born with a face of exquisite beauty, warranted a second look after the first, an infinite cycle that persisted even in dreams, enchanting like a fairy.

Stars slipped from the sky into the sea, causing ripples to rise and fall.

That persistent feeling of familiarity only served to irritate Jimmy Simmons, leaving him in turmoil, unwilling to even ponder it closely.
