Chapter 736: Chapter 563: Disaster of the Ghost Sect

...

"Tap."

"Tap."

"Tap."

In the desolate and deep tunnel, a figure hurried along, quickly arriving in front of a dark iron door, which he pushed open with a "bang."

"Old Clan Leader, why are you..."

Before the Young Master could finish speaking, someone had grabbed him by the throat and lifted him. His face, once gentle and calm, now twisted with ferocity, "Did you dare to scheme against me?!"

"Old... Old Clan Leader, your... your words... I don’t... I don’t understand." Blood foamed at the corners of his mouth, and after being imprisoned for so long, the Young Master had no strength to struggle.

"You calculated that it was time the Japan Ghost Society had to be opened again, and that I would take that boy to solve the Mirror Ghost there. But you didn’t tell him about the special room where time flows differently from the outside," the Old Clan Leader said, growing increasingly agitated and tightening his grip. "You know the rooms in the Ghost Society are nearly at their limit. Once that boy dies inside, the ghosts in his Magic Artifacts will have no new room to accommodate them. Then, when the balance is disrupted, a horde of ghosts will riot, break through their cages, and the gates of the Ghost Society will swing wide open. All the Fierce Ghosts imprisoned inside will pour out. Then, you can escape amidst the chaos!"

"Do you realize how many people will die if the Ghost Society riots?" The Old Clan Leader’s eyes blazed with murderous intent.

"This Ghost Society holds the Fierce Ghosts from Japan that have gone unmanaged for over a hundred years. Their number and treacherous abilities are rarely seen. The Japanese never give up; the former leader of the Ghost Sect, sensing the Ghost Society was at its limit and his own time drawing close, came alone, stealthily crossing the sea to attempt to open the gates of the Ghost Society and unleash chaos."

"Fortune smiles on Huaxia, for this despicable act was discovered in advance. The former leader, willing to bait himself, was surrounded and killed by many experts, dying within the Ghost Society, which was then suppressed alongside him."

"At that critical moment, if the former leader had succeeded, the Angel Envoy’s power within our country would have been severely weakened. Shortly thereafter, the followers of the Ghost Sect would have landed along our southeastern coast. At the same time, the Yin Temple power situated in Northern Myanmar and Thailand would have taken action, pressing from the west. The Western Church, those with wolfish ambitions, would undoubtedly join to take a share, leading to a three-front assault. With external ghosts and internal treachery, our nation would be in grave danger."

Seeing the Young Master’s gaze grow vacant, barely clinging to life, the Old Clan Leader finally stopped, released his grip, and the Young Master collapsed to the ground, gasping heavily. All vestiges of his noble demeanor were gone; he now looked as wretched as a homeless dog.

"From now on, our previous agreements are void. I’m giving you one year to find the Hundred Demons Coffin Clothes for me; otherwise, I will cripple you and sell you to the Chamber of Commerce. They will find a good place for you," said the Old Clan Leader before flinging his sleeves and turning to leave, leaving the Young Master lying on the cold ground.

As the iron door closed, a self-mocking smile appeared on the half-hidden face of the Young Master in the shadows, "Even the leader of the Ghost Sect couldn’t kill you. You really are lucky..."

...

"Achoo!"

"Achoo!"

"Achoo!"

Having returned to his apartment, taken a hot shower, and crawled into bed, Yang Xiao sneezed inexplicably several times.

"Who could be missing me from afar?" Yang Xiao sniffled, the image of that Slaughter Corpse Ghost flashing through his mind, sending a chill down his spine. He silently prayed, hoping the ghosts would not take offense.

The strength of the Slaughter Corpse Ghost was terrifyingly formidable; it had severely injured the Old Clan Leader, making it the most dreadful existence within the Ghost Tomb.

Because of the Slaughter Corpse Ghost, any ghosts that managed to escape their rooms were soon found, hooked, and dragged back by it. It acted like a warden within the Ghost Tomb.

Meanwhile, Yang Xiao couldn’t help but recall a recent scene. As the Slaughter Corpse Ghost swung its iron hook, he had caught a glimpse of a black tag hanging beneath its belt, engraved with the ancient character for "ghost."

"What kind of ghost is this?" Yang Xiao wondered. From the Old Clan Leader’s demeanor towards this ghost, he must know its identity and how terrifying it is, yet he appeared unwilling to share this with Yang Xiao.

The origin of this Ghost Tomb also seemed to remain an unresolved mystery.

As his fear gradually subsided, Yang Xiao also found himself unable to sleep. He tossed and turned before finally getting out of bed, donned his Drama Robe, took his backpack, and entered the Mirror World. The mystery of the Ghost Tomb was too distant; what he truly needed to focus on were the issues with the Mirror Ghost.

Stepping into the Mirror World, everything was gray, cold, and unchanged. Yet, when he closed his eyes and carefully felt his surroundings, something was different. The previous experiences of the Mirror World had felt cold and alien, but now, he felt an inexplicable familiarity, as if some unseen force was beckoning him forth.

Following this inner call, it took him less than ten minutes to arrive at an unremarkable room on the ground floor. Before him was an ordinary wooden door, just like the others, but as his hand touched the door, everything changed. The wooden color quickly stripped away, revealing the green bronze door hidden behind it.
