Chapter 1965: Chapter 1112: Evidence

"To address this supernatural incident, the authorities dispatched a squad of Angel Envoys to handle the situation."

"The squad consists of three members, whose photos everyone has seen, corresponding to Half Ghost, Water Ghost, and Paint Ghost respectively."

"However, the operation failed, and all three were killed within the realm of the Source Ghost. Influenced by the Source Ghost, they were trapped inside Youjian Mountain Station, becoming a special existence similar to a Chang Ghost."

"Also, I think their task wasn’t to rescue hostages, but to clean up the scene, contain the Resentful Eye, and erase all evidence."

"The targets for erasure certainly included those ordinary people who were lucky enough to survive."

"After all, the implications of this incident are too significant. If it gets leaked, it would be a huge blow to the credibility of the Japanese Apostle, so they chose to completely eliminate any traces and silence all who were informed about this matter."

"Do you... do you have evidence?" Yang Xiao’s story brought a huge shock to Sakai Misaki, an ordinary person, making her unable to believe it.

"Two points." Yang Xiao extended two fingers, gently shaking them.

"First, according to Morioka, these Evil Cultivators secretly occupied Refuge No. 14 and initiated Evil Techniques and Evil Scriptures within it, which is nearly impossible in reality."

Yang Xiao took out the underground layout of Youjian Mountain Station, "Look at this, the prison section beneath this underground passage isn’t a small project at all. Building here would require significant manpower and resources. Without government support, where did these Evil Cultivators get such capabilities?"

"Let’s take a step back. Even if they do have the manpower and financial resources, are the local regulatory agencies blind? Such a big commotion on their turf, and they don’t see or hear anything?"

"Another step back, even if they neither see nor hear, what about the people? Those who were brainwashed into the cult, disappearing from the real world?"

"You all saw the photos; there are at least 200 or 300 people, with the real number likely being higher. Such a large-scale disappearance was not detected by any department before the supernatural incident fully erupted, nor was any team tracking or investigating it. It baffles me," Yang Xiao said.

"The second point, the configuration of this so-called rescue squad." Yang Xiao laid out three photos, and flipped them over to reveal the brief description behind each.

"This woman holds an umbrella that can create a Spiritual Illusion Realm; the so-called acid rain doesn’t exist, but invokes a highly corrosive sensation, not harming the body, only affecting human perception - an ability unique to a Spiritual Apostle."

"This man, Paint Ghost, once he locks onto someone, leaves a mark that allows continued pursuit; there’s nowhere to hide. This is the ability of a Curse Type Magical Artifact."

"Lastly, this man, Half Ghost, can influence the ghost train, controlling it to shuttle between Youjian Mountain Station and the real world - an ability unique to a Space Type Apostle."

"What does this indicate?" Sakai Misaki stared at the photos, looking bewildered.

"What does it indicate?" Yang Xiao sneered, raised his hand pointing at Yandeta Chiyoda, Kato Shinjiro, and others, "Ask them, what a configuration of a Spiritual Apostle, a Space Apostle, and a Magic-type Apostle represents?"

"This is a top-level specification Angel Envoy squad. Not to mention how rare Angel Envoys were decades ago, even now, there are very few forces able to assemble three such rare abilities at once!"

"Sending these three guys to rescue people, dream on! The combined value of these three is much more precious than ordinary people’s lives!"

"Also, those passengers getting off the ghost train had water stains on them, and the killing method was similar to the Water Ghost. This is enough to prove they were killed by the Water Ghost, becoming Chang Ghosts for the opposite side."

"To be precise, it wasn’t the Water Ghost, it was this woman who slaughtered those people - this is murder to silence!" Yang Xiao forcefully pointed at the woman’s photo.

What Yang Xiao said was difficult for Sakai Misaki to understand, she instinctively looked at Kato Shinjiro, who lightly nodded with a serious expression.

It was at this moment that Sakai Misaki knew Yang Xiao was telling the truth, and the positive image of Chief Morita in her mind suddenly collapsed.

Of course, she also came to realize Morioka was much more formidable than just a chief; he was a big shot, many times tougher than the usual chief.

Xiao Lin Zhengyan suddenly seemed to think of something, his brows furrowing, "Not good, they killed to silence over this matter back then, and now we’ve come into contact with this secret again, isn’t it..."

Yandeta Chiyoda slowly exhaled, "Since they knew we’ve been dragged into this, we’ve already been seen as dead by them, regardless of whether the matter can be resolved, they won’t let us go."

Sakai Misaki’s mouth opened slightly in fright, her face filled with anxiety and unease. The little hope that had just risen was once again shattered.

She was still young, and she didn’t want to die, but she was powerless in the face of all this.

Until a hand reached out, gently holding her arm, offering support, "Miss Zuo Bo, I promised you, I’ll bring you home."

"Mr. Katou..." Sakai Misaki, tears in her eyes, wished she could immediately seek solace in Kato Shinjiro’s chest.

Meanwhile, she didn’t notice that Yang Xiao, standing behind her, now had a look of pity in his eyes.

This night, everyone will board the train, so planning doesn’t matter. As night falls, the sunset sags like it’s dying, leaving only the last trace of afterglow on the horizon.

This environment inexplicably creates tension, as the two groups, Yandeta Chiyoda and Kato Shinjiro, depart one after another.

In the Detective Agency, only Yang Xiao and the other two remain, with Xiao Lin Zhengyan sitting dazedly in a chair, appearing somewhat distracted, but Yang Xiao knows he’s processing the discussion’s content.

For an ordinary person like him, much of the previous content requires time to digest. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

And Yang Xiao also didn’t want to spend time explaining alone to him because it wasn’t necessary - it mattered neither to himself nor to Xiao Lin Zhengyan.

Even Takagi Reina couldn’t fully understand, especially concerning the part about high-rank Angel Envoy abilities, but she chose not to speak.

Shortly thereafter, about ten minutes later, Yang Xiao’s phone rang - it was a call from Kato Shinjiro, so he chose to answer.

According to their plan, Kato Shinjiro and his team were supposed to return shortly after leaving, but instead he called, causing Yang Xiao to realize there was a problem.

Indeed, upon connecting the call, Kato Shinjiro informed him of bad news - upon leaving, he noticed a courier’s truck parked not far from the front door.

The truck was parked by the roadside; he remembered it being there when he came in the morning.

Most suspicious was the man in the driver’s seat, craning his neck, furtively peeking in his direction - upon realizing he’d been spotted, the man quickly looked away.

"Heh, Yandeta Chiyoda likes to play little tricks," Yang Xiao immediately grasped the scheme.

"Yes, they’re probably behind it. This person is someone they’ve arranged to keep tabs on us; it appears they’ve uncovered our collaboration." Kato Shinjiro’s tone remained calm.

"Knowing is better; it saves us from tedious troubles. Now we don’t need to act, and I want to believe in Mr. Katou’s sincerity," Yang Xiao said.

"Please come up; let’s thoroughly plan tonight’s arrangement," Yang Xiao extended an invitation.

"Gladly." Kato Shinjiro smiled.
