Chapter 1006: Chapter 1006: You Know It in Your Heart
Hannah turned her head to look at the newcomer, her eyes slightly lifted to reveal a faint smile, "Jimmy Simmons."
The warm glow fell upon her exquisite face, the corners of her eyes lifted slightly, bringing out a hint of seductive charm.
When she called his name, it instead seemed to put quite a distance between them.
Jimmy Simmons chuckled without approaching, just leaning against the wall, a lit cigarette between his fingers, its light flickering, "Waiting for Arnold Simmons?"
The air seemed to carry a faint scent of tobacco.
It wasn’t exactly pleasant.
Hannah looked down to check the time.
Nine thirty on the dot.
Fifteen minutes to go until the appointed time.
Only, Arnold Simmons had a habit of arriving early.
Looking up again, Hannah’s tone was serious yet somewhat nonchalant, "Did you stop him?"
Her tone was certain.
She looked up at the man not far away, her gaze as if it could easily penetrate into a person’s heart.
Jimmy Simmons paused for a moment with his fingertips, ash falling, and teased, "Little Auntie is wronging me here. Even if I had all the power in the world, I wouldn’t dare stop Uncle."
Hannah turned away, no longer looking at him, her voice scattered by the wind, "You know very well whether you dare or not."
The cold wind blew chaotically, the tree shadows swayed, blurring the already dim light.
After a while, Jimmy Simmons finally walked over and stood beside Hannah, copying her posture as he stared into the pitch-black road that seemed endless, his nose picking up the faint fragrance from her body.
Mixed with a light scent of liquor, it was indeed intoxicating.
He deliberately made his words sound ambiguous, "Little Auntie seems to know me very well."
Hannah turned her head toward him, her gaze calm, and suddenly asked, "What did George River promise you for cooperating with him?"
Ripples appeared in Jimmy Simmons’s eyes, but his expression remained calm, "Is Little Auntie jesting with me?"
He pretended not to understand her implication, yet there was a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Hannah curved her lips into a smile, her voice soft, "Let me guess, all you want is the Simmons Clan, and as for George River..."
She spoke, deliberately pausing for a moment, her toes stepping out, slowly moving forward, shortening the distance between them. Tilting her head up slightly, her red lips parted lightly, "He wants me, right?"
Her words, soft and gentle, seemed to blow right into one’s heart, melting even a heart frozen into ice.
Jimmy Simmons’s gaze fell upon her enticing red lips, and he listened to her warm, soft words, unable to look away for a long time.
The cigarette burned to its end, the embers searing his fingertips, snapping him back to reality.
He was someone who did as he pleased, and the person he wanted had never been out of reach. Now, facing her, his heart thundered even more fiercely, but he still feigned composure, "Are you so confident that George River would collaborate with me just to have you?"
She raised her eyebrows and smiled sweetly, her lowered lashes casting scattered starlight, "It’s not just him; you want me too, don’t you?"
Her words caused a tumult inside Jimmy Simmons, but he scoffed lightly, "You think I like you?"
"A man wanting a woman doesn’t necessarily have to be about love." Hannah lifted her head, her gaze skimming over his face before settling back on the swaying tree shadows, "In ancient times, emperors had kingdoms in their grasp, yet they still needed beauties as accessories to their victory. Jimmy Simmons, you share the same thoughts."
Everything about the Simmons Family, in Jimmy Simmons’s eyes, had been taken by Arnold Simmons.
Reclaiming everything was what he had to do, but his hatred for Arnold Simmons was a separate issue.
And she was that separate issue.
